I met my first flat earther recently. Before that, I wasn't sure there was really a flat earth movement. I thought it was just a trend of people trolling for fun by pretending to be flat earther.
I did too until this madness penetrated a family member. It's utterly crazy. The reason they want to believe is because it allows them to believe a Bible verse in an English translation in a physical word for word form. It's easier for them to believe the earth is flat than to believe that James IV advisors' collections of Christian writings could have errors or mistranslations or even be meant to be interpreted.

I was taught a food pyramid that they still teach kids about. Now it's upside down from what I was taught though. We continue to learn new things about the things we thought we already knew, and we're taught in schools.

Except there are proofs of a round Earth. Flat earthers don’t believe the earth is flat because of faith. Mostly it has to do with the way they think. They really want to believe they know something most people don’t. Which is why they believe in so many conspiracies.

Doubt it. As someone who has been part of the flat earth movement for at least a year, I have never heard them make that claim. There seems to be a pattern among Ba'al earthers of lying about flat earthers. Probably to discredit the movement.

Some conspiracy theories are so stupid that it begs a question is it even really a conspiracy theory or rather some social experiment. I have my own conspiracy theory, the only one which feels plausible to me, that all conspiracy theories which exist are really foreign psychological warfare waged (mostly) on Internet, were foreign powers invest professional intellectual logistical support (science of making lies and nonsense sound plausible) plus financial support either to their own front entity or more often just some existing useful idiot. Flat Earth theory however is so stupid, it almost looks like an experiment (a test) how nonsensical something can be for idiots to buy it.
I am also seeing a very strong connection there. We are witnessing how mass indoctrination works and how it spreads like a cancer in the thinking process of a victim.
