“Addiction is giving up everything for one thing, Recovery is giving up one thing for everything.” A strong quote that people should think about more. 💙
@gatzke7955
I’m a 17 year old kid who’s never been addicted to drugs, but my mother and father have. My father gave up a nasty drug addiction that was super self destructive before I was born. But my mom is still in that horrible life, and she’s hurt and burned so many people who love her. It hurts and I’m praying she finds the strength to get better, but I’m losing hope. Omaha is my home but it’s so stricken with this disease. My dad is now 21 years sober, and counting. Stay strong guys
@juicer759
I would love to see alcohol being included in these types of videos, I think it's so normalized you don't even think about the horrors of alcohol addiction

I started doing drugs 20 years ago as a teenage. Got addicted to cocaine. Spent my whole life fighting cocaine addiction. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

My best friend died 2 years ago yesterday to fentanyl. He was only 19. Thank you for shedding light on this topic.
@stammercane2427
I'm a veteran of the Iraq/Afghanistan wars, who transitioned into being a Fire Medic as a civilian. Ended up injured in a fire which aggravated injuries from war. I was prescribed Oxycodone 30mg. I was hooked within a week. Swallowing turned to snorting, then to shooting eventually doing upwards of 15+ a day on days off, and just enough not to be sick while at work. Eventually it all caught up to me. Spent 3 years in prison and decided to end a 5 year drug battle. 9/12/12 is my sober date. Anything is possible if you really want it. Now married, a home owner, and a beautiful child. Please get help if you're suffering!
@Hushed_puppies
Is no one going to talk about the guy who said he was a psychologist but was actually a patient?! 😳
@mauraduffy7094
When the fake psychologist looked at the filmmakers and said "....and it could HAPPEN TO YOU TWO GUYS TOO" a chill went down my spine. Yeeeeeah, something wasn't right.
@dougey3192
Former hardcore fentanyl user here. Have been clean now for 13 months. It is the most powerful addictive substance I have ever used. I remember when it was my best friend. And I remember overdosing twice. And it's funny because I survived my time in the military and overseas and yet almost kill myself chasing that high here safe in the states. I'm so thankful and grateful to be alive. I lost everything and now I have a car my own place... Getting emotional just typing this. I feel for the ones stuck on it but there is hope. God bless
@downsouth00
Anyone who got off the drugs and is now sober fighting the urge. You are a strong mf’er. It is one of the hardest things in the world but if you can do it you’re one of the toughest humans in the world. Keep fighting don’t back down.
@GODofEverythin9_
As a person living in germany, im absolutely shocked about this gigantic crisis. It honestly makes me sick to see how people are just so broken....
@user-el1eu6nj2i
So I'm 17 I've been addicted to meth and fentanyl for 4 years. I've been sober from both for a little over a month and I'm currently still battling with my addiction to marajuana which I've been going through for 7 years. I just want say thank you Tommy G for spreading awareness about drugs
@raheemjerry6893
''they said he was not a psychiatrist on staff, HE was a patient,''😂😂
@IM1EYE
What Jenny had said is literally the reason why I would never even think about abusing pills again. I was addicted to percs for two years spending about 100 a day for them. I never thought that I’d feel any type of normal ever again. The withdrawals were hell. I’ve been officially clean for 3 years going on 4 aside from the occasional times I do when I’m in the hospital because of my lupus flare ups. It feels amazing to be free again. God bless you all 🙏🏼
@tylerx6
I’m 16 I started using weed when I was 14 then it got bad when I started doing pills and eventually got arrested for rampaging on xanax. I been to rehab 3 times already and I’m 51 days sober now off everything and it’s a battle everyday. Thank you tommy for spreading awareness about addiction. When I’m older I wanna help people who were in the same spot as me.
@ediesaffron3593
Thank you for shining a light on this! I relate a lot to the last girl that you interviewed. I had a horrible addiction to opiates, and I thank God that I was given another chance. By the grace of God I’m still here and almost 8 years sober. I definitely agree that addiction stems from unresolved childhood trauma or just trauma in general. It’s essentially an escape from reality but it will ruin your life trust me. Maintaining my addiction turned into a full time job, it was all I ever thought about. Please don’t mess around with this crap, it’s NOT worth it! Don’t be like me and think that you have control and can quit whenever you want, it doesn’t work like that! Addiction doesn’t discriminate, it can happen to anyone, don’t be like me and assume that you’re above it because you’re not! If you’re dealing with trauma please seek help & therapy before it overtakes your life. There’s resources out there you just need to look & please don’t be too proud or too afraid to ask for help ❤
@pinkyy1989
Tommy ran into a real life shutter island situation.. patient acting as the psychologist lol
@johnboy4955
I was with an organization called skate for change and we went skateboarding around downtown Omaha handing out socks and water and food to the homeless. It was a crazy experience and definitely humbled by it. Stay off drugs it’s not worth it I speak from years of living under the cloud that is addiction. Get help it’s never too late
@vauzalt
being able to learn about other states while just sitting at home and watching youtube is the cool part here, great video tommy keep posting !
@Jennifer-bw7ku
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
