Here's everything we know so far about Alaska Airlines flight 1282 that had to make an emergency landing when a defective door plug of the aircraft ripped off in flight. I used to work for Boeing. As soon as I pointed out the SAFETY Flaws (many), I was let go. They even told me "Don't Be So Neat Picking" and asked me to revise the document. IF I was asked to testify in the Congress, I would. Lack of Leadership at Boeing. There are so many Managers .. a Manager has his manager and his manager has another manager to report to. 3 freaking steps to report to 3 different managers. Red Tapes at Boeing !!

@randy1189 I feel like Alaska should have kept their older Airbus a320-200 and the new a321neo the new 737 max is a disaster only the older 737-800 is good

Yep and sometimes people drop them off the couch onto the carpet and the screen cracks. Sooo many factors, but in this case I guess it just bounced on the grass and maybe landed on its back side which spreads impact over a larger surface area. What puzzles me is how the finder managed to access the phone? Even in airplane mode surely by default the phone will auto lock after a while and require pin/biometric to access?

I'm sure you know that what you've said isn't true, but for others who may be reading, it was Alaska Airlines who downgraded the aircraft from ETOPS status, not Boeing. Also, the only reason that water was mentioned is because Alaska Airlines only has ETOPS routes over water. There are some ETOPS routes that stay over land, but not in the part of the world were Air Alaska flies.

@@Part_121but the door didn’t come off and there was a warning to pilots as well. Boeing no warning or anything, after their MCAS problem they can longer be trusted
@Part_121
@Part_121 8 месяцев назад
@@meatballq6801 As far as I know, no one had officially provided the maintenance records for this aircraft's complete history since Alaska Airlines took delivery. Many airlines, I worked for 2 of them, take their brand new planes straight to a 3rd party maintenance company for modifications, before the plane makes its first revenue flight. Some of the larger airlines will park it on the ramp and do modifications themselves. This particular tail did not go into service for several days after delivery, so you can bet someone, other than Boeing, was doing some sort of work to it. The "auto-pressurization" warning lights don't necessarily mean anything. Most of the time they will get that light due to a faulty pressurization controller, of which there are 3. In all previous flights, when the auto-pressurization light came on, they were able to still pressurize the airplane and continue the flight, by having the FO control the pressure manually. A physical pressure leak should still leak, regardless of the pressurization controller doing the work, so, while the lights could be related to the door, no one would consider that when troubleshooting a brand new plane. This is why NTSB investigations take a year to complete. Nothing can be assumed.

What is this trend of building newer planes ? we've flown B737 , B747 , B767 , Airbus A300 , A320 etc... for decades , they made their proof , there's just a few tweaks and hardware upgrades needed . But now ,whether it is Boeing or Airbus , they are building new planes with weird alloy that melts like ice when flames lick them , in addition to that, they put tons of electronics and unreliable sensors on their new planes , it is not a surprise if pilots get confused in the cockpit and crash their plane

No sir. You didn’t open up a random passenger’s phone and see confirmation that it was from the flight. You don’t have said random passenger’s passcode. Virtually nobody leaves their phone without some sort of unlock code. Media sensationalizing it and making people say things that aren’t true on camera. You also expect me to believe that a teen took a selfie with a random passenger in the middle of a crisis.

1 out of 4 bolts missing, it is quality issue. If 2 out of 4 bolts missing, maybe it is big quality issue. If ALL 4 bolts missing, it is a sabotage. If you understand airplane installation and parts distribution procedure, when the install worker with hand full of extra bolts, he didn't forget to installing it. I hope FBI involve in investigation. I don't believe repeated error and omittions. It is NOT hard at all to find who/the worker was responsible to install this door panel.
@user-yt198
@user-yt198 8 месяцев назад
If you cannot find a single worker's sloppy work, or alleged sabotage with quality control, that is even worse. No sir, there is no sabotage. Everyone knows that production is rushed to meet the targets because of stock value of the company. "Our top priority is quality", my ass! Your top priority is profits.
