Good examples here are the French supported coup in Congo-Brazzaville in which Denis Sassou Nguesso overthrew Pascal Lissouba in 1997 ; France, Belgium and the USA initiated and supported Mobutu to overthrow the late Patrice Emery Lumumba in 1965. In 1987, France supported Blaise Compaore to overthrow and assasinate Captain Thomas Sankara. The list is long.
