I used to have my mom drop me off at the park gates before daylight and hike to the top of the falls and take the old iron stairs to the bottom, and fish all-day. she would pick me up at dark. I caught my PB smallie under them falls, it weighed 5.1 lbs. Thank you for the memories. That was 35 years ago.
@Ryan Kiesow thats a giant rock bass! I have caught some big ones, my biggest being about 1.2 pounds, I didn't eat him though. I heard they are great eating!
Burgess Falls State Park is named after my 3x Great Grandfather Tom Burgess, a Revolutionary War veteran, who built a grist mill on the Falling Water River at this location. Really enjoy your videos. Blessings to you.
The most beautiful spot you have fished and I have ever seen! Please don’t change the way you present videos. We need to see the “how not to” as well as the “how to” parts.
My, my! That was one gorgeous place. Catching the fish was just a bonus to this episode. Thanks for sharing with us John. Please, don't change anything about your channel, I for one enjoy every aspect of each video.
@@donnyseputis6288 at the very end of Center Hill lake in middle Tennessee. There is also a dam just a little bit above the falls on the Falling Water river that creates Burgess Falls lake. It is just 11-12 miles from Cookeville Tennessee.
I started watching you a couple of years ago and I don't think I have missed a single one. I love the mature way that you act and you don't scream and holler like a 10 year old every time you catch one. There is another thing about you that I like, in that you know all the different species of sun fish. Most guys I know, including me just call them all brim. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.
Definitely one for the books. The fishing was fantastic, but the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. I've seen some beautiful sights as an OTR truck driver, but those shots of the waterfall and surrounding area, were stunning. It's areas like this that always remind me just how truly awesome are God is, for only he could create such wonderful things as this.
That place looks like a made-to-order, all-you-can-eat special for big, hungry fish! Every minnow and small fish that comes over those falls just HAS TO BE stunned and/or injured. That's easy pickings for a hungry fish waiting below!

@@JackycClark Center Hill Lake, its headwaters and tailwaters are very diverse for the southern U.S. With muskies in the Collins river headwaters and trophy trout with stripers, carp, bass, in the tailwaters leading into the Cumberland river. Big spotted and smallmouth bass, walleyes, crappie {my 5 year old caught a 16" crappie}, and plenty of other panfish in the lake. Beautiful scenery. Where Nashville's money has a second home.
John just keep doing the videos the way you have been from the start . Fishing trips aren’t away catching one fish after another, but they’re all fun . Don’t change the way you started is what started me watching your channel !
3:02 , nice surprise at the end of the rainbow . Personally ,I enjoy seeing your videos whether you're catching the many varieties of bass , catfish or even the smallest of sunfish . Your good days as well as your bad days All of this entails the past time as well as the work involved with fishing . The good days as well as the bad days for it's all a part of life and thank you for sharing yours with us .
Thank you for sharing and please don't change a thing because I really enjoy watching your videos John . Creek fishing adventure is my favorite RU-vid channel so God bless you John 🙏 ❤ 🙏👍😊
Wow John!!! That an incredibly beautiful spot! So glad you went there so those of us who will never get to TN can enjoy it through you. Tight lines and praying continued blessings upon you!
I joined your channel when you had just a few thousand subscribers. You enjoy what you are doing and you do things that most people can do. Catching a few fish or a bunch and catching a bunch of little fish is fun to watch. I have been watching for a good while and I am not likely to stop now. Keep doing it like you want it works great.
Just to let you know I enjoy your vids. My younger brother and I cut our teeth on exploring creeks and loved it catching anything. We are pretty much experts on creek chubs and suckers. Taught him everything I knew about fishing and one day I realized he was out fishing me every time. We had a ball on creeks and still do 70+ years later. Would love exploring one with ya!
That first mixed bass you caught looked like a Mean Mouth A hybrid (Spotted Bass/Smallmouth) . You are so blessed John !!! The good Lord is so great all the time !!! Great video Sir - Thank you
I know that you were texting Brother John, but I saw what you said about the Lord, and was immediately reminded of the Scripture in Psalms that tells us:"O taste and see that the LORD is good. Blessed is the man that trusteth in him"! Blessings to you, Brother!
