What’s cool is Paul’s stripped down, just him playing his guitar part that he plays in the band - gives you insight into his influences which are the reasons we all started playing. All the best to you and your family Paul. Stay safe!!

Paul is underrated as a guitar player in a similar way that McCartneys bass can be overlooked. Stanley’s chord inversions and right hand groove are unparalleled. Not to mention HE WROTE AND SANG THE BEST KISS SONGS by miles. Total respect for this guy.
People throw around the word underrated too much. What makes Paul Stanley underrated exactly? He's a good guitar player who plays well. What's there to underrate? He does what he should and he can play guitar.
@@holdingtonfarley4444 he's maybe not really underrated. But most people said Paul suck at guitar and he don't deserve a title "guitar legend. " and yeah..he actually guitar legend.
@@holdingtonfarley4444 Because people typically are in awe of the lead guitarist more so than the rhythm. Most guitarists look up more to Ace Frehley than Paul Stanley, and despite what the 70s KISS purists might say, guitarists Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John, and Bruce Kulick were honestly even better than Ace ever was. But I’ve always had great respect for Gene and Paul as songwriters. Even if they’re not the most technical virtuosic musicians, they’ve consistently made amazing music over what, half a century now. Never met a KISS album I didn’t like.
The great thing about this video is the way he manages to connect to us... I can feel myself sitting there in his home studio, after having dinner with him and his friends/family, having a cup of coffee or tea and listening to him playing riffs on his Gibson Les Paul and telling me stories about this or that... And I'm sure many of us feel the same way... The ability to connect to people on a personal level even though it's through a video like this one is a real talent...
Mr. Stanley, I just finished working a 64hour shift at a group home. I needed this. It sounded perfect to me. Thank you for these videos, your message, and being part of the soundtrack to my life since 1977 when I discovered KISS in the fifth grade.
They are lip syncing on the last tour, did you know that. They probably arent even really playing their instruments anymore either, it's all digital , in other words click tracking, that truly sucks you know
Thank you Paul. I am a 54 year old guitar player. You guys got me started all those years ago. Your words and better, your reason for doing this shows love and class. Big voice, and equally big heart. Thanks for doing your thing for all of these years. Still going strong, even though these hard times. Be safe and stay strong.
I ran across Paul and Gene in the Cleveland airport when the Rock and Roll Museum was being developed. Paul smiled and shook my hand like he was a fan of mine, not vice versa! Genuinely friendly guy!

