Aventus came Out in 2010 where you still could use Birchtar in more quantities and Oakmoss wasnt regulated until 2012 and completly banned in the end of 2018! That's why its Not smokey anymore and it lost it's Aftershave Like drydown that i adored!
@10:00 I totally get you! That "Blub Blub Blub" sound perfectly describes the difference between most clones and Aventus, they almost never capture that pick me up effect of the original. From the ones I've tried, Vibrant Leather and Al Haramain L'Aventure came closest but both lacked performance on my skin.
Great video. Glad that you are doing reviews again. You have a presentation style that comes across as very genuine which cannot be said of many other fragrance reviewers. I’ve bought a few fragrances following your recommendations. Not good for my bank balance 🤣
Matt you absolutely nailed it! The main question I always ask when trying any Aventus clone, will it be crisp? Because my first ever impression when trying Aventus for the first time was, ooh boy that’s crisp!
I've ordered a bottle of Insidious. I do own a 2017 batch of Aventus but that's strictly for special occasions. Insidious sounds very much like the Aventus batch I first got my nose on in a 10ml decant. I tried it in my car one warm afternoon, got out locked up caught a slight breeze and Bam! I was mesmerised, an olfactory orgasim.
I brought a 50ml decant in 2017 & have been nursing the b*stard like it’s on life support, not anymore!. If this has been questioned & passed the test, I’m in. Thanks for the steer Matt.
Interesting review, i have the damber wabsolute and think its great. Any experience woth the harajuku plum? I loved plum japonais from TF hopefully they have nailed that one also
I resold my CDN LE because it was too smoky and boom in your face! I got no pineapple at the top. I owned Zara vibrant leather and it was my best thus far but lasted about 4 hrs on skin. Since then, I’ve had a hard time finding the best smoothest clone. A lot of the middle eastern clones turn out to be too synthetic to me. 😢
fucking hell been searching for something like these for the past week. was ready to purchase. They don't fucking ship to italy. Not giving up tho. will find a way have you ever heard about Poseidon's Elixir 11Z mate? great video by the way, I feel your honesty through the screen fella. good fucking job
Good to see you back Matt. 🙌 I've been waiting for a review of this. I have had it on my list for a while but have been holding off. I trust your judgment so will go ahead and purchase. Btw, I'm hoping you also own Plum Harajuku; if so, what's your take?
@QuestioningScents Quick update Matt. I went ahead and ordered both Insidious and Plum Harajuku with my bottles arriving yesterday......and I'm so glad I did. I don't own older batches of Aventus nor have I smelt Plum Japonais so can't make any direct comparisons. I can only judge on the quality of the smell and my verdict is that Insider Parfums have, once again, done an amazing job.
Grabbed a bottle of this after the chat about it on a FB group. Ive tried several inspired and have a 2017 OG and this is definitely up there ..though am not a batch w@@er. The price reflects the quality.
At 310$ AUD BEFORE shipping for 100ml they're taking the piss. Paid 318$ for 100ml of actual Aventus. Maybe if they start doing 100mls at a decent price it'd be worth picking up.
Just ordered it, excited for this one! Insider parfums also says that it contains pink pepper. Is this noticeable? Most of the aventus clones don’t have this note and i think its an important note, like armaf cdnim limited edition has it. I gives this nice sweet smell, i don’t know if its the pinkpepper or blackcurrent. Anyway both are in there :)
Nope. Never been paid a penny for a review either here or on Instagram. I did make it quite clear that the bottle was given to me , but I would have happily bought it , its a cracking perfume.
I wondered this myself but I have to say I agree with these reviews. I've never understood the Aventus hype as I've tried it multiple times and always been underwhelmed, I chose Hacivat as an alternative myself. However, I wasn't into niche fragrances when Aventus came out and have only smelt the new formulations. I tried Absolu Aventus and while it was nice I'd never buy it as I already have Savage Elixir but find it obnoxious on its own. So layering with an Aventus like scent would be perfect. This started getting recommended and I found a sample, wore it once and bought a bottle, I instantly understood why people loved it. I can't compare to the old batches obviously, but it's much better than the new ones IMO. Performs well, has elegance and subtlety, it's great.
