i like it when you show all your folded hands, because it's real, but it also gives you a moment to just chat, sometimes about poker, sometimes about life, which is good for a quick refresher.
this is my favorite poker vlog, you show the ups and downs and dont eliminate any hands - excellent for entertainment and instruction. Appreciate all the work you do to make it happen.
Keep doing these. This is more real for those of us that play. The Instagram is edited down. This is what people should really see. It’s a grind. Keep it up!
I think you should add a "Villian of the Session" Highlight One player you have pots against, highlight the bad preflop play like you did with the guy who had TT. I think giving us a bit of info about the villians would be interesting. But overall I love your Vlogs. seeing every hand is amazing.
That’s definitely a cool idea!! Im thinking of topics to talk about while showing the folding hands. That can definitely be a good topic. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for doing this, PokerBabbo. I was really into Texas Hold em about 15 years ago until they made online poker impossible and my weekly home game collapsed. I've been feeling the urge again, so I started watching some poker videos, and yours is the only I've stuck with and look forward to. You keep it real and I'm learning a lot from your videos. Thank you for all your hard work, and I wish you much success in your ventures.
I love this content and it's why I subscribed. It's helped my game tremendously showing the grind and I always seem to pick up little tips or tricks. One of the biggest changes I've made is to switch tables sooner if I"m not getting cards. It's amazing what this can do for your win-rate.
You seem like a really nice guy, but you really need to up the aggression dramatically....you're way too passive, As others have said here, some ludicrous folds. The AQs particularily egregious. And of course checking the AQ on turn when you made 2 pair. Maybe practice some low stakes online, where you can do a lot more check raising. Good luck
Yeah, way too passive and plays with his hards face up 99% of the time. The whole session he didn't try to run one bluff with multiple chances of have key blockers. I would classify this guy as one of the 80 year old white haired coffee drinkers at my game.
The mindset of running the AQ turned two pair and saying well even if i would have bet on the turn, he probably is calling and still beating me on the river is the wrong mindset. If you run that simulation 100 times and he is calling pocket 10s there, you are printing money everytime. Looking way too close at this one simulation.
one thing that I’d be curious about is how you go about identifying different players as types and then how you use that information. Like if there are specific hands or plays that help you shape a villain’s style. Anyone can just do the math on if something is a gto call or not but if you take notes and use those to exploit, those feel really valuable. Love and appreciate the format as always!
Hey man!! I have a bunch of hours played with this guys so I think I have an idea of their game style making me play tighter and call less/bluff more vs some and play wider and hero call more often vs others. There’s more to it than that but I guess that’s a decent general way of explaining it
I've been playing alot and studying a good bit too. But I still find that my sessions are very up and down from a chip stack perspective. I'm a winning player but I think I have alot of untapped potential. Watching your videos reminds me that I have to be slightly more patient and better at letting down mediocre hands in poor positions.
Hey man! Yeah being strict preflop is so important. It just keeps you out of shitty spots and gives you a big advantage over the other players that play may too many hands
Yeah man, playing your ranges helped me clock a solid win last night. I will say as I was watching the rest of your video, I found that if I were your opponent, I would probably bomb the flop with my entire range in every position. To me that means you may be overfolding postflop. Just a thought from the perspective of what other players at your table may be thinking.
I appreciate that your vlog isn't just a highlight reel of TV hands. Like the whole first half you airballed the flop pretty much everytime with strong playable hands lol. That's too real and actually like watching what decisions players make when they whiff the board. Other poker content creators are like, "and for the 3rd straight hand we flop a set with our pocket kings." Its infuriating watching people make every hand because that's just not reality
Happy to hear you enjoy it!! For sure there is some sessions that you sun run and it can be like that but for the most part it’s a lot of folding. This session was definitely below average tho
Hey brotha, names scott, i am the one keeps trying to buy you drinks haha. Keep up the blogs brotha!!! I enjoy showing the entire footage, cause a lot of people always think its just winning hands
Your play pre-flop is solid. But feel like you're playing too passive/straight forward post flop. Especially when you talk about how tight the players are. No significant bluffs, which you need in order to get the wins you wouldn't normally get. Plus, if you get caught bluffing you're more likely to get paid when you have it.
That being said, I'm no pro, but have been playing/studying/watching for over 20 years. Of all the vloggers I watch (which is alot), you're definitely the most passive. But I'm enjoying videos, and keep them coming!
you need to call more. there's a lot of power in calling the flop to see if your opponent is serious. it makes you look stronger, and you can bluff if you miss. you play so passively. i can't believe you folded QQ with just a K are no draws to a single bet with no players left to act behind you. it's absurd. you also need to call some four-outer flops a tenth of the time. you're losing value and chances to bluff.
KdQd. I think you should have led there. Raise-fold line because you opened UTG having the best aces including ATo. Most of the time, I think they just call with a weaker 2 pair bluff catching the river where you would have jammed or given up. I think your graphic could benefit from stack depth and maybe total buy in if you’re more than 1 bullet in. I also like the junk folding. I know it’s a lot of work, but it also makes it way more real. It would be interesting if you shared your emotional/tilt buildup as the boredom sets in for the tone when you do get involved. That soul add to the real.
Hey man that’s for watching! Honestly I can’t remember the hand on the top of my mind right now. I got that remark about stack depth. Maybe I can find a way to fit that in. I like the idea of sharing how I feel. For the most part I’m pretty used to it but there is times that it gets to me like it did in this session
I like your vlog! Just a little advice for ya: You need to be playing more deeper, atleast buyin for the max of $500. This will allow you to open up your range and be able to maneuver with having a bigger stack, plus it allows you to make the maximum against weaker players at this 1/3 level. Or find a game that plays deeper big blinds. If you’re a winning player then you’ll start making more money by buying in for the max, maximizing your value. Also recommend getting to 2/5 or 5/10 quickly as possible, especially if you want to make a decent living at poker.