If you told me, as a kid in the 70’s, that Paul Stanley would be playing guitar, on my phone that shows video? First I would have called you crazy than I would have thought it was alien.
Same! In the 4th grade, I remember thinking it would be cool to have a tv watch. (would've been a tiny screen tho) Now, 44 years later, I've got something even better and Paul Stanley is STILL rocking!
JaySchraubMusic fully agree! Would love to have Paul sit on a chair and tell us stories about the songs, tours, instruments, etc. and play is some material. Great idea!!!
I can't begin to tell everyone how awesome it is that Paul shares his time like this. The guy is a true Artist and just a genuinely great guy. Would LOVE to have beer with this guy! Thank you Paul ! Rockguitardad13
This is actually perfect! Great songs, that mean the world to us fans, played with love by Paul. I could listen to the story behind every song and never get tired. Keep it up Paul. For every complaint you hear, there are thousands of us listening with a smile on our faces.
@PaulStanley-dg7hk I have been to several of your shows and I can say that I was blown away every time! What a show! Nobody puts on a concert like you do...worth every penny and the long drive to get there! I hope that you continue to rock the house for as long as you desire. Your vocals are the best in the world and your guitar playing is outstanding and creative! I am wheelchair bound as I have stage 4 cancer. I try to play my Stratocaster when I am able but not much any more, I still do try though. This video was a bright spot in my day and I thank you for that. Do you have any advice for someone like me? I try to keep my chin up but it’s really hard, do you have any advice for me? Is there an email for you? It would be really great to chat. I know you’re super busy but I’m hoping...thanks Paul!
Thanks for these videos Paul! They are really a treat in the face of all that is happening rite now. You are a Rockstar on every level of humanity. Have a awesome day. Thanks again man, you totally rock!
He's mostly Riff based, while Ace does both Riff and solos, so they both play the Riff at the same time. Then Ace does the solo. But Paul Stanley is Amazing as a guitarist and so is his riffs, and let's not forget he's also thee Lead Singer of KISS.
Thank you Mr. Paul "The Starchild" Stanley as well as the other members of Kiss (both past and present) for giving us great musical memories to last us lifetime! Extra special thanks to you Paul for playing "Hotter Than Hell" in most of its entirety. Been trying to figure out that song for a good minute! That album of the same name was my first introduction to KISS as a kid in 1st Grade circa 1976. Hope you had a Merry Christmas 🎅🤶🎄, Happy Hanukkah🕎 and hope you & family have a blessed & happy New Year 2024! ROCK ON! Enjoy your time off in retirement. Give those Avatars some attitude too! Hope to hear your Soul Station stuff too!
@@garcemac I don't think so, but Paul is a huge Soul fan , what with his solo tour singing soul classics, I'm sure Paul and Daryl could play a classic.
I absolutely love what you are doing Paul you are truly an amazing songwriter and person. I have been a fan of Kiss since I was ten years old. God bless you Paul😎
when I was like 12 years old...My Brother....me...and a couple of our friends...all about the same age...made cardboard guitars, drums and amps...did up the make up....put dads awesome stereo down in the carport of the apts. we lived in...set up some desk lamps as spot lights...and did the Kiss Alive album for all the little kids in the apartment complex....and yes....I was Paul Stanley lol I think my dad still has it on 8mm film....I'm 56 now....and remember it like it was yesterday.....Thanks for giving me one of the best memories of my life!!! You are the real deal Paul...Class for days man.... God bless
This what it must be like to just sit and chill with the Starchild. Could you Imagine being there in that room riffing and brainstorming for songs to put on an album? Damn This is awesome.
He could use a little makeup!! Thank you Paul!! We need to keep having fun while this beast is trying to put us down!! Will always love you, and the boys!!!
g m what a stupid assed comment. I’m sure he has lip synced before if he was sick or had lost his voice after performing every night for six months but this guy can outperform ANY rock band lead singer that’s been playing a long as he has.

53 here and right behind you. all there classic songs and we all know which are the classics still make the hair in the back of my neck stand up and makes we wanna pick up my guitar every time still.
My sister is 10, she has cerebral palsy and barely talks however whenever she hears kiss, or sees Paul she screams 😍she absolutely loves kiss she hums and Blubbers all of kisses songs and always wants us to put on kiss for her !🥺🤍 she absolutely loves you and Was excited to see this video.
Vanessa Carrillo wouldn’t it be great if you could write Paul Stanley a letter and he could come see your sister! That would be great! Come on, do it Vanessa!
I’m speechless. Incredible that he made time to hang out with us. He is not just a musician whose music I enjoy, but a human being I want to learn from. I’m really proud of being KISS fan.
I started listening to Kiss in 1975 at the age of 5. Been my favorite band since then and even now at the age of 50. Thank you Paul for all the music you have created over the years. I still listen to Kiss music every couple of days. Love cutting the lawn and listening to my Kiss music.
I can still remember the 1st time I saw the album cover for ALIVE. I hadn't heard of the band, all the radio would play in those days was the pop music. Once I heard the opening riff of Deuce, I've been an addict ever since! Paul & Ace inspired me to pick up the guitar. I would lock myself in my room & play for hours. Trying to learn every song note for note (and remember the tuning). I caught all kinds of SH*T from parents who just didn't get it & peers who couldn't admit KISS could actually play. Those very same people, went to see KISS with me in my hometown of Manassas, Va. in Bristow! I've never been shy or denied! KISS has always gotten me through it!
I love seeing legendary musicians play not in a performance setting cuz it reminds us all of ourselves practicing playing our instruments on our own time and reminds us that we’re all similar
Cool to hear Paul play his parts by himself and see the interesting ways he fingers the chords. I remember watching this video during quarantine. It was cool to see him doing what he could to reach out to his fans and give us something to enjoy.
Paul, I'm in my early 50s and listening to you play growing up is the main reason I chose rhythm guitar as a young teen. I didn't want to give up playing the riff because a solo got in the way. Also, back then you said "the music always comes first" and I have never forgotten that, even passed it on to my children.
paul stanley é foda, gosto muito da voz dele. pra mim é a melhor banda de rock de todos os tempos. nunca mais vai existir outra banda igual o kiss, eles marcaram epoca,
thanks paul for growing old a better and more respectable and lovable man. God bless you man.. you are part of my childhood and nobody can take it away from me :) although I am not that old at the age of 41. keep rocking man. respect from the Philippines.
Cool ...can't wait till this new premier to come out thanks star child your awesome 👍 thanks for taking time to entertain us very much appreciated sending 🙏 blessing to you and all our kiss 🤟 fans from El Paso TEXAS....
Bless you Paul, just revisiting these post covid was so long ago, bravo buddy, I live in Liverpool UK and was at your gig at Deeside Icerink, the ice melted, one hell of a gig , keep rockin now and again ......
Thats cool, Play Mr Speed on the next video, always thought that was a very cool underrated riff, one of my favorite deeper cuts.. just being able to see what your hands are doing helps me to learn how to play it. Great tune

