Outstanding ! ! And huge thanks for this great insider view of B&W . . . their passion is reflected in the awesome products they make in each price range . . . definitely "my most admired loudspeaker specialist". Looking forward to experiencing the new B&W 700 series in person.
@MAD GRUMPYMAN Yes, exactly my feeling. Unfortunately, most of my favorite music may not have been recorded or mastered very well and can get shrill at volume. Just when I think I need to move on, a good recording convinces me otherwise. I still may move on to something with a slightly more forgiving tweeter - or go all in on Magnepan! Happy New Year.
I have the 802 matrix series 3 with troels gravenson crossover upgrade. Love these speakers But I will have a pair of Nautilus one day. Outstanding video.
There are two ways to engineer a great cabinet loudspeaker. Put the work into the x-over or the individual drivers. B&W, as the guy said, the fewer x-over components, the better.
The new carbon driver cones appear to be a big departure from the Kevlar cones. Kudos to Bowers & Wilkins on moving speaker technology forward once again.
Its interesting that the cherry N802 are made of laminated beech which you can see on the edge profile but the block ones are made of MDF which you cant discern in the same way.
Awesome, anyone got a spare £24000, and are moving to Queensland Australia, ? ....... Thanks Bowers and Wilkins, I love seeing this kinda stuff, keep it comin'. Cheers 🇦🇺 I'll now crank my DM604 s3 and sweet ASW 675 ✌🏼
Interesting ... still love my 803s after more than 20 years. Upgrading to d3 is tempting but prices have indeed taken off, and what to do with my old love then?
No question that B&W make great speakers - particularly at this wallet-busting end of the spectrum - but personally I found the Magico factory vid more impressive,.
They're beautiful speakers for for an average Joe or person like me cannot afford expensive speaker cabinet that you build I know the well quality well built the hard and solid got good shine an average person cannot afford that I guess you target for the rich and wealthy but anyway they look nice
B&W forever. Fabioo '961 04/05/2021 h. 01,41
Do you know the difference between the 802 D2 and the 802 D3? 60% increase in the basic price (€14,000 to €22,000 per pair)!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh the very dear "expansive" shareholders!
After 15 years in the primarily high end HT industry, I have to say that B&W hardware is certainly not priced in conjunction with its sound! The SVS gear is 10x better at a 8th of the price!
@@vongdong10 We've done spectrum analysis and the good old ear test on their 803 and 804 D3's vs the new Prime Pinnacle towers, even on the ear test the SVS's come out on top, I believe what you're paying for is the looks and construction, and about 30% or the performance!
@@vongdong10 I believe their driver quality and tech is way in front of B&W and that's the only thing we could come up with after all the tests, both enclosures had almost zero flex at high dB but the SVS coil and motor tech is on another level, I can see the SVS gear getting a price change in their next gen range for sure! Everyone already knows about their subwoofer technology, I think they're taking key notes from that and moving it towards their full range merch...
I know where this argument is at... SVS, an American company; B&W, a British company. As usual: an American claiming that they are the best at something, yet again. I will stick with B&W, you can keep your American rubbish.
These are way out of range for most Americans to buy. I am happy with my Pioneer SX 1250 and my HPM100s from the 70s. I think your speakers need a bigger woofer for bass. They lack bass.
Still have the Classic B&W 801 Matrix Series II, which we’re still hand made in England back when. They’re still going strong and still as amazing as the first day I heard them. Actually prefer them over their new line, which unfortunately a lot of is now made in China land!!👎🏻
@MAD GRUMPYMAN calm down lol b & w lack soul and realism for sure I've hear lots of hifi over the years and KEF reference beats them hands down everytime and easily
@MAD GRUMPYMAN KEF speakers have the best balance of u listen carefully! Yes need correct amplification! But when you do every show every demonstration I've ever heard the KEF stuff always has the best sounding stuff
@MAD GRUMPYMAN also KEF have been making the finest speakers since 1961 and are the first company to even measure there speakers with a computer and even now they are so closely matched go and visit the place which they do and see the high end stuff all hand made just like an Aston Martin
These are very nice speakers but I think that there could be some resonance problems with these design shown as the guy said that design is very hard to keep resonance free
As a car detailing enthousiast i can tell you that is not how you polish paint, way too fast movements and you should always keep the pad flat. It sure will have holograms in the paint but you won't see that indoor and the owner will probably put swirl marks on it anyway
Either way they sound pretty damn good, I got the chance to listen to these speakers & the music that was played sounded like the band was right in front of me. The B&W speakers that are made in China that you can buy in a BestBuy store for example are still nice as well, very clean/crystal clear sound.
At no moment you see them using the bathroom, eating, or sleeping. It means they are all unethically treated slaves, or robots. ----------------------------------------------OR------------------------------------------------------- could it be this 4 min vid didnt reveal the entire facility????!! It didnt show them building 700 series either, does that mean B&W buys THEM from someone else too??? Dont be an idiot. YT has much dum dum already.
They are not overpriced for what you get. There are much more expensive speakers out there. But of course some of the price goes into the finish and furniture of it. Nobody forces anyone to buy them. They have the 700 and 600 series for people who don't want to spend so much but still get some of the same sound signature. I find the tweeter a bit hard for my liking, but in general they sound fenomenally.
@@oysteinsoreide4323 there's a way of changing the Tweeter output (attenuation) with out changing the speaker. I did it in my Focal’s. Shoulder pads.✔️
Drivers built in China that why they don’t show how the drivers are made..I know because I saw one being repaired while getting the crossover replaced..MADE IN CHiNA CRAP
@@thedelightfullytacky Some items are overpriced... as there are always idiots in this world, who don't know any better and are quite willing to throw their money away on a brand rather than quality.
