Gene Simmons is so deserving of every penny he has. Between him and Paul Stanley their contribution to rock and roll is immeasurable. They are not arrogant they are humble and grateful. What can be a better combination of those qualities. Thank you for all the years of great music and shows that are unequalled in spectacle.
The Ego thing was crafted by Bill Aucoin, because he said he sounded like a business man. In the early days, Bill wouldn't let him do interviews because it didn't match his Demon persona.
He is such a great guy. Met him several times and have never had a bad experience. He’s so funny and such a family man. His family is so sweet and down to earth too 💕
My Mom used to tell me about the band's antics and all that....so I came to this with fresh eyes(no judgement) and decided to do my own thing of watching their Biography of Kiss and I find it no surprise that Gene is a Genius with finances and liking the business end of things. He knows what he is talking about. Very down to earth, despite his past persona. Have listened to their music and havent listened to the videos. THink that my favourite song is Rock and Roll will never die. Long live Gene, Paul and KISS. Love the house, wow, he has some very good taste.
Gene has two personas: His camera/on stage persona which is basically this...the humor, joke cracking, funny guy that fans and most people expect with a hint of humorous ego added in. Then he has his personal "serious" side that I saw in an interview he did about growing up, his life, his mother and how she was able exit the former Nazi Germany and come to America, his late father whom Gene said left them when he was very young and that trauma is part of why he never married Shannon for 20+ years bc he didn't want to be just like his dad and walk away from a marriage he had. And the fact that his father leaving him and his mother was a catalyst for his using his fortune and celebrity to help children all over the world. He loves children and seeing him play with the kids during video clips of that interview warmed my heart. Gene may come off as a pompous jerk to most, but everyone has different sides to their personalities, as do I. I may not believe in everything he believes in and I know for a fact we have different beliefs. However, different beliefs doesn't mean you treat anyone different. We are all.part of the human race and it's whatever propels our hearts to love and show compassion through what you believe that makes us all as one. For myself, it's my faith in Jesus Christ. And it's different for everyone. But for someone like Gene, yes he is very blessed and even though he has a cockiness due to being blessed, he does use his blessing and fortune to help others and be a good steward of what he's been blessed with.
Gene created a character, an ego, but it's clear that it was always about "protecting" the band (not the members, the band and off course the money).... He was important for music and I aprecciate it, in this video he seems more relaxed and real, maybe because he feels "safe" in his own house. Gene is a genuine funny guy and must be a good dad and husband, u know, out of these cold character that stills throwing Ace and Peter under the bus!

Back in the year 1983 (no internet) after Kiss had put their makeup off, there was a telephone number one could dial published in a magazine to hear why they had done so. Being a big fan then I dialed. I heard Gene´s registered voice for the first time speaking normally and he simply ignored the question and told his probably mostly young listeners to be confident in themselves. ("Hi, this is Gene Simmons of Kiss. ... Whatever you do. believe in yourself first as no one else will do...."). I still think that was great. Even though this was in Germany he spoke English (Gene professes to be able to speak German). -- Besides I liked his acting (Lance, Spiders of Death Ragman) and read one book with fun (no, he doesn´t rant in them about other people). His two solo albums are not good (sorry). The first one is more interesting.--- I lost on Kiss when they went retro and remasked.
Ohh Gene...I was hoping to see a more rock mansion, with guitars and golden discs on the walls, black leather furnitures, etc. You were the executive producer of "My dad the rockstar" cartoon, so I was hoping to see a mansion like that in this video.

I get the impression that at one point Gene said to the cameraman “Don’t go in the room!” Because he didn’t want people to see that he has a compulsive hoarding problem and was designating that room for clutter.

I think Gene, at home, with family and friends, is really a nice guy. A lot of things have been said and written about how money-hungry he is, but i always think: why would you not make a lot of money if you are in a position to do so? There really is nothing wrong with it. If you can make 1000 bucks, i think nobody is going to reject that. It's all jealousy if you ask me. Enough is enough? Why? If he likes to make more money than he already has...let him! I have no problem with that.That being said, i can't stand how rockstars always have to wear sunglasses. It's so stupid looking when you are inside your house. Everywhere else, sure, you have to maintain your act, your image, but at home? That's silly.