Paul, my first KISS album was Rock n Roll Over, and the moment I heard Makin Love's opening riff, I was a KISS fan for life. At that moment, like most fans, I chose you as my favorite KISS character. I loved rhythm guitar. And the fact that you made it look and sound so awesome was just icing on the cake.Paul, you changed my life. I was no longer that kid that everybody ignored. You and KISS understood what I wanted from a band. I wore my KISS T-shirts with pride. I wore the grooves down in that album, and my mother hated it. Which made it so much better. :D. When I heard Destroyer and Love Gun it solidified why I loved your band so much. KISS brought me out of the darkest times in my life. When I served in the Army in Germany in the late 80's, Crazy Nights and Asylum were always playing. Shining their light into that darkness. Thank you for all the amazing music.
Hey Paul great video thanks for spending some “ quiet time” with your fans. Enjoy the insight into those classics. Huge fan ! you are my chidhood!! Love ya, keep rockin!! 🤘🏼

@@paulstanley8138 you have given me joy and entertainment so many took my nephew to Oakland Arena show years ago YOU played do you love me and also black diamond I went nuts as a middle-aged man
I hope, somehow you see our comments Paul. I just read your book. The last 3 chapters made me literally cry. First, because you finally figured out how to be happy with yourself and others, but to honestly understand that your fans are special, and that they, we, humble you is something I really didn't know about you. I knew you were kind man, I can see that all over your face, but to know you "get" each fan, each night, is having an experience, THEIR INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE, and they weren't there last night and won't be there tomorrow night, is something I didn't expect to hear. I'd like to thank you for being so candid, and so open about your life and your personal struggles, and how you now are so grateful, and blessed. It makes me like you even more!! When I was young, in '78, you were my "first" sexy man I ever noticed. Now, I feel like I've grown with you as I read on, and I'm happy that you're happy, and I know you're happy that KISS makes me happy!! Major full circle right??!!! 🖤🤘
Many thanks Paul...as a lifelong KISS ARMY member way back from 1976 I thank you for making my childhood and life better. I picked up and learned guitar because of KISS. Destroyer was the first album I ever listened to track by track. Rock and Roll over was the first album I ever bought with my own money. Great times and albums. Keep rocking Paul!
Legend has it that he makes a mean scramble eggs and cheese for breakfast. 😎🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.Stay safe every one, we're in this together. Much love from Jacksonville Fla.
Read his most recent book. Face the Music. He goes over how he sought out and received mental health counseling. Great for him to share that part of his life and let people know it is ok to ask for help.
Thank you Paul! You are such a kind man! I appreciate you taking time to play your fans some great music! We appreciate it so much! KISS will always be the Best Rock Band Ever!!! May God bless you and your family!

