In this video, we took a walk around Pasar Senen, which is a huge traditional market in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.
We had a great time exploring the different areas of the market where they sell fruits, vegetables, and cakes. We also tried many different foods along the way.
Afterwards we visited a nearby street to try nasi kapau.

Actually the biggest traditional market in Jakarta is Pasar Induk Kramat Jati. That market is for retail and grocer also. Ton of fruits & vegetables coming from across Indonesia & other countries (for import fruit). Really gigantic market. You should go there, in the night, you will be surprised.

hahahha the Bronx! (this is Rob) I'm from Long Island in New York, but my family immigrated from Italy to New York in the early 1900s. They went straight to the Bronx and opened up a traditional Italian bakery that's still open to this day. Most of my family is there and I usually visit every year for Christmas. Pasar waktu malam memang murah murah, yang beli biasanya pedagang sayur keliling jadi pagi harinya mereka jual di kampung kampung atau gang, atau pedagang tempat makan seperti warteg dan nasi padang belinya disitu, jadi harga murah murah dan semua bahan ada.

Enjoy your Nasi Kapau. I cannot stand being in Pasar Senen too long, it's hot and too crowded😅. My late mom used to buy veggies and spices for her catering there when I was a kid. While dad love to go to old books stalls area to buy reading materials. But that area has been moved long time ago.
