Yeah, it would be easy to make. Just a continuous feed printer, a cutter for the silhouette and a spooling machine at the end :D The only problem here would be timing all those elements, but I don't think that's insurmountable.

@DeboraCSimao
@DeboraCSimao 6 лет назад
Hello there Ali .T ! Thanks! To do that first you need to have a Google account (which you already have if you commented here ^^), then go to the video that you want to add the subtitle, click on the option engine, then click on subtitles, and finally select add subtitle. The youtube platform already has an online program to manage the subtitles, and you can contribute by translating or transcribing! After sending out your contribution youtube collaborators will analyse, correct and/or approve it to be published, which may take some weeks. Simple like that ;)

The mask ones mentioned Ultrasonic Sewing. Although there is heating, it is not enough to melt the base materials, which is why it's so interesting, I remember looking up how exactly they made masks once when I had the flu. I think that'd be a awesome machine to look at as all the videos I've found are in another language or company promos.

Same here. Scotty's videos made me seriously change my mind on "Made in China". I already knew most common high end products were manufactured in China but I gained a whole lot of respect for the individual businesses over there. I really like how industrious the Chinese are. They really seem to take pride in their work and I truly appreciate it.

People want more stuff that's made in the USA but to compete with China, we have to be about as lax for the concern of the environment, being as parasitic to our environment as they are over there, and build structures which are just as big which aren't solely warehouses. I think this is how Amazon rules the US, the big structures here are for mail sorting and merchandise holding, but hardly ever for much of anything else... not on the scale China has, anyway. _And we use most of the same stuff they make._

People in the US complain about products "made in China" but your videos really show a completely different story and it's just so cool to see. Linus from LTT recently did a walkthrough for the new OnePlus pre production and its just so amazing to see all of the steps involved in these prodcuts that until seeing videos like these I personaly have taken for granted without putting much thought into everything that goes into manufacturing. For me seeing all of this is just eye opening to all the things I dont know and is a huge driving point to make me want to learn more. The manufacturing process is really cool and its just sad that we dont have anything here in the US like the markets in china. RU-vidrs like you and Louis Rossmann really do a great job of showing what goes into these products and what it takes to build and repair them and hats off to the people who do this and recycle so much hardware that would otherwise be distroyed thanks to companies like apple.

Marshall - No, this doesn't show the whole story. This just shows a marketplace. He needs to go film in the actual factories way out in the countryside to get a better understanding of how the West cannot compete with East Asia. And I don't mean PR-friendly and approved OnePlus assembly factories. I'm talking the real factories that do dirty work...material refinement, bulk casting, forging operations, molding, etc.
@stevzou5940
@stevzou5940 5 лет назад
@@cup_and_cone those are for local domestic market I believe. I don't know how they affect competitors abroad. There are plenty of factories which comply with international codes in China. Many of them spends a good fortune to be certificateed so their products can be sold to EU and US. Besides, It's also the importers' responses to make sure their suppliers comply with codes. Please don't buy things from untrustworthy importers and brands and let those sweat shop die out.

@StrangeParts
@StrangeParts 6 лет назад
We definitely noticed this too. This market was super deserted. We had entire sections to ourselves, and saw very few other buyers. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's just the nature of this type of wholesale market. Deals can be quite large (tens of thousands of USD), so you don't need that many buyers to make a profit. And how many people in the world are shopping for an injection molding machine at any given time?

I sell plastics processing equipment. It'a a fascinating process particularly the manufacture of the PET bottles you touched on in your video. I suggest you follow the entire process with a manufacturer. Start at the plastic granules, mould manufacture perhaps, injection moulding of the preforms, blowing of the bottles, filling with the drink. Then granulation of the bottle back into granules, crystallisation of the PET (You can't remould it whilst it's in its amorphous state). The full circle back to being made into a bottle again. Great channel keep up the good work.

Scotty, Have you ever found manufacturers of 'cold cast polyresin' figurines? I used to sell a bunch of Chinese made figurines (dragons, wizards, skulls, etc) that are your typical 'flea market' items. They are probably cast in bulk, but are obviously hand painted individually. Does the big market you are visiting have any manufacturers there? Just subbed, loving your videos!

