Lex commentary is because he can see the cards lol. He obviously isnt thinking some of this while hes playing or he wouldnt have played the way he plays.
It baffles me when a player raises on the river with a straight, or flush, with the board paired, then loses to an all-in reraised and claims he’s running bad.
Yeah, the moment he re-raised I would have insta folded. You’re not beating them if you don’t have tens full. Such an overplay of your hand. He was licking his chops when you raised his $3k bet. He was just trying to get a call or knew you may have had a straight and made a blocker bet to induce you to raise. It worked.
@@nutterbutters2232Did he used to bluff this much at the lower stakes? Feels like his bluff attempts have ramped up during the higher stakes and is contributing a lot to his losing sessions.
Lex O: He could have Ace-King, Ace-Queen, Ace-Jack or Ace-10. He could also have suited connectors like King-Queen, King-Jack or King-10 suited. He also could have a flush, 2 pair, 1 pair or Ace high. He could also have King high, Jack high, 10 high or 9 high. Now that I think about it, he could also have some pocket pairs like pocket 9s, pocket 8s, pocket 7s or 6s. Looking back at the preflop action he could also have .............................
I don't normally comment on hands but.... WHAT THE FUCK was that raise, then call with the KQ???? OMG... If you're going to raise, raise to 8k then fold if re-raised. But what do I know... You're the pro, not me.
Lexo is pretty bad lol. What are you calling with in the end. if he had just a 9 or straight his only real play is to call. Theres no bluffs with the stacks left lol
Following you for the past 3 years. Cant see you losing and get bullied at these high stakes. Please dont play if you are not comfortable here. We are with you ❤
I think I like a big bet on the turn with 2nd pair and nut flush draw against Taras. You are probably ahead with the best draw against this particular player.
"I sat with the best poker vlogger in the world, and I won." The Session: Mariano - UP $41K Lex O - DOWN $51K LOL Hell, he even beat you in getting the vlog out by 8 days.
Ok Lex, its time we had a heart to heart talk. I'm trying really hard not to be negative. I played poker full time like you for 2 years and decided to go back to work. It was the best decision I could have made. I asked myself, how much longer can I go on making a slight profit. I was profitable. After you calculate the wins, the profit is very little. Not a good life ahead as far as what I expect of myself. I study poker every day using GTO programs, videos, groups, ect. I have to say you have a game that needs a lot of work. You make a number of mistakes that a studied player would not. I really don't understand how you can not correct your basic leaks and thought process before playing these super high levels. When you're in a hole, you should stop digging. You owe it to your dogs to live a happy life and you're not doing that now. How much longer are you going to put yourself thru this torture and cutting your life short? I enjoy watching your videos not because I am looking for strategy and game improvement but because I learn from you what not to do and how not to play the game. This isn't a knock on you, its just the skill level you're at. I think you're a fine $2/5 player so why not stick with that?
I enjoyed his 2/5 sessions much more. This is just like me playing when I’m on tilt lol. But I berate myself for such plays. Lex is like “I’m running so bad”. Underestimating players like Taras.
82os play was boss af! nice one lex! For KQos im torn between going for value vs just calling to a river bet if i make a straight on a paired board. I like that you went for value there tbh.
Yeah you're playing with a hand tied behind your back without it. Not to mention that a lot of people on these streams, just have trust funds and family money. Losing $100k doesn't mean much.
Honestly you’re doing great. Don’t stop fighting. Keep going. You’re becoming a really good thinking player. Very much so enjoy watching your journey. Keep it up, King!
Lex, I have no idea how much you make from your YT - channel but I have a feeling you are playing games that are waaay above your bankroll. You bought in for 20k right? That means that your bankroll should be at least, at least, 20x that amount. (Some say the magic number is 50x) So if your bankroll is 500k+, go ahead, try your luck with the big boys. If it's not 500k, maybe you should stick to the stakes you're used to. Yeah, I know, you always say that you are competitive and wanna play against the best. Always push yourself. Bla bla. Dude, that's the gambling devil speaking. You have a good thing going at the Hard rock. You are crushing. Don't fu*k that up becuz you wanna "prove yourself". In a year or two, when you have worked on your game and have a solid bankroll you can go try your luck again. Until then, don't rock the boat. From Sweden with love
Just keep in mind, and in the spirit of the theme of this video re: bluffing vs Mariano with 82 , Mike (in Rounders) ended up going to Vegas because of his belief in himself. It's that same belief that compels Lex to test himself in bigger games. Mariano had that path, and the same for Brad Owen. Why not our boy Lex?
