The final series of recordings of former President Lyndon Baines Johnson's telephone conversations have been released to the public. CBS News White House correspondent Bill Plante reports.
Of course you can control your party so completely when you have J Edgar Hoover with all his snooping legal files on individuals. as Jack Ruby said there's a new man in office
he was a racist, he rigged countless elections to get into politics, he was power hungry his whole life. I guess he thought he was smarter and better than everyone else and deserved it. It's ironically probably why he died such a miserable and relatively early death, he didn't take care of his health at all.

@★ Froggie Animation ★ he was deeply racist, killed JFK, was invovled with murderers, rigged elections, and was a warmongerer. To see you white liberals defend this man is pathetic
Bwahahahaha! You must be a demonrat democrat! Explain your idiotic comment! Prison reform is controlling his party completely? You want blacks mass incarcerated? You are sick!🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
Many in his own party hate him... Do you get any information outside of watching 5 minutes of nightly msm broadcasts or do any independent research? Doesn't sound like it.
rhuttrho88 what troll? The reason I say that is because most republicans including yourself by your comment are not independent thinkers you believe everything he says.
@@kevina5519 What "what"? I rebutted your statement...not sure what there is to be confused about it. MSM pushes the narrative everybody right of Stalin is in lock-step with Trump which is absurd.
America created the Communist North Vietnam during WWII way before the Democratic South Vietnam was created. One year after the Japanese army attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. US President Franklin D. Roosevelt sent a US mitary personnels to French Indochina. These US military personnels train the first Vietminh how use booby traps, assault rifle, and other military weapon. These Vietminh help save several US pilots, who's plane was shot down by the Japanese army in the Pacific. US President Franklin D. Roosevelt recognize Vietnam Independent from France but did not live to see it. But his Vice President Truman took a different approach and support the French to recolonize Vietnam and rejecting Ho Chi Minh letter of support for Vietnam independent from France. This cause Ho Chi Minh seeking support from the communist Soviet Union. US President Truman sent US military aids to French troops in Vietnam and even sent the first US MAAG to train the French troops in Vietnam guerrilla warfare. These US MAAG also later establish the creation of the Democratic South Vietnamese army. On May 7, 1954 France lost their right to Vietnam and all of Indochina after their major lost at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu. Vietnam emperor Bo Dai Nguyen appointed Ngo Dinh Diem as President of South Vietnam. And North Vietnam became Communist due to Soviet Union and Communist China support against the French. America military MAAG never left Vietnam because the US government make sure they will dictate on Vietnam affair from falling into Communist rule and the fear of dominos effect in Southeast asia.
All except another whinny baby (like hillary) Romney that lost his 2012 election and can't handle reality like the democrats. Voting to hear more baseless lies from more liar witnesses in the impeachment hearing. Get over it folk you lost. Back to the drawing board.
1/2 of the Republicans are Never-Trumpers. Many Republicans don't like an outsider like Trump who isn't a politican jumping into their political arena and busting up their gang.
Funny how people criticize LBJ because he was “racist” and used the N word, but he did more for the blacks than good old JFK did with his suave charisma and beautiful tanned skin. I’m not saying that his actions were always correct or condoning the use of racist language, but he passed both the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965-which cost the Democrats the south-while Kennedy did nothing for the black community in 2 1/2 years of his presidency. So, let’s put things in perspectives. Johnson actually DID something, contrary to most politicians who are wonderful speakers but do nothing.
1) LBJ NEVER WANTED TO SIGN THE BILL 2) it was actually JFK AND Martin Luther kings plans and ideas for the AA community 3) they killed JFK 4) only way the civil rights was passed if LBJ HAD a part and say in everything so he alter what JFK AND MLK ORIGINAL idea 5) signing a bill to make us vote when we had that right back in 1877 during reconstruction era doesn’t mean you done anything for blacks Learn more my guy and understand What came after LBJ SIGNED that paper
@@babyigotchomoney Gee, JFK was killed? Wow, I must have missed during history class... You say LBJ never wanted to sign the bill, yet he hustled his friends in the Senate and the House to get the bill passed and that lost them the South for good. Even if he wanted to sign the bill for political leverage-which I’m sure he did because after all he was a politician-he still did it, even when it cost him politically. JFK would have never had the skill to pass any bills for the black community; he wasn’t a seasoned and experienced politician, like LBJ who had more than 30 years of experience of working in the legislative branch. Blacks were not only being mistreated by society, they were being lynched and hunted down like animals. Both of those pieces of legislation helped the black community, whether people recognize it or not. I’m quite aware of all the riots and problems that happened after, but that still doesn’t mean that that legislation didn’t help the black community.
It didn't cost democrats the south for very long considering those states were back to blue again in 76' 80' and 92'. Plus the states in question didn't have majority republican house of representatives until the 90s. Or governors. Or state legislatures. Or senators. So basically the only lever of political power in the south that shifted republican in the aftermath of the CRA was Electoral Votes, and not even really considering no state has voted the same since 64'. You shouldn't forget George Wallace came in third place in the democrat party primary in 72' and 76'. Also eisenhower won many southern states in the 50s and Hoover had garnered some southern states in 1928. Beyond that LBJs welfare has destroyed the black community, and the white community as well. It turns out that Fatherlessness sky rockets when you offer women money if they have children out of wedlock. LBJ passed a revised version of the same civil rights act that Eisenhower passed in 57' or 59'. LBJ was making political calculations. If Nixon ran against an LBJ with no CRA in 1964, that would have been a very comfortable Nixon victory. Nixon likely gets that nomination without the CRA, because Goldwater would have never been considered as a "liberal republican". It seems everything in LBJs life was calculation for power. He was rude to everyone. He rigged a college club election, he rigged almost every election he every was a candidate in and that has been proven since his death.
People label LBJ a racist but I don't think that's true in his years as president. He was insensitive and not very PC, but he wasn't a racist. He was a political tactician who enacted the Civil Rights Act, and used the language of someone from the south at that time