Your videos are awesome the way they are. No one in this world is ever going to have perfect fishing days everytime they go out. Seeing both the good and the bad is truthfully the way it should be done. Besides that even on some bad days, the scenery is awesome. Stay you! God bless and looking forward to the next video.
Waterfalls are great spots usually loaded too. The fish pile up there in the summer when oxygen levels drop because waterfalls aerate the water and the fish eat whatever animals fall over.
Put in at Cane Hollow many many times and fished Burgess Falls my whole life! Caught many good fish out of the Falling Water River and Center Hill Lake! I growed up about three miles above the falls.
Keep on keeping on John. I love your way & where you fish. Between you and Ty of Typig patrol you both are so much better than those other “fishing pro’s”! You teach, you show how & why the majority of fishing are blessed and beautiful! Makes me want to visit TN and Texas!
Don’t change your videos John. Fishing isn’t always just the good stuff. You keep is realistic and down to earth. It’s your personality that I enjoy more than other guys w fishing videos. You’re doing great just the way you are!
Wow! John! This is my favorite video I've seen! The way you worked your way up to the Waterfall was amazing! When you were rained on, I thought you were at the waterfall. As usual, you caught so many different species, some of which were apparently hybrids. Thank you for an inspiring episode!
Beautiful spot John! Definitely adding this my waterfalls to see in middle Tennessee. I hope it’s hike able but I think not since I didn’t see anyone but you out there. I’m from West Tennessee and so want to take a hiking adventure to middle Tennessee. Definitely adding this one to my list and pray it’s accessible by foot. I enjoy you and your channel so much every time. Please show us everything. I think I can speak for all your serious and loyal followers that we appreciate everything you show us! God Bless!!!🙏❤️
This is a beautiful place, I know you had fun being there also catching a lots of fish too. It's good to be able to go to places like that and enjoy yourself, God has bless you too, so enjoy and be bless. I think you are a very nice person and a gentleman, I watch your videos daily I enjoy just seeing you catching fish and having fun and keeping the Lard in it that's wonderful have a bless day.
I'm imagining if you dropped a crawldad in and fished it like you do a helgramite that you would slay them. Beautiful kayak footage & I'm only 5 min's into the video.
Don’t change a thing about what you do. Your videos have helped me so much since discovering your channel in the last year, not only learning how and where to catch bass in TN, but your videos are so peaceful and fun to watch. Thanks so much.
I've been to Burgess Falls by foot but never by kayak. It is an absolutely beautiful place. The water was low when I was last there and I stood on that point in the middle at the top of the falls.
RainbowFish!! Awesome catch in the rain! Look, you could paddle around and not catch a thing and I'd hit the like thingy. The places you fish are worth seeing, like that waterfall, amazing.
Id like to see more of how you rig, and tie individual baits. Certainly there are universal ways, but sometimes we like to have a certain way and id love to see that. Id love to see a short segment on trip prep, etc.
You make some of the best fishing videos out there! Keep up your fantastic work and god bless! You inspired me to explore different lakes around my area in the St Cloud, MN area and had a lot of success. Largemouth, sunfish, crappies, yellow perch, bullheads, and northern pike are abundant up here and on a perfect day you can spend a whole day catching tons of fish!
Don't change anything on your videos. We that may not have the resources to go buy a lot of lures like to be able to see what works and what doesn't. But also we learn how to fish different lures that we may not of fished before. God bless and thank you for your testimony.
Another great video my friend. Loved the waterfall and just the beauty of it all. I'm thankful for you and your videos. Fishing was always a passion for me but my health has stripped me of my greatest enjoyment. Your videos give me back a lot of that enjoyment and I'm thankful for it. Keep the great content coming and thanks again.
What a beautiful moment! Turning the kayak, Into the rain, just so we could see that amazing rainbow. And you got a fish at the same moment. If that doesn't tell you God is watching over you, nothing will. 🙏
Incredible video loved the waterfall, glad I could travel along and look forward to each video. Can’t believe there’s not one Rattle trap in that box, one of my favorites. Thanks for a great channel, love it
