I am three years younger than Taylor Swift, and I am just... So put off by the immaturity, and by the victimhood narrative. She writes songs about all of her exes, makes it REALLY clear who she's writing about to anyone paying attention- and then she whines when people make fun of her for it. And I still have not forgotten 'The Man', where Miss Billionaire Superstar had the nerve to complain about how much easier her life would be if she was a man, when she is literally living a better life than 98% of MOST people on this planet, men and women. Hear hear! I'm the same age as Taylor Swift. I had been exposed to her music since I was a teenager. I enjoy many of her songs and is still impressed by the outlier albums of Folkore and Evermore. However, the rest of her songs is a never-ending catalogue of "poor me"/"woe is me"/"I'm such a badass queen despite this" songs. Seeing the world through her lens is honestly so emotionally exhausting. All of my friends have mostly figured themselves out by now, regardless if they are coupled or single. Yet I'm not sure where Taylor Swift's growth is headed from here - I can't see an end to her teenagehood.

For 15 years now (she's in her mid-THIRTIES, FFS) she's been repeating this shtick: 1. date famous guy 2. make sure everyone's watching - be super public with him, write about him, turn their relationship into a core part of her marketing 3. break up with him 4. whine about him, make loads of money off it 5. get backlash about still playing the victim after 10397586649054 times of trashing exes to make money 6. write more songs whining about the backlash Like...GIRL. Give it a rest. You're not in middle school anymore - there's no reason an adult in their mid-thirties (or even mid-twenties, probably) should have this much drama in their life. It's all self-inflicted. It's really hard to feel sympathetic for someone who stubbornly keeps sticking a wrench into her own bicycle and then blaming 'society' or some man or other for being flung over the steering wheel.

she isn't upset people criticize her for writing songs about her exes she makes a criticism that initially it comes from a misogynistic angle. She makes a point that male artists write songs about their exes even going as far as expressing DV and in some cases no one really calls it out more. It can feel as though people use that criticism to diminish her storytelling and narrative devices in the songs just to reduce her songs to it being about an ex. Which is incredibly degrading to someone who is talented at what they do and this criticism has basically been disproved, as she dropped two albums not about anyone in real life all exploring different themes and emphasizing her storytelling ability and these two are critically acclaimed, so it's not a fan base bloated one as many would say for lover or rep. I enjoy this album and honestly this album being more laid-back and just writing because its cathartic and she's loving her pen and sound just shows that she doesn't need to prove herself anymore because she is a great musician and songwriter. Also someone can be successful at what they do and have struggles they are valid to express those she's not complaining about fame she's literally showing us through her storytelling that fame is toxic and can be intoxicating. To me when she expresses in her songs her relationship with fame it literally sounds like a nightmare and she's not the only celebrity that has expressed how traumatic and toxic the culture is, she's also human.

We should be careful not to go too far in the other direction either. Joe is still a man, human and he had his flaws. He could get very blue for days and get closed off to the point of hardheadedness if you are not used to that. There are other things, i won't say here because I don't want people to misinterpret stuff (no not cheating before someone mentions that canard again). But Joe wants to get on with his life and should be allowed too

Every break up has two parties and almost always both parties play a role in the break up. But none of it is a free pass for cyber bullying him, or harassing him or trolling him. It's such a cultish mentality. And taylor has done nothing to stop it, infact her and Jack Antonoff stir the pot even more. It's always one thing or the other, he just wants to be left alone and they can't even do that. Taylor needs to learn how to be alone in solitude. Any person who is constantly in relationships like her have issues deep down that they're hiding behind in romantic love. She's not gonna have successful relationships moving this fast, I dont care how famous they are you're not gonna find quality people when you move fast with the first person that flirts. At first it was "she's young leave her alone", she's still young but it's just plain concerning now. I'm not gonna comment on her music bc I think its obvious she's a great songwriter/story teller. If you've been in like 20 relationships and none of them work out then it's hard to believe they are all mostly the problem. Does anyone else feel like Joe must have been "the empath" in the relationship? It really looks like he did nothing wrong, and it would have been nice of her to spare one of her men ... for once, just to show class, show grace. Whether he truly is these things or not, he's the one she wanted, he's the one she was in love with, he's the one she wanted to be with! I don't blame her for being mad. I think the fans did ruin it. It's her life, the fans can be upset all they want, it is not our business, PERIOD. She could run right back in his arms and they could date again, and you know what? People would still buy her albums. When she was dating him last year, I was seeing fans commenting that they were done with her and so on. There's a good chance that she did lose fans over it, but it really didn't do a dent because look at how this album is breaking records, lyrically and sonically I can't say that I think it's particularly a good album. I think it's her weakest. But it doesn't matter, she still is breaking her own records as well as everybody else's with this album. Yes when she was with him it damaged her reputation, yes I agree about if she can hang out with him then what does it mean what she's really like as a person? I agree with all of that. I'm not even saying that the fans should shut up or that they are going to. I think she needed to just ignore it and let it go. If this is the man her heart desired, this is who she should truly be with. Who are we to say? It's not our business.