Hey Scotty. I was thinking... One kind of manufacturing that I'm really fascinated by is "bootleg" video games. China is still pumping out new, unlicensed games for the NES and other really old consoles. You've probably seen the kind of games I'm talking about. The "10000 in 1" cartridges with random NES games and sprite-hacks of super mario. For me, it's as if these games just materialize out of nothingness, but I know they're manufactured somewhere in China, I just have no clue how or even why. Who makes the cartridges? Who makes the software that goes ON the cartridges? Obviously business like that would be highly illegal over here in the western world, which is part of why I'm so fascinated by it. I'd really love to see you take a look at that kind of manufacturing.

at 3:37 Your response ‘我知道’ (I understand) is not correct, which actually means that you ‘already knew‘. A correct response shall be ‘原来如此’ (I see). That means: "Oh, I see now". 101 Chineses.....lol

Mhm, the way people come up with these moving systems... basically iteratively and looking at what people have done, and there are of course big books of known existing mechanisms and motion system designs. Automatic looms have existed for a couple centuries now! The classic "507 movements" book is one and a half centuries old now and the website to the book is probably among the first to grace the Internet, and it's still around.

You should visit Surat city in India. Surat is known as the textile hub of the nation or the Silk City of India & it is also known as "Diamond City" as world's 90% diamonds are cut/polished in here. So you can get 2 major markets of india within one city along with it's historical values :)

I might suggest you try the simplest project possible when you assemble your first machine, everything is lego, but the processes tend to be infuriating, fabric wrinkle, pneumatic grabber don't grab, the product is transparent to the sensor, the pneumatic rejector blows the empty bag into another part of the machine. And also most of the machine is generic lego, but some components of the machine are actually one trick ponies with only one provider in the world like a grabber for zipper or things like that, so sourcing could be complicated. There is more than meet the eyes.

you should build yourself an automated assembly line that stamps out and presses metal into small key-chain tags with the strange parts logo on it. That would be very cool

nice- I made it to Yiwu but didn't find that building only consumer stuff. Btw those blow molding blanks are called "preforms". Not all blow molding machines use that method. The vertical spindle braider design dates from the 1800s, literally. I have spent many hours operating them (in Canada, back when we made things).

I'd love to see something like the RongFu factory, where metal milling machines are made. Cast iron, machining, assembly and testing. I wonder where Harbor Freight gets its stuff. Beam us there, Scotty. P.S: That music was downright satanic; playing backwards and making you feel just...wrong. LOL

If you have any idea, tell me.... how can I get the exact "real-time 3D coordinate" of any object in space & by which sensor or camera? By Vicon or OptiTrack, can I get the "Real 3D coordinates of an object" in its range? help me, someone, ASAP..

"Yiwu Sanitary Ware Market" i'm googling what i can. does this play create toilet paper of charmin quality which can be printed upon? meme-toilet-paper would be a good business opportunity. "because going to the bathroom is a political opportunity" "treat images of those who treat you like shit, with your shit" "wipe away civil unrest, in the most unexpected place" "you didn't think you were a one square kind of person, until now." "TP so moist, you will say 'noice'" also prank bidets "make your friends think your house is haunted" "a new motion sensor is built in, so the toilet can pee back!" "rise of the indignant toilets"

@Strange Parts 14:05 How about making PCB boards? Something electronics related, but thinking of your type of content, you could probably create something to make plastic-based PCB boards with copper traces and such... would just need something to make the plastic base, cut to shape, then apply copper to it... plus you have the contacts for learning more and finding the materials.

What to build? I've built a 3d printer made out of single parts that I've ordered mostly on Aliexpress and they surprisingly mostly came from dealers located in Shenzen. Each single part shipped to Germany and it took ages (about 3 months) until my first calibration took place, but it works! How about that? And it will help you in your future projects, in case you need any special parts, with the feeling and the confidence that you made it yourself.

I might be next 'surveying the defecational behavior in ursine creatures', but you could do this for a living - fully. I don't know the cost of living in Shenzhen, but if it's similar to Thailand (was there recently, a magical place.), you could drop anything else you were doing and just buy random machines to do random projects and basically do youtube videos on those + do a small run of the final product as a limited offer for a reasonable price to have some seed money for your next machine, that does different things:) Basically an extended version of 'how it's made' - with a direct option of procurement if interested =)

How about some sort of fabric machine so you can sell the product in the end? I was thinking t-shirts first, but that might actually need a bunch of manual labour. But how about something like phone cases made from plastic? Probably one machine could do several phone backs if you have different molds for the popular phones. Nice stranger parts logo pressed into it. I would buy. Should be possible to just put it in some AliExpress stores warehouse and have it shipped from china, or place it in Amazon warehouses in the countries were most your viewers are in. Cool project, i would buy.
