Trey Indica she was stating her opinion, but you are just hating. Before you say I’m a hypocrite, I’m just stating the facts and you need to stop being racist.
You obviously never been to Tahoe ... It's the bluest lake in the world. There are massive regulations to boats and water craft. But I agree 75 mil should get you your own dock and small private beach.
In the master bedroom: "It is so private that nobody can see into this part of the house" Some random dude in his boat on the lake with binoculars: wuz gud
@@frankg1969 While that might be true during the day due to ambient sun light glare off the glass and especially true if there is a reflective mirror tint on the glass. All bets are off though at night time though as you can see right into the room if the lights are on. When you hear the term "One Way Glass" (or one way mirror as some refer to it as) like that used for interrogation rooms or witness lineup rooms, its just a very thin highly reflective film on the glass that requires one side to be relatively well lit and the other side relatively dark. The dark side can see into the lit side but not the other way... So when the room is lit at night, I have zero doubt that some outside couldn't see into the room. Edit: if you look at like 8:48 / 8:49, its dusk and all the lights are on inside both houses and the view from the drone footage clearly shows that you can see in. With that said, from low elevations (like from the lake surface), the angle from the surface of the lake to inside the rooms would be such that unless someone was close to the glass itself, they are not going to be easily seen but my original comment about a telescope from the other side of the lake (especially if up from the lakes surface) still stands.
@@frankg1969 Yeah, as I watched the video again, I can tell that it has a mirror film on it but my night time comment still stands. And if you haven't seen it (I think I finish it at the same time as your reply), please see my edit in that previous post about the one way glass.
total stella I think it reflects the native habitat with pine cones for cabinet knobs and the twigs for the bannisters. We had a cabin that was hand built by my dad and others, but much more rustic back in the 60's. No running water, but we did have a pump in the kitchen sink for water. I remember it nestled in the trees. We had brass beds and other older cast off furniture, so maybe they were trying to recreate their childhood on a grander scale. My great-grandparents had a Victorian home and I still prefer their original furniture to the modern stuff and appreciate well crafted woodwork and art like the sculptures in this house.
I like it, but it does seem like they havent re-decorated since the year it was built. Also for 75mill you'd expect an infinity pool, boat dock with a couple of jetskis or at least a marble bench top with 2 fridges in the kitchen
Yeah, I'm shocked that so many people hate it. Don't they realize that the house is supposed to have a woodland aesthetic? I didn't like everything about the decoration, but overall, I thought the designer did a good job on the property.
I grew up in Lake Tahoe and went to a couple of the mansions there and MAN, I just don’t get it with everyone’s architecture taste! I think all the houses I’ve been in are HORRID! Idk maybe I’m just not a “log cabin” kind of feel lover, but I just hate all the interior design choices. WAY too tacky for my taste, but hey, I’m not exactly the target market 😅🤷♀️
Even though a lot of people don’t like the decorations, I really like them! They look like they put a lot of love and care into making it the coziest place it could be. You could bet I’d be playing oldies music nonstop in there.
exactly, not everything is perfect but sure it was decorated decades ago. i wouldn’t change everything, only a few items (not me talking like i have 75 million to buy it lol)
I’m surprised with all that money put in, they didn’t create direct access to the lake. Or a deck to harbor their own boats. Instead, you would have to climb over all those massive boulders.
In many parts of the lake, you are not allowed to add decks or piers into the Lake. Not unless they have been there and as a result are grandfathered in.
I agree, the person that decorated this really had a weird sense of style that I don't like either and they made the house feel cluttered even though we know it's big it's weird. It also could be how it was filmed that makes it look more cluttered as well I'm a learning filmmaker and I've noticed when I found my RU-vid videos in my room the angle that I film things that can make the room look smaller than it is or bigger it's so. And if you don't know about that then you can really make a room look weird. So maybe this is a combination of a bunch of people that don't really know what they're doing being told that they know things but they don't really know LOL. Honestly there's so many trust fund babies that just gets hold yes all the time that they end up being really shity at things and I wonder if one of them decorated this house. Or you know they get into college because their parents just paid for it and I think this stuff makes our whole country worse. We really need to start questioning these people and if they know what they're really doing with all the power that they have that maybe we should take away. Sometimes we aren't mature enough for power
i love the old fashion feel, the art is beautiful and it feels like a cute nerdy house, it seems good for somebody who likes an old style and the outdoors. personally, i hate modern houses they are far too open and they just end up having too much extra space, the amount of walls in this house makes it cozy still with tons of windows for views, its just amazing i love it
Me too! As someone who visits Tahoe yearly, it's the same style (obviously more extravagant) as the cabins in South Lake Tahoe. I see everyone shitting on the bedsheets but to me it's an homage to the classic cabin vibe
Yeah, I don't see why everyone is insulting it in the comments. I really like it. Obviously, some things need tweaking (those bedsheets though) , but the new owner can do that. I really like it too.
One thing that's good about this being tucked into the hillside, A safe haven when the Zombie apocalypse happens... I lived in North shore yrs ago and yes it's ridiculous stupid prices for something that eventually will be abandoned. It's an eye sore and just a place for others to make a huge profit. It's just a house not a castle in england. btw, Castles are a lot cheaper then this monstrosity of antique crap.
@@PotatosPotatoes A recession happens approximately every 10 years. We were due for ours in 2018ish, but even Moody does not expect it until late 2020 or sometime in 2021 at the earliest. At this rate, Trump will only "tank" the economy if he gets reelected. Is that what you are looking for?
