I love the addition of the mix knob. It's being able to choose how much signal you're going to lose so you can always keep a bit of your tone in there while retaining the texture of the tremolo.

I think they R is for rhythmic, not random, but it's a neat gallop.

you know, for all of hard rock/ metal/ heavy stuff you play, it is easy to forget how well you can play clean low gain type stuff as well. Great stuff man.

Good review Rabea! I've got one on the way and I can't wait. I share your view on being more of a 'subtle blend' kinda guy. There seem to be multitudes of tremolo demo videos out there with someone noodling away on a jazzmaster, with tremolo at sea sickness inducing levels - just not my bag.

Actually I don't think there is a single tremolo today based on the Dearmond design, it was a bizarre mechanical beast! The joke was that JHS is absolutely notorious for copying not only classic designs (fair game IMO) but also their competitors (a murky grey area) and DIY pedal legends who put their circuits out there for people to use for free on the condition that they're given credit (absolutely out of order). Most analogue effects are derivative at this point, but its been proven that JHS have lied about the origins of many of their pedals, telling tall tales about research and development, how they reverse-engineered legendary amps that they found in an old barn, when in reality they just nicked their circuits off the internet. Many guitar players shun their products for this reason (how pissed off would you be if someone copied your song and then swore blindly that they wrote it?), some players have never heard about their shady practices, and some players just don't care.

You can chain the Kodiak exp/tap with another pedal like a Panther Cub V2 and sync the tempo - slave one to the other. That's so cool. No M1D1 required. I hate MYDY.

3:10 Any chance you could lock the focus on the main camera next time? All that in-out hunting is pretty disconcerting :P (read: approaching motion-sickness-inducing)

Completely different pedals. The Kodiak is a Tremolo while the Spatial Delivery is an auto wah/auto filter pedal. Depends on what sound you like, but they're far from comparable.

Does the mix not get very wet? It seems like even when you dialed it full up the volume doesn't go down very far in the wave.

Tried this thing and you're correct. Guitar never fully cuts out. Contacted JHS to see if it's how it's supposed to be. Probably will return this.

Tremolo is one of my favorite effects, especially harmonic tremolo, which this is not. It still sounds great for a straight up tremolo pedal, though. Does the pedal have a video out (hah ha!)? Your camera's autofocus was working overtime.

Ok why does a pedal that already has tap tempo need an input for a tap tempo controller? The same thing is on my arp 87 and it really confuses me.

Expression pedal allows you to do tempo sweeps, which you cant do with tap temp.