Lexo… you are not as good as you think you are. You need a coach or something different. Your high stakes play sucks man, you keep playing like you currently are
Lex, I appreciate your honesty & sharing your journey to high stakes. Not an easy thing to put yourself out there like you are. You have it in you. Fook the Haters. Chase your goals as you always have! Good luck my man.
To quote the same movie you did in your vlog, "If you can't spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker." 🤣 Was a good bluff on Mariano, at least you have juevos to sit down at the table.
Lex your a great player. Keep the Faith. You'll be back. It was a pleasure meeting you Tuesday and getting a pic. Mohgan poker players Love You in Connecticut
Such a bad call with the straight vs full house. You were never ahead at any point in that hand. You only had a bluff catcher with that straight. Your poker instincts are not where they need to be.
Playing 2 times with "The Big Boys" costed you around or over $ 100K. I would look at that that as a big warningsign. It takes a f long time to grind those 2 sessions back on 2/5 and 5/10. And this is only because you wanted 'to prove' that you are capable to play with "The Big Boys", so it is only driven by EGO. There is nothing wrong with playing smaller games like 2/5 and 5/10 where you have somewhat of an edge and the pressure to deal with when you run bad is much easier to deal with. Make smart decisions. 👍👍👍👍
I like Lex a lot. He's capable of playing there. The poker in these games is actually garbage. It's just a huge disadvantage having the money matter to you when it doesn't to other people. He's better off stabbing at big dollar tournaments. Elon could play the WSOP, but once you're out, you're out. Elon plays in these streams and it's not very hard to bluff a stack or call the same with next to nothing.
@@internetposta7389 If you don't have the right bankroll for these stakes to play comfortably, then don't play there at all. If the money means too much to you then it puts a lot of pressure on you, pressure that your opponents will put on you because they 'sense' that the money means too much to you.
@@internetposta7389 Only play these games if you have the right bankroll for them to do so. His opponents can easily 'sense' that the money means too much to Lex in these games and then those players will put you to the test and bring you in uncomfortable spots. If Lex would have lost 5K in his normal 5-10 game he would have laughed if off and moved on in a heartbeat. Now the loss is 10 times as much and then it hurts. Lex is a 5-10 / 10-20 player not a 50-100/200 player. Plain simple.
this dude reads the comments and thinks all these people saying he sucks are just haters. bro if you were actually good you wouldnt get those comments fool
The most shocking thing about this video is that people with this kind of money eat at Jersey Mike's! In all seriousness though, great video Lex. Sorry it didn't go your way, but you had some great plays and it'll turn around.
KQ spot is very interesting. Maybe just 3b or fold pre? I also like a c/r on turn and then bet fold river? Is he bluffing and/or value betting a worse hand 25% of the time? Probably not.... His small bet on river does invite a raise.... weird spot. Great vlog like always, Lex. You're one of the most, if not the most, consistent and entertaining vloggers out there! 🔥
I think that straight versus full house could have easily been avoided. Yes the villain is capable of bluffing but it’s very rare for that player to bluff shove their whole stack on the river. Rampage would be the exception but aside from him that doesn’t happen often. Just my 2 cents.
I’m a big fan and like your vlogs. I’ve watched all of them. I met and played with you one time when I visited Florida. It’s cool to see you push yourself out of your comfort zone. Don’t try to hang with the “cool guys” and be cool and do stupid things. I think in these games these bug sharks have your situation sized up. They know you’re playing disproportionate to your bankroll. They know you’re afraid to lose your 30k buy in and they’re not. That puts you at a big disadvantage. Stick to the basics 5/10. Just my advice as a friend.
LexO!!!! There is a common theme… and I wanna help you see it. There have been multiple times on stream that you’ve been caught bluff catching with weaker hands or 4th-8th nuts on super dynamic boards. What I’m saying is - players in these games have caught on and started betting huge for value into you. because you are talking yourself into calls. These river bets are 90% for value against you. I think in your next big game- recognize the sequence of Value vs bluffing. I hope you start getting on the right side of these.
