They should've added one huge detail to universe mode each year. I think that's the biggest issue. Yes, this is a yearly release, so it could be difficult to add to the mode. But all they had to do was add at least 1 or 2 significant changes each year. So that at least by now, the mode could be fully fleshed out.
I recently hopped back into almost every ps2 and ps3 era games. Sad to say the majority of them aged worse than I'd like to admit. One of the biggest problems that continues to the present day games, is that after like a week of playing, I learn the reverse times for almost all animations and then the AI simply can't beat me, and the only time I can have some epic, finisher trading matches, is if I don't reverse moves on purpose.
Even without messing with Sliders, the AI in WWE 2K19 has 10 times more IQ than that in WWE 2K22 to 2K24. In 2K19 when the AI does not win by pin fall, they'll target when your stamina is low to try a submission... especially Kurt Angle.
It’s as good as it can be, until they let go of that last gen. I’m hearing everywhere that this is the last game for last GEN so hopefully the next game should be much better.
This is a good game, but it has issues. It's like they want you to play Myrise 4 times. I mean you play the man's myrise twice and play the woman's myrise twice if you want ot unlock the arenas in myrise.
2K are just lazy when it comes to showcase it shouldn’t be that hard to make a 40 years do wrestlemania. drop the stupid slingshot technology it’s annoying and it’s break immersion. give me simple objectives I shouldn’t doubt the more tedious tasks it’s annoying and god awful.
Ummm can they remove this ticket system how ridiculous is this idea so u want people to spend real money on cards and pack opening yet u can’t play the game cause u don’t have a ticket just total madness. Whoever came up with this tickets system needs to be fired.
Why even have brock playable in showcase mode but can't use him anywhere else in the game let alone the final match in showcase... quit deleting wrestlers 2k
This is 2k we are talking about...do you really think them making games for the current console gen is really going to change anything? Especially when the games still aren't up to par with ones from decades ago in terms of depth and quality. These games literally just provide good graphics and a decent gameplay/wrestling experience. But they're still always released incomplete filled with filler, ideas, bugs and half assery. They still can't get modes they've had in the game since the beginning of time nailed right and people are saying this game is sooo good.
I agree with you on the Accelerator...I wanted to grind thru the Showcase, but the Accelerator is good for unlocking everything for Community Creations purposes. But until my favorite Creators stop dropping their Amazing Caws, MyGM is always my 1st go to....but I am glad that 2K fixed the 1 logo for 4 wrestlers only takes up 1 slot instead 3 more slots.
Us sports fans still got it so much better with yearly releases compared to Madden or NBA which has been on a stagnate decline for years the only Black Sheep of wrestling games is 2K20 and that's really it.

I have a good question. Do rivalries end at PLE's when you play the match. Because my rivalries keep extending, even though i don't choose to extend them. I tried everything.
The roster additions is great and nice to see these current wrestlers and legends add to it. The quality of life improvements are nice. Especially for the tag matches. My Rise again great story thus far for both stories here. The new match types are great. The bad Showcase mode and forty years of Wrestlemania was disappointing. Liked to of seen them do a deep dive to the matches in this iconic PLE is history. While knowing we are going to get this again for the fifty year celebration here too. Drop the sling shot technology here as that is horrible. Go back to the 2K15 showcase with the commentary, the cut scenes and simple three objectives to the match for this mode. Creation suite still stuck with the 1,000 image cap and 100 CAW slots. Either raise the 1,000 image limit. Or fix the image from counting as 6 for some of them. Pin falls the referee regardless of the sliders. Still have the delay in their count starting. Need to fix the rope break detection too. As I've had them not count a fall as saying to close to rope and do move that puts them right in the same spot and they will count. Universe mode again very little support here by them for the third release yet again. Couple of actions added to it for rivalry. But this mode needs a overhaul next year or just scrape it entirely. Expand My GM to take over this role now as it is getting the things we wished universe mode had in it. My Faction nice unlocked some models and items for the rest of the game modes. But this mode still is boring and the card market way to overpriced by 2K on the value of them too. I would recommend consumers to wait until this goes on sale. As the upgrades yes are nice, but it is not worth the $130 for the Wrestlemania edition and this game being held back due to the last generation consoles on what it could and should be. DLC packs are 4 out 5 not sure about the Pat one though. But this is definitely the last one I buy until they go full current gen only and show actual improvements to universe mode or adding those improvements to My GM.
Showcase matches are so long this year. I say they should have learned from AEW Fight Forever's Road to Elite. At least give us the option to freestyle a match and still get the reward for winning. The music and narration from Graves is a bit much as well.

Bro even in free mode you cant use most of the cutscenes (not enough momentum) every year they break it even more, its becoming rather funny than sad now. shame on the universe team. Hats off to all other aspects of the game!