If I had the money, I'd buy it with some mates, decorate it, and then probably live in it until the end of time. It's so pretty on the outside but the decor needs some SERIOUS help-
It's right on border between California and Nevada, but built in Nevada, very good move for billionaires who care about taxes (all of em) 0 income tax, sales tax is quite high ~8%, but still lower than Cali
Agreed on the ugliness of the decor... but... if you are the agent, and the previous homeowner has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on kitschy animal carvings, what do you do? And if you're not getting offers, how long before you risk loss of the listing by suggesting the carvings should be put in storage?
Imagine if the tram quit working for some reason or another, and you were stuck in the guest house; that is a ton of steps that you would have to climb to get back to the main house.
Not all trees are cut while alive. I think that this had probably some protected status. Although, look back in history and see all the majestic sequoias that were cut down long before I was born. You can still hike among them and climb on their stumps.
I have no idea what that smell would smell like...my great ma was never THAT rich....but wait...perhaps these structures are really owned by the banks holding all that mortgage that these show off people could no longer afford to keep up their payments for. Or: The owners have so much money they don't know what to do with it all....they got tired of it so quickly because the interiors were poorly designed/decorated. Perhaps they are selling to settle a divorce ...money ain't everything!
Maybe we're expected to pool all of our money that we'd just spend on lattes, anyways, and buy his house? We could each live in it, one day every five years.
@@randallglyph3288 $38,356 per person to live in this house for one day every five years. 1,825 people. I'm totally down if you can find the other 1,824
@@worldbyjay k well that explains a lot. Still, if you're gonna sell your house for that much, I'm sure they can afford to bring in an interior designer
yeah I thought there would be a water slide, at least from the beach house, and then stairs that would take you up like 1 flight, that then would get you to a lift that would take you back up to the beach house. And secondly, I am disappointed that there is no pool anywhere in that structure. There should be at least a lap pool there, besides just a fricken hot tub. That would make the house truly worth some $$$$$
Of course you’d then have to find a way to pay the yearly property taxes and minimum overhead upkeep utilities etc, I’d guess at least 750,000 per year
"This legacy family home belongs to sellers Stuart and Geri Yount, chairman and CEO of Fortifiber, a family-owned business that sells building materials. The Younts bought the land in 1994 and built the 8 bedroom main house over a period of five years and completed construction of the beach house and a two-bedroom guesthouse in July 2016." www.ifitshipitshere.com/crystal-pointe-estate/
I know part of me luvs it for that. I mean little bears in the gardens it's just too good- my grandkids would never leave it's like Harry Potter does Co.
How is this not in good taste? What's better taste? Some penthouse in NYC for the same price where the only interesting thing in the place is the chrome footing on the kitchen island? Get real, dude. Watch this one more time and tell me this house isn't one of the dopest places you've seen.
@@TheTwistedMystic I agree the house itself it’s beautiful but the furnishings and finishes are extremely dated. Apparently, almost 300 people agree with me 🤷🏻♀️
ThumperBros - almost no one becomes billionaire simply through hard work anymore. The majority of mega-wealth in this country is inherited. Then there are some rare fluke billionaires like Mark Zuckerface or the Amazon/Twitter/Snapchat/etc founders...
When you look at the rest of the furniture selections that aren't in the study, beach house, and game rooms, that singing fish is the best thing there. It is an icon that transcends social class.
I currently work installing high end appliances. In my experience, the people who can afford to spend 5 million dollars on a beach house and $100,000 on kitchen appliances are usually elderly or at least middle aged. At least that's how the economy worked out for previous generations. The decor of the house in this video likely matches the age of the occupants.
House is too close toa busy road too. Also, how the hell do you even get to the moorings? I couldnt see any kind of on site access to it. A smarter architect wouldve built a boat house into the basement of the guest house.
yeah, what im thinking is the owner thought of everything so maybe by law in that location they cant have one ? or maybe there is one but they just thought its a given and dont need to show it. im curious. no way would someone with this much money not have a dock.
I was thinking that too! Especially the fact that there are no blinds or curtains in the bedrooms so you’d have to sleep looking at the darkness outside
So there are probably 40 people in the whole world that could afford to buy this place and out of those 40 only 3 would acually want to buy it. That's my guess.
The property and views are stunning, but as people point out the decor is tired and dated. The good news is though if you can afford $ 75 Million then you can probably also afford to decorate. Maybe someone will offer $ 73 Million and will use the rest to modernise the decor.
the former billionaire who lived there was alone in this big house. The winter is very cold and long. Heating costs have to be studied carefully. $75M? After two years of not being sold the price will eventually go down to $5M.
Microscopic market with about 1 Billionaire every 3.5million people. Love the fantasy of owning this house but Most are happy being normal simple n average, just reality.
The camera work was frustrating throughout the whole thing. Too many quick cuts and random shots at the ceiling. There are other real estate channels that slowly walk through the house allowing you to see things with perspective. Why not do that here?
Whxsper Dream big and figure out how to flip money! Don’t be afraid to fail! If your dreams don’t scare you, their probably not big enough. Those who say “they can” and those who say “they can’t” are usually both right!
it's like when they were making the house, they thought "how can we make this house even more expensive"- oh i know, let's HAND PAINT the toe line for darts.. wth???
These comments are hilarious! This is the best one yet!!! So true!!! So honest!!! I would toss out all the furniture... add some color to the walls! Repaint or lacquer the outside... make it more rustic and natural... like a huge effin cabin in the woods! Bill Gates would buy it “as is”! Put some plants inside, warm it up a bit... add some personality to it! It looks like a sterile doctors office! Gawd! Anyone who would buy this is not anyone I would want to know. Utterly wasteful!