I love your every hand format don't quit that. I think if ya gave a taste of the family life so people can get a taste of how poker affects them could be a bonus to your channel. As far as the hands go, maybe do a few study sessions live would also help your channel grow. It's just suggestions I am a fan of what you are doing.....GL unless of course you are in a hand with me
Hey man!! Thanks for the ideas. I like the idea of showing how it is playing poker while having a family. Maybe I’ll get my wife on the next month recap 😂
The check on the turn on the AQ hand is horrendous. You raised the pot preflop and made 2 pair you need to get value out of your hand. Yeah they will have you beat sometimes but that is why it is gambling. You will have the best hand more often than not and you can't give free cards.
When people make remarks talking about hands like “horrendous” usually are players that aren’t very experienced and think there’s only one way of playing a hand.
He's right in this hand... You seemed to be looking for more reasons to fold than to be aggressive... After all this you talk yourself into a call on the river... The street that is the most important in poker and also the most miss played IMHO is the turn... When you get to the turn that's where the real action starts.. You find out if someone has been slow playing a monster like a set flopped top pair top kicker that they are trying to trap you with.. Bottom line there are so many reasons to bet the turn vs check especially if you have a good hand already or a great draw.. The 3 most important are for information, for value and to charge draws and even pairs to see the river and set up a river jam if you already have the nuts..
Yeah, I agree... Big implied odds. I would never have folded KQs on the button to a moderate 3bet either. "Don't want to call a 3-bet"... Why not? Unless the CO is one of those 'only ever 3-bets with AA or KK' types, or maybe if the initial raiser is a maniac who's counting his stack for a jam.
How do u not bet that turn two pair when checked to u! U gotta bet there an see where u are, cuz they would have checked to u on river again no matter what comes there
You're not considering future implied odds when laying these hands down. For example, with the AJss hand, you have a backdoor nut flush draw, one over, and a straight draw to the nuts as well, you absolutely have to call this bet, because there is a flush draw on the board too it makes it even more profitable to call as V could easily have diamonds which you are ahead of anyway! Youre just getting run over in this session and folding so much equity. You also made a call with J8 to the bad end of a straight too for a similar size that you folded a nut draw to earlier. It doesn't make sense. You are scared of monsters under the bed for sure. In the AQss hand, all you are talking about is what hands you lose to, you let them get there free of charge then paid them off.
Pokerdad! Ugh talk about a grind - up down - rinse repeat. I was getting fatigued just watching that session. Get back on your hungry horse and ride over those guys, lol!
Honestly I would love to sit at the table with you! It's my dream and goal to be a professional poker player I just don't have nowhere near professional poker player money or even vlogger money for that matter so basically what I'm trying to say is I believe I'm a better player than you and I would love to sit down at the table with you just to see if I'd be able to make it in the vlogging world to start off there is so many hands that I seen you fold that you should have called with then again you're the pro I'm just someone trying to get there
Maybe be more aware of where you are at in your poker journey. Poker is profitable because most players that are losing think they are better than they really are. I have plenty to learn but the fact that it seems like you have very little experience and think you’re better than me that I play on a daily basis for over 2 years says a lot. Humble yourself and get to work. As well there’s way more to making a living playing poker than preflop charts
firs vid i watched, great vid. love seeing beginners get into the game. also love that we now have an "on the spectrum" vlogger!! love seeing different people all represented!!! #supportautism
14:42 you're looking too much for a straight and ignoring other possibilities. $40 bet is inducing folds usually a flush draw and you have a backdoor flush draw and ace, as well as Queen outs. I also put the other guy on a King before seeing what he had. I would call one more and fold if you miss the flush draw, straight, or ace. Granted you lose some outs with diamonds.. I still think you fold a lot on flop bets. I get it doesnt hit often but youre getting a good price for $40 to win $140. also when/if it does hit players with a hand are more willing to pay you off or not believe.
I don't think you played the AQ hand that badly. I'm shocked he had a ten there. It makes no sense, and for that bet size I have to see it. Problem is we don't beat a lot of the hands he's either value betting too thinly or turning into a bluff when the four-liner comes. It's just one of those sick spots.
Yeah it was just such a stupid price and I didn’t think there was a chance that he was betting for value with worse since I’ve seen him do it before. Hard to find bluffs in this spot when he 3bets preflop
You paid big money for a poker camp. Utilize that knowledge. It's tough to pull the trigger when running bad. But necessary. Getting caught with a bluff actually a good thing occasionally when in a game with players you see frequently. This is more passive play than you've shown on the past vlogs. Like you said. Not in Love with your play style this day.
Your tablemates' faces appear on occasion in these vlogs. Do you get written permission from them? Seems problematic if not. I wouldn't want my face showing up on the other side of your camera.
They allow filming at the casino. I try to not put peoples face on it too much. If someone tells me that they don’t want to be on it I’ll make sure they’re face isn’t on
@@Pokerbabbo Poker is rough and at least you show the real of it. When making a decision, you will either look like a genius or a jerk - nothing in between! I like to throw in some tries on total garbage hands if I can limp in. If you hit...no one sees it coming. It might get expensive but its like any other form of gambling. When it hits, it pays you back the investment and dividends. And you look like a genius!
