Thank you for this video I’m soon getting gastric sleeve or gastric bypass surgery which ever my dr decides which is better for me I did my research about the gastric bypass and gastric sleeve surgery and wls for many years now 😊
Hi Jay, the sleeve gastrectomy requires general anesthesia which by default will require intubation. However most surgeons will not place a Foley catheter (urine catheter)
All bariatric procedures are performed laparoscopically (meaning they create 6 small incisions in the abdomen). So the scaring and healing process is not bad at all!
@@charlesaidoo7679 Hi Charles, if you live in Georgia, you can fill out a form on our website. www.livehealthymd.com/appointment/ Otherwise we recommend searching Google for a board-certified bariatric surgeon near you.
There will be some pain but most patients describe it as being uncomfortable more so than painful. During the surgery, you will be under anesthesia so you will not feel pain.
