Our Can Tho and Soc Trang Adventures continue as we continue to eat our way through South Vietnam, but also visit some stunning Pagodas and Temples in the area.
These temples are not easy to find on Google so we thought it would be helpful to share them here. After tons of research and choosing which specific ones to go to, we landed on these three! If you are in the area of South Vietnam, you will drive by hundreds of these stunning places.
1. Wat Pătum Wôngsa Som Rông
Being built over 600 years ago, Bôtum Vong Sa Som Rong or Som Rong pagoda is one of the most attractive destinations for the tourist when having a chance to visiting Soc Trang Province to explore its ancient Khmer temple architecture.
2. Sro Loun Pagoda (Chen Kieu Pagoda)
According to Trinh Tien, a member of the pagoda’s management board, the pagoda was erected in 1815 in a spacious area with lots of trees. It was damaged by war but was renovated in 1969. During the rebuilding, due to a lack of construction materials, monks came up with the inspiration of calling for donations of bowls and plates from local people for use in decorating the main building.
3. Ghositaram Bac Lieu Pagoda
In the Southwest, there are many beautiful and prominent temples but Ghositaram is still the most favorite destination. In addition to the record of the largest Khmer temple in Vietnam, Ghositaram also creates great virtual photos for visitors. The photos taken at the pagoda have a very unique beauty, making viewers easily think of the system of temples and palaces of Thailand.

We started our trip back in April 2, 2019 from New York City. We quit our 9-6 jobs, sold all of our belongings, and began traveling full time. We left our jobs because we were unable to be with family and enjoy life. Work was taking up too much time and something had to change. We saved up for 2 years and began traveling as soon as we found a deal that would take us around the world for just $285.00. We started this #travelvlog to share our adventures with friends and family. At the one year mark, we realized that we had only scratched the surface and there was still so much to see. We are so fortunate to be doing this every day. We hope you enjoy our content and will subscribe to our adventures.

Wow Soc Trang is my family’s home province!! That was the temple my family and I would always go to :’) also, it’s pronounced “Khmai.” You should learn more about the Khmer Krom people. We did so much research and ended up choosing these three to showcase! There are HUNDREDS to choose from and thank you for the comments about our shirts! You can see they are on our social media!

Awesome temple choices :) Each one was so unique and has such amazing history. We want to eventually head back and explore more of Vietnam, we also noticed they love lights and the cities look amazing at night :)

@@exploreaswego Haha I guessed correctly and not even sure how since I do not know what Taiwanese people are like, just a good random guess. I was searching for Vietnamese channels since I am Viet and found yours by chance. I admire your passion for being RU-vidrs and sure I will give you a needed sub. But let me be nosy and ask what funds you to travel at such a young age. Were you guys working high paying jobs straight out of college? Travel world 2019 until now, where u get the funds lol
