Insta360 Ace Pro is the latest on the action camera market. The Sony Fdr x3000 is possibly the oldest still good action camera on the market. I am not claiming that the Sony FDR X3000 is better than the Insta360 Ace Pro. But do you really need the latest and possibly the very best.
When it comes to sensor size and functions, the Insta360 Ace Pro is of course a better camera. But that doesn't mean you need it?. I think that most people manage with what they have and it is not always necessary to have the latest. I love my Sony FDR X3000 camera, it is a camera that is impossible to sell. There's just something nostalgic about it. And it still delivers good quality, I can't believe Sony isn't making a sequel to this amazing camera.
Insta360 has been doing a lot right lately, they are challenging those who are market leaders. And I like that, the camera is not perfect. It has its bugs, but nothing is perfect. Think, a mix of both would have been perfect.
Please let me know what you think, are there huge differences?

totally agree! I ve got both action cams since one month and half and I just added the Ace Pro on Facebook market place! ... a lot of chinese agressive marketing about the Cae Pro but what a desappointment and if you want to reurn it, you have to pay the shipping costs.

Thank you. I always enjoyed using my x3000, especially in low lighting. Mine quit working about 2 years ago and it’s costly to get it repaired. I never really cared for GoPro then, but little choices led me to use GoPro for the last two years. I was contemplating purchasing the Action Four, but held off because I know the super wide aspect ratio was not my friend! Also, the Action 4 is sort of plain in terms of innovation. Then, the Ace Pro came out, I was immediately impressed “with everything about it”! I don’t have a use case for 10 bit, and I enjoy the flip screen. I don’t have a focus issue because I use it for action, not head shots! Unlike you, once adjusted properly, I think the video from the Ace Pro is more natural than other action cameras, as it does not look like action camera images. Maybe that is what’s tripping some reviewers up-they expect it to look like DJI; GoPro, or in this case the X3000. There have been great strides in image quality over the past few years, including the Ace Pro, but most important is the innovation that the Ace Pro brings to the market. Time to move forward, and maybe relax yourself to the fact that this new camera has changed everything.

Hi 😀thanks for the comment and for watching. X3000 is a fantastic camera and for its age it perfom really good. Yeah there are better camera and the progress on the action camera marked is awesome. Action 4 is my favorite camera, the image quality is superior, the colors are correct and 10 bit is incredibly good. Ace pro is also a good camera, like the action 4 it has good image quality and fairly correct colors. The flip up screen is also useful. Have a awesome day 😀

Great review as usual, I have the AS50 and still love it but it's outdated compared to Ace Pro. Sony should have went with a more standard design format, the weird chasis is just too weird for mounting.

I actually preferred the design of the sony X3000 with the barrel shape instead of the box shaped Gopro style cameras. When mounted, it was hardly visible. I spent years with it on the front of my paddle board, on my cycling helmet and on the handlebars. It was just an awesome camera. Sony wants 300 to repair mine. I think it drank a little too much water when on the front of my board!

@@mstuartkendallThat design is actually very good for helmet, cause it's side mount flat, I agree but front, chest mount, nope lol. Don't get me wrong, I have two of these "pen" style actioncam, I have the Sony AS50 and if you remember, my first actioncam was the Contour and I loved that thing, still have it and still works lol

@@EspenJohan I think Sony has given up on the action camera market. I use to sell cameras and was good friends with one of the Sony regional reps. He told me (last year) that Sony has refocused on selling their mirrorless and prime shooters, they are looking to drop their other lines. If they go back to action cam I think they have a lot to catch up, it would have to be crazy innovative for actioncamers to even consider their stuff, look at the Ace Pro for example lol

Would you say that the fdr-ax3000 is your favourite camera? Otherwise which one would it be? (EDIT) Just heard you say that it is the dji action 4. Now I wait to hear why :))

That's a good question, well the x3000 is one of my favorites. The reason is that it just works and the video and audio quality is good. My favorite camera is the action 4, the video quality is really good and it's a 10 bit camera. Thanks for watching 😀

I think the X3000 has still got the better image quality and more clarity but the Insta does a better job of handling the light in the sky the Insta is so close to winning.

I agree with you that the Ace Pro is not revolutionary, but the DJI Action 4 sucks. It's worse. Now the DJI Pocket 3 is certainly revolutionary.

Ace pro is what it is, a good action camera. What I do like is the flip up screen. Well I don't agree on the action 4, I still think that's the best action camera. Pocket 3 is amazing 👍. Thanks for watching 😀