I’ve been a swiftie since 2006. This album is my least favorite album she created. It’s the biggest regression. I thought folkmore was incredible and such a change in her. Fans may have had a "right" - to call her out for dating him since he is problematic and what has come up about him. At the end of the day, if she wanted to be with him, she should have been able to. It isn't our business. If we wouldn't date him, if we think he's a loser, that's fine if we think that. But it doesn't make it a fact. Listening to this album it is very clear that she really had feelings for him and feels the fans ruined it. In that sense I feel bad. They’ve been in each other’s atmospheres for quite sometime, battling the public’s perception of them and the emotional conflict that the nature of their careers puts them through internally forever. They are kindred in their love of philosophy, poetry, being emo/ ‘victim hood’ (hate the term victimhood but if I’m gonna be sincere, they are victims of how they are perceived via their brand images their lifestyles and how they are perceived by people who don’t have any real emotional investment in them at all ), and their overall temperaments are very much mirrors of one another. It's interesting to compare Reputation with TTPD. Back then, she was so in love with Joe it was mostly all she could sing about. All the other exes (Harris, Hiddleston) faded into nothing. Now she drops 2 albums mostly bashing a short-lived relationship whilst adding 1 or 2 lukewarm songs about Travis. They might have a good telationship, but imo she's not THAT into him. When I heard this album being released, I was like "okay, cool". I was not overly hyped about it. Especially because she announced it at the Grammy's, and I thought it was an inappropriate time due to it making the night about her and her new album. I thought about the album, but in passing. Then, my grandpa had passed away unexpected, and the album literally came out well the 2am version did. I remember listening to a couple of songs to drown out my sadness. Believe it or not, I am a Swiftie. Not the kind that can never see the faults that she has, because I for sure do see those faults. I make mistakes too. Because we are all humans just like Taylor is human, shocking I know. I thought that Joe Alwyn was a great guy (although I didn't know who he was). Especially now, I think he is one of the best exes. He has kept quiet, and truly wants his privacy. Just because you are in a public relationship, does NOT mean you need to share every second of your lives together. Making this album essentially with Matty Healy in mind really shocked me. I don't know who it is, but I know him from his situationship with Taylor for the last decade as well as the horrible raciest. BUT it makes sense considering that they got linked up at 2014. knowing THAT fact broke my heart for Joe; because while she is with him for six years, she is pining after another man. Maybe just maybe Joe did not want to get married to Taylor; because he knew of her unrequired love for Matty. To think, the whole time that others as well as myself thought this album was going to be about Joe and their downfall of their relationship as well as the aesthetics being that of Joe's. IE: the typewriter more specifically. and maybe a couple of songs of both Matty as well as Travis THEN come to find out, a good majority of the album was about Matty Healy (gross). I hope that Joe can heal through this, and we as Swifties not tear him down but lift him up. all and all. the album is good, but it is not the TOP album of her's. (in my mind). ❤

About Joe. I'm not surprised that she didn't made the album all about him. Don't forget that at least her 3 précédents albums are all about Joe. (lovers, folklore, Reputation, Midnight...) TTPD is about the end with Joe. BUT the few about him are the most heartbreaking. The fact that it is mainly about Matty makes sense because the story with him was longer than what we saw. In all honesty, I like how absurd the album is. It feels like we are reading a raw transcript from her diaries over the years, with all the good and bad, the cringe and the profound thoughts, that's why I like it. It inspires me to write stories as well. I always learn the references while watching your videos and the ones from a swiftie that I like, to get more context, so the first time I listen to the songs I enjoy them for what they are. It's a fun and interesting experience to discover more and more about her character with each album release. And, although I liked this new album (the anthology version), I still believe Folklore and Evermore are her top-tier, best creations and I don't think she will surpass them, at least not so soon. Midnights has also grown on me over time. I would love a video on the psychology of Taylor! Please. I admire her as an artist and businesswoman, but I do think she lives craving life to create art, instead of actually living and creating art (not sure if that made sense?). That could partially explain her questionable choices and behaviours. I love your videos so much. Lots of love from Chile!

