The Eddie Jones story reminded me of King Hezekiah who brought in King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and showed him the Temple in Jerusalem with all it's gold, silver, and costly stones. Hezekiah was foolish to do this because eventually Babylon attacked Israel and took the plunder.
This is great. Absolutely wonderful show. The hosts are great. Thank you for us fans we been waiting for something so detailed in the history of Chicago outfit.
A series on the Chicago Outfit (starting with the rise of Al Capone through the reigns of Paul Ricca, Tony Accardo, Murray Humphreys, Sam Giancana, and others all the way up until the death of Tony Accardo in 1992) would be really very interesting. So many interesting stories. That would make a great TV series.
I actually detailed the Hitmobile in 1974, Chuckie Nicoletti paid me $200. to wash, wax and vacuum it! I remember him telling me NOT to touch the glove compartment or the trunk, LOL. They killed him in 1977 2 blocks from my house, the last funeral me and my family attended before I joined the Air Force.
@@PaulWhitcombehey Paul! What happened to the outfit: organized crime in Chicago channel? And tell Touhy to stop using A.I. and narrate himself. He's hilarious!
Very interesting documentary. I love hearing some of our cities history, as seen through the eyes of these guys. Growing up in the Portage Park neighborhood in the 70s myself, some of these stories are things I remember my grandfather talking about.
I've been searching for video (or just audio) of Giancana speaking. I'm an amateur historian and have researched the outfit a lot. But I can't find any such footage except for extremely brief snippets (a) in the courthouse lobby in Chicago (he says, "Why? I don't know.") and (b) the giggling episode from the RFK's rackets committee. [also posted this on your two other Giancana videos]
No way was Giancana a puppet. He did have to go to ricca and jb for big outfit investments but In no way was he a puppet. We are talking about a guy that kidnapped Jake Guzik and not a hair on his head was touched. There is a lot of misinformation. Accardo was basically a council for ricca and Mooney. You also need to understand that Mooney ran Chicago most of the time he was in Mexico. All you have to do is look at how Dick Cain was given a gift of gambling territory in Chicago in the early 70s to see that Sam still had the power
I grew up in that neighborhood. Sam Giancanas restaurant was called the Armory lounge. It still stands today and is a restaurant different name though. Across the street from it was a Naval Armament facility where they made torpedoes during WWII. Thats where the name Armory came from. The base is now a mall. Was the lottery really an evil activity for the Mob? The reason I ask this is because our governments both state and federal run their own lotteries today. I suppose the fact they didn't pay taxes would be a difference.
I’d be curious to know if you know much about the English brothers? They come from the Patch too and we’re a part of the 42 Gang. Chuckie was there the night Sam was murdered.
The day before he was to go before the Church Committee being murdered is a coincidence I just can’t ignore. The CIA were the only ones with the power to override his payoffs to Mexico and have him deported. They wanted him dead. He simply knew too much.