What made this for me was the great moving music when you had the 82 hand... now that music made me well up. You got balls with 82 Lex, well played. But Lex you got to learn to fold especially when your gut is telling you that you are losing, like against that AQ. FOLD MORE!
did not see the result of the KQ hand so far but man... you say you dont give him J9 from utg so you can discount that, but in same second you say you are beatibg Q9 so that would speak for a call 😅
Overall Lex you did well. Im glad you are trying to challenge yourself to play bigger games. also, the way you explained it and cover their cards makes your vlog interesting I follow you every single time not on HCL and lodge but also best bet, champions etc. Ive learned from you and cant wait to see your book. I moved now to Philippines if you want to visit here in the future let me know I will be your host.
Only two hands were bad plays IMO. The bet/call you made with a straight on a paired board and not folding 9/8 clubs to a three bet preflop out of position. Just my opinion.
The last hand I put Taras exactly on AQ, but to be fair I watch him on the live streams a lot. He's definitely capable of bluffing but that should've been a fold once he bet that big on the river. Regardless though I love your vlogs Rex. Better luck next time.
Think the 8c9c is a fold vs a cold 4 bc of how it interacts with the Broadway hands. Probably worse at 300 bigs. Think the lower connectors are continues.
That KQ was an over play imo. That 3k is either a straight call or a min raise. 13k was too much imo. If you min raise with 6k you can fold river to a jam.
Hi Lex, great vlog, thank you! I enjoyed it I'm sure way more than you. I was glad to hear you had investors. I was wondering, is there more or less pressure when playing with other people's money? Thanks again man! Pura Vida from Costa Rica!
i really like watching your vlogs, because its entertaining ❤ but man its not youre runnig that bad, youre making calls you shouldnt, and wenn you river fullhouse with QQ the guys fold top pair A against you.. maybe its tougher than you think 🤷🏻♂️ but probably i am a mean keyboard warrior 🙈
Great post..!! I missed the stream, but 8h and 4k viewers...Congrats to the Lodge and the line up...Lossing on stream and your take away from it and turning it to a positive out look. Very encouraging, but Mikey Ds not so much...Peace and Good Luck forward...!!
Lex is the "pro" that regs want in their game lol. In enough time where the variance washes he will lose in these games. He's such a narcissist though and will continue to bleed.
Yea he’s pretty awful some of his decisions. My blind g ma can see he was beat on the 8,9 hand and the k, q hand. Even the dude with 3,s called cause he knew he’s scared money. Raise big there he would have won .3,500 ain’t shit
Lex 0: He could have Ace-King, Ace-Queen, Ace-Jack or Ace-10. He could also have suited connectors like King-Queen, King-Jack or King-10 suited. He also could have a flush, 2 pair, 1 pair or Ace high. He could also have King high, Jack high, 10 high or 9 high. Now that I think about it, he could also have some pocket pairs like pocket 9s, pocket 8s, pocket 7s or 6s
If you're putting $100,000 at risk in any session, you should have at least 20x in cash on hand JUST FOR POKER. You should have $2,000,000 in your poker bankroll. That's the tried and true rule and there IS NO WAY around it. I don't think you have anything close to that. Maybe $350,000 to $500,000. Disclaimer: this is an objective, logic-based piece of advice and not a hating on you type of comment. I wish the best for every poker player in their endeavors through well-managed bankrolls, especially playing solely as their income source.
There a bunch of intangibles in play when you are blogging as your side hustle to playing in these streamed games, among them all the cross-promotion. That aside, shot taking isn't a huge risk of ruin if you can and will move down when you hit your loss limit. And, as they used to say: he's a professional, don't try this at home.
The way you are talking at the end of the video…. Man you are going to lose your whole bankroll sooner rather than later. Your ego is way to big to play in these games and it’s just going to take over. I hope you have someone in your life that can bring you back down to earth before you hit rock bottom.
That bluff with 82 was masterful. Leaving yourself less then a min click behind makes it look that much stronger and as if you were potentially gonna check raise the turn. I can understand why mariano landed on fold.
Yeah the KQ was too thin he called a raise from the SB, heavily weighted twords AX, he called on the flop 3 way, what’s he have? Flush draw/AX, def should of pot controlled turn and get to show down
