Love this tour! The floating shelves are cool! Great advice about doing this for yourself. I need that reminder every now and then. Great tour and wishing you all the best my friend!
Wow. Killer studio. Phoenix into inserts into Lynx. Love the vibe, especially the white console desk. The lighting & artwork with your super tight top notch gear setup all just says, legit. Congrats on a great a great room and an excellent informative video tour.
Such a dope set up and creative space..as someone who watches and really values your input on studio gear (probably more than anyone I know) I just know I can always come to you and you'll point me in the right direction or possibly know someone who can..this was a fun watch to finally see the ins and outs of the studio. And Im sure this was just a fraction lol. I can't thank you enough for the SSL Fusion suggestion..I use that on everything. As someone with a small desk setup compared to yours..I really feel like that is a great solid starter piece that can affect eq, space, width, etc all in one. Yeah man there's a lot I can say...videos like this is needed. I definitely want to see videos on your Lynx? I think is what it was called and more of why you went with that over Big 6. I think it would be cool to do a short video..maybe 5-10 mins and already have a drum track loaded and just do a A/B comparison between different hardware so we can hear whats happening...also perhaps do the same for melodies..doesn't have to be a full song..I kinda prefer a more simple sound that way you can really hear whats happening. Also what was the little mic you held the whole time? Big fan of gear that's not expensive or complex yet gets the job done!
Heck, yes man I can do all of that. I always appreciate your input and anything I can do to help. I’ll do it. There’s like four or five videos in there. I can definitely start with some comparisons and I think that’s a great idea to keep it simple so you can hear more, and that was the DJI Mic 2 it’s so dope the way it hooks up to your camera and sinks everything with great quality
I really enjoyed this tour. I’m very interested in the API preamps. Do you run synths directly into them or do you use something like a Jensen DI box to change the impedance?
What a Killer studio my man!! You have put a lot of thought and effort into creating such a fantastic space for creating hits!! You have Top Notch gear and I must say the ceiling is the coolest thing I have ever seen!! I need that in my studio!!! Thanks for the TOUR!!
I am trying to get my head around how so much gear is being routed through the Flock Patch. For fun I started planning out a setup with an SSL XL-Desk and some outboard gear and very quickly used up the patch points. I would love to see an updated video on how you are using the Flock.
This was such a great tour! Btw your video awhile back had me pull the trigger on the same desk so thank you for that! Still waiting for it to arrive so that’s the hard part! 😂
Hey man, I appreciate you tapping in brother that was the hardest part about that desk was just the weight but it’s most definitely worth it. Congratulations.
@TouchTone DSG Man glad to see you back, it’s been a minute since I saw a new video. I also noticed the transformation of your studio with the new pieces of gear. Thanks for sharing your journey. You asked for ideas / requests so here are mine. 1. Hot take / thoughts on Neve (MBP since you had one). 2. A / B sounds examples of Phoenix Audio N90 (Boom Bap examples). 3. A / B sounds examples of Wave Distribution UBK Fatso(Boom Bap examples) Much Respect 🫡
Man first of all I appreciate you fam. Secondly I can most definitely do those videos they are great ideas. Phoenix audio coming up asap. Always a pleasure fam 💯
Thats cool setup. Makes me feel Like Im in Tokyo or some where like that all the bright colors and you have some great gear. Gives me ideas to update my setup.
@@TouchToneDSG no I really do need them kool lights to do dope lighting and that voice cam and deal is certainly next level. I may have to invest in that type of system. It’s time my space obeys my commands lol
I have the neve 500 series eq’s and just got the neve 5057 summing mixer yesterday, installed the summing mixer in my desk yesterday and messed around with it all day, I actually love it and the eq’s.. the red & blue silk (at least on that unit) is subtle..the blue does add a like punch in a good way though. I tried the heritage tubessor for two days and sent it back.. it was cool but it was a little too aggressive for my taste lol. Great video bro, keep grinding fam. 💪🏾💪🏾💯
Great video, thank you. Question, I just got the SPL Vitalizer mk3, it is a fantastic hardware to have, it does have a buzzing sound. I was wondering if you have the same issue.
Yo warm audio’s gonna come after you bro - too many shots! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I see why you let the Neve go though! If you’re after a vintage colour especially for boom bap and the sort it’d feel like it’s not there lol! Different story when you’re after transparency and your target is more so mastering I suppose. I know I’m never letting mine go 🫣Funny how we all steer towards different pieces with our goals! Lot of friends all go through the same ringer. It’s interesting, love the video bro! Shoutout to the lovely lady behind the camera! 🙏
@@wavescentralstudios heck yeah man that’s exactly why I made this video. We all have different taste and I think that’s why there’s all different manufacturers as well. I’m waiting on your studio tour. Warm Audio probably is going to come after me though. 🤣🤣🤣
@@TouchToneDSG Deffo bro! That tour is definitely coming 🙏 Still got a few things to put together. Like I said the last 100 years 🤣🤣🤣 oh my! It’ll come eventually I suppose🙏😅
The ambiance is cool, but I would recommend increasing the lighting on the gear review presentation. Also I need to see some Dragon Ball Z 🤣. Dope video.
I appreciate that input. It actually came out much lighter than when I uploaded it to RU-vid. It came out a little darker. I think the compression did something to it.
Thanks for that video. Truly inspiring. Funny thing: I had the same trilogy as you before I had to move: the Aurora (n), the Phoenix 8 In DI's, and the Flock Patch. Nowadays, I don't miss the Flock Patch honestly since I shrunk down my hardware count, but I do miss the Aurora. I replace the Phoenix with 2 x Shelfords. Man, if you love the Phoenix... try the Shelford... ;-)
@@TouchToneDSG An other question: Do you mix in Ableton? I think I woukld like to see or have your opinion on your workflow, starting with the composition up to the final mix. Here, in my studio, I was doing Ableton for comp, then Cubase for mixing... but after a while, I hated exporting everything. So I finally ditched Cubase. But... Ableton... man... it s*cks for mix purposes. I am trying the best I can with my Push 3... but I think the problem is exactly this: Ableton + Push 3 = problems for mixing. What about you?
At the moment I am using Focal Twins ST6 which are all analog. I have never used speakers with DSP, so I was curious if there was any latency. Evidently, you don’t have any issues. 👍
I am highly aware of that. I used a new editing software, and my picture profile was changed over and it came out darker than what I edited it. It was much lighter before I rendered it and then I figured out only after it was uploaded to RU-vid what happened so I just have to live with the results but going forward. I definitely know if you look back at my past I have no problem with quality or lighting, thanks for the response
