One thing I really appreciate about the way the Royal Ballet does The Nutcracker is that it serves as a proving ground for the younger dancers in the company to step up and get stage time in the principal roles. Leo, Calvin, and Leticia have all demonstrated a hunger and the courage to take on larger roles above their current rank and I firmly believe that their willingness to take chances, increase their exposure, and get noticed will pay off and result in swift promotions. I also find it interesting how, in addition to their balletic excellence, all three embody historically different archetypes / beauty aesthetics: Leo with his slender frame and boy-band-like features, embodies the very modern, Timothée Chalamet-like aesthetic. Calvin is more the chiseled, broad-shouldered, old school leading man, like something from 1940s/50s cinema. Leticia is more medieval; she carries herself like a young queen from the Elizabethan or Renaissance period and has a regally beautiful face that could have come out of paintings from that era.

Wow! What a pleasure to watch this rehearsal. Leticia is a stunning dancer and Calvin is so attentive to her; a wonderful partnership. Isabel is such a supportive teacher and coach. I was so glad to see her giving Calvin direction as well, because a lot of coaches focus much more on the woman. I'm sure these two will go far in their careers. Wish I could be in London to see their performance. Merde!

Calvin just emits the ultimate Prince aura.

I don’t think I’ve seen a more beautiful, elegant, and commanding Sugar Plum and Prince..I focused a lot on Calvin.. that part is soo demanding!.. but they just got better and more beautiful.. thanks to the pianist, and the camera people.. they put me right there!.. a million merdes for this Happy Season!✨🎄🥰🍭

I deeply appreciated the direction and technical insights into mime and the pas de deux (of course, the school presenting the party goers, too). The pas de deux was so beautiful (and exhausting) and I learnt much about the fine tuning of the aesthetic of line, mirroring and linking the end of one position and the lead into the next position.

Both dancers are incredibly talented.. I know their performances will be wonderful. I know how hard it is for them to have to rehearse in front of a live audience after a long day, and I really feel for them! Isabel is such a special person to rehearse them..she is very attentive to every aspect of the performance, and gives excellent corrections, AND is very respectful of the dancers need to get water, etc. I really really enjoyed this. Merde to the dancers on their performances💓💓💓

Can add no more than wonderful. I admire and so appreciate the dedication and commitment that ballet dancers put in to make these amazing productions. Overwhelming.

What a lovely rehearsal performance! They are so polished even in rehearsal that it makes one watching as if it were THE performance! Bravo!

Thank you for the insights. It warms my heart to see that the coaches takes such a good care of the ballet dancers - not to worry too much about the small mistakes, remember to hydrate, and check if they are comfortable. I can tell the dancers enjoy dancing - and that can be thanks to a safe space.

Great to see a new pair for this PDD. They are absolutely positively fabulous. But my favorites for this PDD are Vadim and Nela, still this pair is very close behinde.

The pas de deux one can clearly see is challenging and yet they make it seem so effortless. When the choreographer said that I was thinking exactly the same thing. Absolutely enjoyed watching it, in fact the whole over an hour video. Thank you for bringing these spectacular dances (not just ballet) for anyone interested to see. Clearly you have a huge following from the number of viewers.

In the last run through of the PDD you could see their joy. They may have some details to keep working on, but they both have soul, which can't be taught.

I remember learning the mime when I was about 6 or 7. I’m 70 now. This was wonderful. A trip down memory lane.

Does anyone know if Yuhui Choi is still with the Royal Ballet? I didn't see her in the class or any other parts of World Ballet Day.

I've never actually seen a ballet master whose body and height are nearly identical to the dancer he's coaching. Wow. Tell me u don't see it.

Letícia and Calvin are wonderful dancers and Isabel seems like a very positive coach, but I do miss Christopher Saunders running the sugar plum pas de deux rehearsal. I'm so used to watching his rehearsals every year that I spotted some of things he would normally point out and fine tune to make Leticia and Calvin's wonderful chemistry and performance even crisper.

I miss Marci in the Hans role!

The proble with Gary as a coach is he always talks too much and he ends up taking the centre stage.
