I haven't got 8* armour pieces & I'm not end game however I have been doing the 'free' 5km driftsmelting anyway to build up those 'driftstones' -- just in case I'll need them to exchange for a future exclusive driftgem or whatnot 🤔
Only boss driftsmelt i got was crit eye on my kulu greaves XD Every other thing was Aggressive dodgers...and 1 is enough, not 4!!! LOL (Still trying to get my WEX on coral hat, and burst on rathian greaves...)
basically, 1 in 21 chance to get a skill, but i doubt the 3 yellow skills are weighed evenly compared the white ones. i wouldnt put it past niantic to have it be like a 1% chance to get any one of the 3 yellow skills, and whatever the math is leftover for the other 18 skills. im not a mathologist haha
Bingo! This is just a theory of course. But its Niantic. I'm pretty sure there is a hidden variable in there otherwise they wouldnt have made the yellow ones so special. In fact, if they were made just a little harder than the other then the ODDS GET EVEN WORSE LOL.
It does...its specific and non specific COMBINED. But like we're talking about we don't know if there's a hidden variable like specific skills have a lower rate versus non specific skills. I would need more data or diving into the game master to see that.
Once you driftsmelt 10 times on one piece of gear is there a way to remove the bad ones or overwrite them or once it’s filled it’s no longer useable for a driftsmelt? Also I thought when you kill a monster and break a part it gives you certain pieces? I fought two Zinogre and broke its forelegs both times but got 0 prime claws which I need for the lance upgrade.
Sadly its just an increased chance to get said items. Once you get more than 10 you'll get a screen that prompts you to pick a skill to delete so don't worry about that. Good luck!
ehh...might. Remember the chance is still really low. Its even worse if there's some hidden variable we don't know about so fingers crossed that you get something good!
