I can't wait to take you on an adventure to discover all the changes and growth in the garden!
The food forest is bursting with growth and there is such a diverse range of plants that I'm excited to show you. This garden has been a lot of fun (and a lot of work) to create, but seeing it go through the recent growth and changes has been relly enjoyable and satisfying. I feel very lucky to have been able to create this beautiful garden and develop this land and I really appreciated the ability to share all the gardening projects, the different plants and fruits with you all.
Thanks so much for watching! :)

So cool to see your food forest developing! I always love to see what you're growing. I followed your directions / advice for stratifying peach seeds and have my fingers crossed the seeds will survive the winter (it's a bit borderline for peaches here). A fun experiment. Your place looks gorgeous!

Hi Kalem, every time I see your garden it makes me think of the Garden of Eden from the Bible. It is amazing to see all of the unusual fruits that you can grow there. The cut Celery in all the different colors looked like a real work of art. Surprised the bugs don't eat the celery but it looks really fresh and beautiful. The Pink or Red Pineapple sounds very interesting and I'm sure they taste awesome being home grown. The plant that looked like Artichokes with the Purple flowers seemed to really flourish well in the environment in New Zealand. Best wishes as you enter the Summer season down in New Zealand.

Kia ora! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing knowledge! It is me and my husband’s dream to move to NZ and start our own food forest & I have taken SO much inspiration from your channel. It’s so important for us coming from the USA to stay away from capitalism and what that does (and has done) to our soil and beautiful Mother Earth. I hope one day when we make it there that we can meet to sponge up some of your knowledge to start our own food forest! 😊

Your garden is so incredible. I live in a condo in New Jersey in the USA and I’m allowed to have three pots and they can’t be bigger than 2 foot across and 2 foot high but the flowers in them early the herbs can be big but I have to contain them. So seeing your garden, just makes me want to go move somewhere where there’s space and a little bit of freedom. If you can’t tell, I really do like gardening shows. I look forward to your next video and I hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday season. Kathy.

Wonderful to see this tour of you garden, and that your doing well. Cheers from Idaho. Be careful with kale, it will concentrate any heavy metals in the soil. Kale also has a lot of oxalic acid, which contributes to kidney stones.

Kia ora. It may be worthwhile putting in a small pond or ponds with large rocks around the edges for capturing heat in Winter and cooling the block in Summer; also as a bed for aquatic plants like water lilies (there are fragrant water lilies); you can also try planting some NZ natives like Pukatea and other swamp dwellers like Rimu and Kahikatea just next to the ponds. The ponds should attract frogs and birds. A grape vine like Lakemont Seedless trellised next to the house will provide shade in Summer and let sun through in Winter and its green grapes are delicious. Kia kaha e te paruauru.

With bananas it's a bit insane how to describe them: They are shrub like, but act like tall herbs, which die on making berries, which can be very starchy to very sugary. Also being a herb, the leaves are useful.

Love seeing what you have grown. I wish I had as much luck with my seed plantings. Have you thought about trying these: The Jersey cabbage (Brassica oleracea longata) is a variety of cabbage native to the Channel Islands that grows to a great height and was formerly commonly used there as livestock fodder and for making walking sticks. It is also known as Jersey kale or cow cabbage,[1] and by a variety of local names including giant cabbage,[1] long jacks, tree cabbage and the French chour and chou à vacque. We use the leaves to make caldo verde soup in Portugal.

You can make a tea with comfrey by steeping the leaves in a bucket of water, use a brick to weigh the leaves down. Takes 4-6 weeks but then you'll have a tea that can be watered down and used for indoor or outdoor plants. The leaves can still be used in the garden and will break up faster as the water already started the process.