Won't have enough Time and that's what i didn't have to say Thank you , We were lucky enough to take in your show in San Antonio Texas 2019 along with that i wanted to say this . THANK YOU STAR CHILD . YOU and Gene have been a positive influence in my life . Your countless interviews filled with life lessons and awesome Loves of people that make a true inspiration in your life . Celebrating Life with music and hearing or reading of those experiences i for one picked up on that , again thank you, looking at everything in my life i thank God the creator for influential people like yourself and Gene . Keep Rocking and Rollin hope to catch another show some day soon but stay safe and Godspeed . Again THANK YOU .. 🕊
I am very glad to see and hear you and just hang out. I can only imagine how hard it is for someone who entertains for a living to be stuck at home. I'm a housewife so I'm almost always home anyway. For me this kinda makes up a bit for not being able to see KISS when you all came through Springfield, MO in February. I always check Twitter to see what Gene's up to as well. I have loved the band since I was 5 years old. I was thinking also that this at home time may help you all to think about the future after the End of the World Tour is over. I hope you continue to do videos off and on after the chaos is over. I know I'll be checking to see if you do.
Melissa S. Morris I was at the Springfield show and it was my first, and probably only, Kiss concert! They put on a great show and everything was perfect except it wasn't loud enough. Kinda brought the crowd down a bit. Other than that, it was a great night and I am sorry you missed it

I could hear those stories for ever, for them is just life, for us is like your heroes together in the same place, must be so great to be your own fan (be proud of yourself) .
A lot of those early KISS songs were based in classic song writing principles. Interesting riffs with chords, counter melodies, interesting vocal lines going on top of the cool arrangements... Got To Choose is in my favorite 2 or 3 KISS songs ever!
So true Mark. These are actually really great music lessons. Songwriting, great rhythm playing/feel and attitude. It's not as easy as he makes it look but it's all right there.
Never understood why a band like AC/DC gets so much praise while Kiss gets shit on by so many for being too musically simplistic. I wpuld put the first three Kiss records up against anything in DC's catalog.
@@termsofusepolice AC/DC has some killer moments, (some filler too!). I'm Aussie I have to say that! Biggest band this country's produced.. I like them a lot; I'm a fan - but I'm a bigger KISS fan.. KISS' music was to me - more interesting and varied. More steeped in Beatles style songwriting.. especially the first 3 KISS records which are my favourites too!
Paul stanley what a guy. A proper example to any aspiring young artists. Really genuine thoughtful and down to earth considering his mega wealth ( all well earned btw). So nice to see him giving back to the people in this way at this uncertain time. Hope he continues these vids as im sure they cheer up everyone who watches. Respect!!
When he was playing “makin love” there’s a little piece where it wanted to sound like “panama” from Van Halen .... it’s all good love these videos, I hope there’s more to come ..🤟🏼
Team Elite Diamonds a tiny bit , you got to listen real close , I’m not downing the video or paul Stanley , i don’t play guitar so it’s hard to describe...
I'm not even a big KISS fan (not an un-fan by any means either) yet this video is a classic example of the time-sucking / addicting qualities of RU-vid. This was fun to watch, Paul......Thanks !
Paul, you’ve always been and always will be THE MAN. What a great way to spend a few minutes during the unfortunate pandemic. Well done.... and thanks! I need that!
Back in the 80's you played in Jacksonville florida on new years eve do you remember? You guys played from 7:30 til after midnight to celabrate the new year with us with the giant bottles of champagne probably the only group of people in KISSTORY to get a over 4 hour concert. I still have the ticket that was torn on the perforated line so it's in one piece and in mint condition.
They played the standard Lick it Up tour set ca 100 minutes. www.setlist.fm/setlist/kiss/1983/jacksonville-memorial-coliseum-jacksonville-fl-3dbb947.html
Great that he riffed on 'Got to choose' and elaborated on its origins. I always thought it was one of their finest songs and definitely preferred it to their more over the top tracks...
Hotter than hell is my all time favorite song ever by anyone. Love the lyrics the story Paul is the best ever. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Sorry I’m 4 years but better late than never. God bless you Paul.
It is great to hear from Paul Stanley. The sound of his voice sounds like it is coming from inside your head. It is not reverb, maybe it is stereo micing with great equipment.
