Such a NYC mood - she's youtube famous and works for these prestigious publications but even Brooklyn is too expensive for her to have a fancier apartment lol
She's not youtube famous by any stretch (even in the BA "universe" she's not a mainstay) and journalists are notoriously underpaid. Given all that she's seems to be doing well for her self.
Wow. I love that she didn’t make a single attempt to clean out her kitchen or unhoard for the video 😂😂😂That's very rare to find and I admire the honesty. And love she is proud of where her parents are from. Thank you Priya! But pls, Marie kondo your kitchen
It's amusing how Claire in the Covetuer video made confetti cake & had cookies ready for the crew to take home, while Priya made toast, microwaved idli, & showcased her Tupperware collection. My two moods. 😁 Would love to hear about your food memories from Manila, Priya!
Yea... Asian people tend to avoid saying they have a partner until they KNOW for sure they want to marry them... also shacking up with your partner before marriage is a big no, no.
@@bigpopakap I am from an Asian country and my family is not like that. At all. Don't paint us all with broad strokes of the same, one size fits all assumptions.
I loved how she called out some people for thinking they’re above using a microwave. Like damn, sometimes I don’t have the time to heat something up on my stove/oven so imma use my microwave, don’t make me feel bad for it.
Bianca Penuelas she’s the kitchen manager at BA, so I feel like her kitchen would only be chaos if she’s tired of cleaning and organizing after doing it all day, otherwise I feel like her kitchen would actually be really functional.
as a matter of fact Brad had hired Gaby before as "assistant". However, I reckon she is doing somehow a better job than he did. She even introduced composting into the kitchen and that taking into account that they pretty high up in the building and apparently was a bit hard. Nevertheless Brad with is Alive (going places) is just great at what he does
@@benisturning30 yes! Idli, dosa, paniyaram, medhu vada, uttapam, etc are quintessential, delicious and healthy indian breakfasts (not medhu vada tho, as it's fried). These can be made from the same batter mixture of hulled black grams, rice and fenugreek with varying degrees of fermentation for each item.
@@benisturning30 Yes! the batter needs to be fermented at least overnight. The natural yeast in the lentils and rice do the work. That's how they get fluffy
This is the best. Love that this is her REAL kitchen, meaning she legit had a moldy sandwich in there... we know that she didn't stage her kitchen to be "perfect" before filming. The best!
I didn't even finish the video before I ordered her book. Speaking as a mom, I loved this! My 24-year old son just moved into a studio apartment this past week and this really hits home. Thanks!
When you already know every nook and cranny of Priya's kitchen because you follow Seth Bakes obsessively. 😍 also, is it just me or does the camera man look like he could be Seth's brother??
Her organized chaos made me feel pretty much at home with all the tupperware and ziploc bag storage and then I find out she lived in the Philippines for a time and everything just clicked lmao
@@manuelbonet Racism by whom? And towards whom? Your definition of who or what someone is has been defined by how OTHERS treat you. What others decide you are. And you fell for that programming. In which case job well done!
First, I love you Priya. You can never look in my fridge if you believe your fridge was messy. I also did everything like my mom did when I first starting adulting. The moment I realized that I hated cold peanut butter and had an epiphany that I didn't HAVE to keep it in the fridge was freeing. That was the exact moment I knew I was a grown-up. Now I want Idlis! That medicine bottle thing is gold. I will be using THAT for usre.
Honestly I like her more bc she was real about how her fridge was. Everybody has a moldy ham sandwich in the very back that they forget about every now and again ain’t no shame
i wish there was a series that just did kitchen tours of culinary professionals! It always amazes me to see their kitchens are just like ares, sometimes smaller! shes so relatable.
I could totally relate to the organized chaos called the kitchen. Looks like a mess, but it only takes seconds to find the right tool or the right ingredient. Also: the Tupperware culture in the Philippines. My mom hoarded those too, there's always a Tupperware party in the neighborhood, and to date, I still have that huge (when I was a kid, welp, small hands) tumbler with a cariolier to match a lunchbox set from the same line - not as portable as a Coleman water jug, but I thought it was better than sucking the retractable spout. XD
Same! My mom had all the Tupperware stuff but she never used them. Kept all of them in the cabinet. If you looked at our fridge, the "ice-cream" container didn't really have ice-cream (usually marinated chicken) and we stored our water in mandarin orange containers (the ones in syrup)!
I have no idea why this came in my feed... but glad it did!!! You know a person is genuine when they open their kitchen to the world and you instantly relate to the(ir) chaos & clutter. I was grinning all through the video. :-P
Hi, I just wanted to say I bought her cookbook after seeing this. I'm a fan from BA but this specific video motivated me to buy her book. Hopefully someone that's supposed to see this sort of comment sees it. Thank you
Ohh my god I love this PK 😄 I lovve herr. I love how she documents Seth bakes ! Seth is so shy and cute. I love them both soo much 😅 Gosh pk, you're beautiful and funny and cute 😄 Seth too !
Your camera-person needs to clean their lens. There's a dark patch that you can see intermittently on the border between 4/7 if the screen was a keypad. It was present in the Alison Roman tomato poached fish recipe too.... IT'S BEEN DRIVING ME INSANE.
I love Priya. She is truly the definition of relatable. Like her kitchen isn't this crazy perfectly organized thing, like I felt bad about having giant novelty cups, and 6 million sets of measuring cups. Lol love you sm Priya! I also like that this video shows the whole crew. This video felt very real. Good job NYT!
