DO NOT RE-UPLOAD Everyone should watch Koe no Katachi, this is a really important movie to be made. Astounding! 10/10 English is not our first language. Therefore English caption is available, auto-translate for Japanese and Indonesian.
30:14 she did, Kawai (the girl in glasses) took part in bullying her, and she was way worse in the manga, she literally was gaslighting people into thinking she was always innocent. At the part when the whole class was singing, kawaii actually started to breathe and open her mouth (which she knew Shoko was watching her) to make Shoko think she was singing. She's a passive bully and she's the only character that doesn't evolve and change until the end.
im glad you noticed that kawai started breathing and that is why shoko started singing, i noticed this as well, but seems like nobody ever notices it XD
Such a beautiful love story of two people suffering through depression learning to love themselves again. Its also a story of communication and understanding each other's suffering. This was a priceless reaction 😂 You're right. Both the teacher and Kawai (blonde girl) are trash. Especially in the manga. If the teacher did his job, it wouldn't have happened. They were kids so I can't fully blame them. They were getting annoyed with meeting Shoko's needs so they picked on her. Childish, but it happens. If the teacher bothered to punish them or even teach them what Shoko is going through as a disabled person... maybe they could have come to understand her and treat her better. But no. Ueno's (black hair girl) problem is how straightforward and stubborn she is. She treats people based on what she thinks of them. With what Sahara mentioned, apparently Ueno is a decently well liked person at school cos of her straightforward personality. Which means she can be polite and cool to be around if she thinks you're a good person. Its just unfortunate that since she doesn't like Shoko, this mean side is all we see of her. Its shown more directly in the manga that her attitude against Shoko was mostly cos of her feelings for Ishida. Ueno has a thing for him and still does. Back then she went along with Ishida picking on Shoko cos of that, but cowardly stood by when he needed her most. She was actually inspired by Ishida making ammends with Shoko, which is why she tried to get him to make up with his old friends from elementary. She had good intentions there. She also stood up for Ishida when Kawai was putting the blame on him again. This is her way of making ammends with Ishida. Sad that she doesn't care to apologize to Shoko for the past too, but it is what it is. Both in elementary and in the present she resents Shoko, believing that she is using her disability to gain sympathy. Especially from Ishida. That's just how she views Shoko and is why she will continue to not like her. And cos of her jealousy too lol. At the end, they've both reached a peaceful resolution. Able to exist alongside each other, but they're not friends. They're a friend of their friend. Which is fine.
Just one more thing about Ueno, that we see in the manga and not the movie, she was the only one at the beginning really helping Nishimiya, because of that, that shitty teacher made Ueno take all responsability to help Nishimiya, it helped in the hate she has towards Nishimiya, she couldn’t study properly and the teacher was always putting the blame on her
I hope this is not a dream. My eyes sparkled when I saw the video notification. The movie is very sad but beautiful at the same time, beautiful reaction, I was on the verge of tears. Love you guys ❤❤
When I first initial watched this I thought the lesson was to love your enemy or something in the line of that, but the 2nd time I watched it I released it was about someone who was looking for a reason to be alive and find himself rather than this lonely person who sees everyone against him. Then the ending with him finally being able to look at people in the eye without looking down is just beautiful, truly a remarkable story.
You really need to read the manga. There is a ton of context you are missing that the movie doesn't have time to flesh out, especially with Ueno. Just to name a few, Ueno was in love with Ishida, and the only time he gave her attention is when she participated in the bullying. That is why when she meets Shoko at the crosswalk, she starts to bully her again to get Ishida's attention. Ueno also tried to help Shoko at first, but she would get in trouble if Shoko didn't understand something or did something wrong. This is also why she started to bully Sahara because Sahara only got praise for working with Shoko when she would only get yelled at for her efforts. I could go on and on about her alone, but you just need to understand that they were all victims in one way or the other. So just read the manga, and you will understand what I'm talking about.
This is a really great and beautiful movie. Please watch 'Your Name' next. Then 'Weathering with you'. All are great anime movie and I'm sure you will love them.
Omg my favorite anime movie. I have been watching you guys for so long it's so nice to see you react to this. I have a stutter that caused me a lot of bullying and the teachers did nothing about it. This whole movie always bring me to tears every time. I went through all the motions in this movie, the bullying, the emotions, the feeling that you're less, and the other bad stuff. Thankfully I came a long way and this was one of the reasons I came to terms with it and began to love myself. (Also Neon Gensis Evangelion if you can believe that). But yeah, great reaction and really love your videos. (Ps. I did cry again watching the reaction)
The bridge scene and Shouko Apologizing was broke my heart so much when i first watched this. Spoiler : since this anime is adaptation from manga, the last chapter is Shouko and Ishida going to their Elementary School Reunion and the ending panel is they opened a door withh their hands holding. It's more to just a romance scene, since Ishida in the end is accepted that he's not alone and Shouko realized that she's mean something to her surrounding, the last panel in manga indicated that they're entering new whole life, together.
According to the interview with the author, Shoko decided she'd end her life at the bridge when Shoyo pushed all his friends away, because she blamed herself as the sole reason. That's why Shoyo had the weird reaction when he saw her smile, it wasn't a normal smile. That's why she submitted her sister's photo so she could get into school, she suggested her mom to pick it to build a better relationship between her mom and sis, and invited Shoya to help them bake the cake so he and her mom could get along. When the fireworks scene came, she already had set everything as planned, and spent her last moments, in her mind with him, that's why she didn't respond to Shoyo suggesting they celebrate her birthday next year
to anybody who ever consider suicide... yes, there is the whole "there is still hope" thing, but i would also want to remind you all, if you kill yourself your mother will be devastated... your father as well, there is NO GREATER PAIN than loosing a child... so please, think about your parents when you consider something like that, they rather have you over all the money in the world
Ueno only like Shoya from then until now. Kawai only help Shoko from then until now. Bonus video is below; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mYu752yQBec.html Thanks.
all of this could have being avoided if their teatcher acctuly cared... but he was an ahole... he didnt adapt to the new girl, he bullied his own students, he didnt take acountability... that teatcher is EVERYTHING a teatcher should NOT be...
