sounds like the OCD, the Psychosis, and Major Depression weren't the only illnesses he unfortunately developed. It looks like he also had PTSD from the abuse he and his family withstood from the sh.thead father.

I think the guy should have just quit the Army. Even if he has to take a Dishonorable Discharge. If it wasn't helping his mental health, it's not worth it. And I'm sure a lot of guys with a normal childhood wouldn't mind taking his place.

He was already very mentally I’ll and shouldn’t have even been allowed into the army. Total failure of every system. You have a kid who’s born mentally off, put through extreme violence to the point he’s homicidal and insane and trying to shoot himself.. and we allow him to be discharged from a mental ward and sent back off to the military?

​​@@__Theta__ Some of them don't even get a happy ending when they grow-up either. They have to deal with the same stressors as the rest of us. With no breaks. No readjusting to society, etc. And in societies that are extremely individualistic, they're expected to carry all of the burden themselves. Sometimes, they don't even get basic necessities. Fall into poverty. And become overshadowed by more outgoing, smooth-talking people. And nobody believes us. Because we're somehow "addicts" and "criminals" like the other poor people. Even when a person leaves a bad family. Another bully in society will just take their place. And we're just supposed to deal with this on our own.

Not always but it definitely doesn't help the matter. You got others like Dahmer who had a pretty good childhood actually, a normal one even. His parents fought with each other allegedly and eventually split, but they never expressly humiliated him from what I understand. Richard Ramirez on the other hand is one that in spite of how evil his actions are, if you look into his past it's pretty hard to imagine a future where he wouldn't at least be somewhat messed up. I think the truth is sometimes it comes out of nowhere. Sometimes it's just in their nature. Sometimes it's something they pick up from the environment around them.

No excuse. A lot of people justify why people do horrible things. Stop it just stop it

@@eksbocks9438 Usually anyway it does seem to work that way but then again some people are born to do evil at the same time. I mean it's literally impossible to say, you'd have to log every single person's entire catalog of every single interaction they've ever had to know for sure but I also tend to believe some people are just born with a brain that enjoys inflicting pain on other people, regardless of their upbringing, their surroundings, their interactions, or otherwise. It's one of those things that is basically impossible to study though and even harder to prove one way or the other though.

I’m around his age and no, during that time we were NOT raised to be subservient. A lot of us had parents like this.

When someone from my generations says something like "If I had done that, my parents would've knocked me through a wall", they're only slightly exaggerating. That was the boomer logic; just beat your kids. Don't act rationally or try to talk to your children, just start wailing away on them. My father was no exception. His solution to misbehavior, no matter how minuscule or innocuous, was to either threaten physical harm, or just grab you and start the process. My mother, while not physically abusive, had a penchant to shouting and harsh words when it came time to try and subdue us. Hell, most women from her era were like that: loud shrews. I can't even count how many times I witnessed other kids get beaten into the ground or screamed at growing up. That being said... I don't blame children who kill their parents, because they probably had a good reason.