There's a time lag between an experience, writing a song, scheduling musicians, recording an album, and releasing it. Ever read your own diary from a year before? Cringe. She's been working flat out since before she hit puberty, only dates famous guys, and she's a gazillionaire with an army of people to fulfill every wish. You expect mature emotions? Hey! Sorry I’m late. I’m so glad to see you made a new video! Please post more long-form content! 😭😭 I love when you dive deep into the topic and give your own take on them! Taylor is definitely VERYY scared to not be #1 anymore. I mean…that’s what she wanted and she got it…at a cost. No one told her she had to release music non-stop. That’s just all on her bc she always wants to be at the top looking down on other people. What a shame. I used to fan her during her earlier years of fame. But after her 3rd album, I stopped listening to her bc I got bored of her music. But I stopped being a fan of hers when she let her rabid fans threaten and bully Scooter, his clients, and anyone close to him. You know what Taylor did about it? Nothing. Exactly. Because she knew her fans were gonna go crazy once she gave them the green light. She’s not an innocent victim. She stepped over a lot of people to get where she was.

Yall like ttpd i am a huge fan of taylors music to a point i can even recite song title but i didnt get to more than 6 songs in this album this was def not worth the wait i was super excited but i wasnt good at all all the songs where repetitive there was barely any music with the same chords in almost all songs wayyy too many metaphors and easter eggs to much breakup content and just plain boring cuz 2 min into the album i was like red? There was nothing new or fun new swifties might love it but as a swiftie since 2006 it terrible at best it sounds so overused and super taylor and also it feels like she's balantly copying lana del rey it feels like she found chat gpt and told it to write her lyrics in lana del rey style the songwriting is also no that good but every one calls it her best album yet it already has a billion streams and broke so many records and took all 14 top places in Billboard just cuz shes taylor i feel like people love this album soo much not cuz its a good album but cuz taylor made it

Finally the video I've been waiting for for 2 years. I had said about a year ago that Taylor Swift was starting to lose it, and I couldn't wait for the expose on her life falling apart. She's a narcissist she's greedy and I can't wait for the rest of the world to start seeing it👏 As for the joe and taylor relationship, im still convinced it was a fictionalized made up contracted relationship so taylor could get her reputation turned around for mass dating. The lyric about “no real defining clues” in Thank You Aimee makes me wonder if the song is only superficially about Kim and is actually about someone else as well. Because yeah… saying “only us two (will know it’s about you)” is pointless if it’s entirely about Kim, because that part is obvious.

Ive been a fan of hers forever however i dont believe in stanning ppl, ive just always appreciated her lyricism but over time i kinda knew she was a narcissistic terror , and how she was DYING TO TELL US while staying relevant and non-canceled. Great video. Thank you for breaking down some of the songs. TTPD was an okay album (I actually really liked the second half of the manuscript album better with my favorite song being Peter). It wasn’t my favorite album of hers but it wasn’t my least favorite either. A psychology on Taylor Swift video would be interesting!

I am not a “Swiftie” but I usually love her music. Sadly there are like 3 songs that I actually like(Fortnight, Down Bad and especially Clara Bow). I don’t care who inspired her but most of those songs sound almost the same. TTPD is in bottom 3 of her albums. Can’t wait for Reputation TV though🤷🏻‍♀️ I expected more… but she’s really talented song writter. But this sound doesn’t do much for me. I am not saying that it’s a bad album, just not my cup of tea And yes please, psychology of TS video would be amazing!

Taylor chased Matty down because apparently in 2014 they had a “will they won’t they” sort of fling that ended up unresolved. They had a situation where the IDEA of each other being together as a couple, their “what if…” past was better left unanswered.
