As someone who just recently had an accident. Parts availablity is part of the reason and some adjusters are looking at photos only and then determining if they’re totaled or not. I’m local to you and dealing with Allstate with my 2014 F350. No one physically looked at the truck. They looked at photos and the adjuster is on the east coast.

I just bought a w123 240d manual yesterday. Slow as dirt but a solid old car with that same blue interior.

That poor Charger needs to be saved, dual quads and a blower... I bet that was a blast to drive. I own a 66 Charger with a built 440 big block and its an amazing car. Too bad that one was all taped up, the interior and dash is one of the coolest parts of the first gens.

That old Merc wagon is simply one of the greatest cars EVER made. I almost bought one just like it, same color, met the owner, told him it would be great to prep it for vegetable oil, lo and behold, he said it had been running exclusively on filtered restaurant grease for several years, complete with French dry smelling exhaust and clean water to boot! It just was t to be for me as I would have wanted to store it, but couldn’t. Not fast, but it will get going pretty well. I had my mom’s old ‘84 300D Turbo Diesel sideways a few to many times, when it spooled up the power kicked in hard. Old Pirellis and wet roads were no match for 5 cylinders of turbo Merc terror. 100 mph cruising was like butter. Moms was a sedan, but I worship wagons, as evidenced by my old 1968 Country Squire and my 2006 Magnum RT, black, naturally, bought new, lifetime bumper to bumper warranty from Chrysler. It’s a lifer. So would be that Merc.
