Thank you, I spent TWO HOURS trying to figure out how to do this and NOBODY except you either on RU-vid or on Google explained as well as you. Great video.
I have been for YEARS to figure out a problem I have : I have a document which has which has several sections and each section has "different first page". I am using continuous numbers at the bottom on the left and the right hand side. The problem is : every time a new section begins, the left and the right are not aligned. When I turn off the "different first page", the page numbers become correct. What's happening?
All these years later -- still super helpful instructions. I tried doing this for years, but your instructions were the first I could follow successfully. Great job!
THANK YOU!!! I so appreciate folks like you who take the time to create "how-to's" like this! I have struggled for years to figure this out; on-line sites have not been useful, and Microsofts Office help is anything but clear and concise!
Just "Thanks" is not enough. Such clear explanations combined with showing what you are doing, combined with a careful, unrushed' pace has earned you a FAVORITE designation. 1001 Thanks Ms. Makda and Washburn Law!!!
I dont know how to thank you, after watching so many tutorials and not getting it watched yours and achieved on the first try. Thank you so much ❤Its simple and straight forward
I already knew how to remove the page numbers from the cover by ticking the "Different First Page" option, but your tutorial helped me solve another issue I was having - removing them from the back cover. Excelent tutorial, very well explained and easy to follow. Well done!
I have been using Word forever and thought I knew all the functions. But it could not for the life of me figure out how to change page numbers just as you explained here in this video. It was exactly what I needed and very well explained. Thank you so much!
I'm an editor and I've spent hours trying to fix this problem, have watched countless tutorials, including Microsoft Office's, and you're the first person to explain how to actually do this. THANK YOU!!!
This is a very good, never simpler explained tutorial, and helped me to resolve the section breaking and multiple numbering I was struggling with for long. Many thanks for sharing the knowledge.
Not one to chime in on these, but this was incredibly helpful. Amazing that this is still relative after 9 years, lol. I usually can figure it out but with your guidance, it made it a great deal easier. Whew - glad I found this. Thank you for spending the time to do this Jewel!!
You're a gem, I have been using this for a few years now and always love coming back to refresh my skill on this when submitting different uni papers. Plus your voice is a bonus. Thanks.
OMG!! You have no idea how useful this video has been for me! Weeks trying to number my word doc this way! I also learned how to use these blocks when having portrait and landscape orientation! You're the best! Thanks!!!

2:02 this is what exactly I wanted on thesis, I spent hours in removing page numbers from the title page but every time I was deleting on other chapters. Thanks for making this clip, deserves to be subscribed.
Thank you so much for this, I spent 3 to 4 hours that how to number the pages and it was frustrating, now you are one good teacher, who taught me how to correct the number pages, and it worked
Many thanks! I still have to go try it out myself in a minute, but I've been screwing around with this for hours before I decided to look for a video. It's very helpful.
Thank you so much for your most helpful tutorial. You explained it in very simplistic terms, unlike the help directions from microsoft which contained tons of ambiguities in its instruction. I left work yesterday trying to accomplish just this, and came back with fresh eyes this morning....still to no avail, but with the start of a massive headache! Then you walked me thru what turned out to be a very easy procedure; thank you, thank you, thank you!
THANK YOU!!! Spent so long trying to figure out this technology, Microsoft Word Simple and Freaken Complicated at the same time!! Thanks for making this super clear and to the point!!
YOU have saved my job!! Thank you!!! I've watched other tutorials, (including Microsoft's...ugh!) and this is the ONLY one that made sense to me. It's brevity is also a huge plus! Heckuva job!!
Thank you! Phew!! After days of trying several video tutorials, I was unable to get the desired result. This was the best tutorial - simple and clear instructions. Thank you and God bless
Thanks a lot. I had done this before but hadn't understood the process and did it mechanically as instructed. But your video made me understand how to do it again with a lot of ease and I understood the process well because your explanation was crystal clear.
My lord! Thanks so much! You are the only one that explained so clear. I now have been able to add my numbers starting at a different page. THANKSSSSS SOOOOOO MUCHOOOOOO

I couldn't find this video earlier, and was soooooooooooooooo disappointed as I thought you had pulled it. Thank God! I live by this tutorial. It literally is the best step-by-step explanation on Turabian page numbering that there is. Thank you for this vid!
Thank you so much for this video! I had messed up the page numbers in the document really badly, because of the section breaks. I was so frustrated trying to fix it! Thanks to your video, I figured it out! Thanks again!
Thank you very much! I could never have figured that out. I played with trying to do that for over an hour before a friend said, "Look on youtube." Very informative video and professionally done.
I've reviewed a lot of tutorials trying to format those *&^%#!@#!! page numbers the right way. None of the other tutorials was as clear and easy to follow as this one. Great job and now my coworkers can take out their earplugs.
Thanks for your lucid instructions, and for sparing me the endless frustration of trying to navigate Microsoft's convoluted way of making simple things insufferably complex!
It definitely helped. When i google searched, the self help instructions i got at first weren't worded well for me and i was still confused. But after watching this video i managed to format the numbering with ease. Thank you.
Oh my, thank you very much. I struggled with my B.A research paper even after looking this up and now only in my M.A thesis am I understanding how to format pages properly. No one explains it the way you do, not even Microsoft themselves. Esp the show/hide part.
Thank you so much. Your video has helped me getting my document done after I have spent hours before trying to figure it out. Your explanations are excellent and your voice is easy to understand.
My header section 1 is immediately on top of footer section. My issue was resolved by deleted ALL page breaks first and then was able to follow this. AWESOM work Washburnlaw! :)
Thank you ever so much. This has really been helpful. I have spent hours trying to figure out the help in microsoft help but this is straightforward and simple. I sorted the problem in 5 minutes!!! Much obliged, thank you very much once again!
