raw un edited footage from the day we sat down to interview Andy Anderson for his segment "You Should Know" in issue 2. click the link below to download issue 2 today.
The energy that flows through Andy is only here and now, and that's the beauty of what he expresses through the skating. He's a fuckn mystic, with a skateboard
I am a 50 year old dude who have skated about 10 times in my life, but watching Andy Anderson skate is so cool. I recognise something special when I see it. Great talent, cool guy, and he’s radiating a rare kind of positive attitude. (He’s Canadian, right)?
I met Andy at Tampa pro,and I still think he should have made the finals.I told him he got robbed, and he was sooo stoked to have gotten knocked out by Shane. He's a rare breed for sure.
Andy's 80's style, his attitude and that helmet is the best thing I've seen for the skating community since Tony Hawk bringing our community to the globe.
I live vicariously through this kid!!!! Andy, your skating and personality speaks for itself and is meant to be. Words can not come close to describe how happy I am to see Powell re bounce as strong as you all have. LONG LIVE POWELL PERALTA!!!!
I'm 37 and after watching a few different Andy videos I've never seen. I'm thinking Powell is bad ass again like it used to be. I used to have the black board with the skull ripping threw. It was dope
I have so much respect for this guy.. he seems so real, genuine.. just good ppl. I would rather see a helmet over the image nyjah has given skateboarding.. so commercial. Best of luck to Andy ✌
Totally agree and in fact I was thinking about those two today. Nyjah's skills are undeniable, but this Dan Bilzerian-like persona he has created through social media etc just doesnt vibe with me. I am much more ''jealous'' lets say of the purity and genuine way of life Andy demonstrates all the time and I think his personality really can rub off on people in a positive way. The way it seems to me, Nyjah is about money and excess and Andy is all about life itself. Both respactable, but I would choose Andy to be the face of the sport in an instant.
It blew my mind to learn Andy started at the same age nyjah did. The problem with nyjah is his dad completely fuck his mind up with the mind set that second place is first loser and what not.
Even if you may not understand why he wears a helmet when he skates, it doesn't give anyone the right to pass that kind of judgment around the community, spreading negativity. Maybe he just wants to be prepared for anything when he's on his board. I mean just look at the way he skates so free form using everything in his path an obstacle. That shows in everything he does. Not just skateboarding. He's such an inspiration. We should be encouraging him. I believe all of this negativity will soon pass because he is protected by the most powerful force in the universe and he deserves nothing but love from those within arms reach. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDY!!!!
I first saw a powell video of him and didn't think much of it. But then I saw a Braile video of him showing the dude's tricks and talking, then I had to watch more videos of him. He really is a special dude.
Bro andy is such an inspirational type of person all around not just as a skater but a down right dope person he’s totally changed my perspective on life itself
Love the real uncut interview. Shows the person who they are for real. It's better than the crisp clean fake crap that we have to endure everyday. Thanks for sharing.
Fully support the helmet. TBI is no joke. Respect for setting the right example. Abby is awesome, that is the dream. 💯 skate to skate! I started skating at 41. You don't do that unless it is about the skateboarding. If it ever felt like work, I would quit skating. Real down to earth dude. Appreciate the raw clips. There are a million skate videos of tricks but, getting to know the skaters is what gives their skating context.
Love ya bro! Simple wisdom beyond your years. I'm impressed........ Inspiring an old dude from the 80s to sk8 and therefore live again! Thank you Andy and co.
Its impossible to not love Andy Anderson. The dude is intelligent beyond normality, unique beyond comparison, and has more talent than anyone whos ever slept in an ambulance.
Consider me signed up for 'AA' today, this fool is legit AF & my new FAV of the week, it's always forever changing, too many heads are just too sick anymore these days!!
This video was beyond rad. There is a group of skaters in Massachusetts called “The Vulture Crew” (check them on IG)! They LOVE Andy- and hopefully will keep wearing Helmets forever 🙏
Regarding the discussion about Andy and his helmet, I already feel like a bit of a relic being a skater that doesn't wear a helmet. I like to keep in touch with the new skaters cuz I love teaching people and every time I figure out something new I feel like I need to show someone else so they can figure it out too. Newer skaters are starting to get on each other's case about not wearing a helmet. It's wild af to me.
tampa pro is what brought me here. amazing skater. hopefully some sponsorships come his way. I've never agreed with the living on the road lifestyle, but i don't knock it. keep doing great things kid and be safe
thanks for checking us out!! lot more content on the way! Tampa 2020 premieres on Sunday!if youre feeling the content we would really appreciate the subscribe!
Andy is my favorite skater, for sure. I hope he rocks his helmet forever. I'll always wear my helmet too. It's like just because I am a good driver, I don't wear my seatbelt anymore. I always wear it because anything can happen. It just takes one small fluke to turn someone into a vegetable.
ever since i saw andy i started using helmet too, i have 2 helmets, a brain saver for bowl and big transitions and a smaller and more simple helmet that i can fit a hat inside for street, that became the way i do things and its cool in my own way because i am the only helmet head around, it definelly helps boost confidence since i know i will never die unles a car hits me.
@Nebula originally the head was the safest part of the body since is a small target and is away from the ground and is easier to cool our heavy brains etc. but as we invented balance based sports we kind of screwed with anatomy so helmet is the way to go.
@@chriskunce3331 I use a helmet intended for scooter bikes, is very low profile the brand is Voss or boss, I can't remember well right now, but that helmet is super confortable, I can fit any cap inside, but since is a bike type helmet it doesn't have transpiración holes, so you gotta endure a bit more sweat, but the hat absorbs the sweat anyway, so you better buy a few caps because they get very dirty almost every session.
Between his Powell VCJ helmet skull graphic and his unique style of helmet, he’s instantly recognizable when you see him skate. I even saw a pic or clip of him doing something without a helmet and it didn’t look right. Was just off 🤷♂️
