@@hughhou Hi Hugh:) How have you managed to export 360 Video with Insta360 studio with ambisonic audio? Insta360 studio outputs just stereo mix (is it even binaural?) I guess there is internal binauralizer in Insta360 studio which produce 2 channel stereo. I am new to ambisonics but there is difference in just 4 channel sorround and 4 channel 1st order ambisonics? Zoom h2n records spatial audio (1st order ambisonics) but without above and below soundfield. Zoom h3 vr has true 1st order ambisonics) What kind of ambisonics is recorded with Insta360 one x2? At least output is true binaural stereo audio like ASMR?

Hello. Could you please explain how you processed the audio output from the X2 to provide the moving sound as you pan around the scene? I am wanting to video a walk for instance and view the footage on a headset, with the sound direction changing as I turn my head.

Thanks for all your videos. I looked a lot, but did not find how to transfer from insta360 one x2 to RU-vid without unnecessary settings to get spatial sound. Can this be done with insta360 studio + adobe preimere only?

@@hughhou Hello again! I have a question about audio on the one R. I tried connecting my Tascam DR-05x to my insta360 one R using the insta360 USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, first using an attenuating cable into the mic input of the Tascam, then I tried a TRS- TRS cable, but it seems no audio was being picked up at all. I then tried my Rode Videomic Go using a TRS-TRS cable, and it worked fine. It is even possible to use the Tascam DR-05x field recorder as a microphone for the insta360 one R or do I have to use a simple mic setup? Thanks Hugh!

Thanks Hugh. As instructed, I watched this on my Quest 2 and headphones and was impressed by the video quality of the X2 and even the audio. It seems definitely as good (if not better) than some pro VR videos made just a year ago especially the closeups. I am echoing another comment when I am asking about workflow for video output. What output options did you go for and did you denoise etc and do a lot of processing in Premiere? Thanks again.

Hi! I'm planning to get a pocket cam and I'm torn between insta360 one R and one X2. I do not currently own any action cams and the one R's modular design is tempting. However, it appears that the X2 is more durable since it comes in one piece. Given that I'm not sure when and if I will be able to buy the 1-inch sensor lens for the One R, would you think going for the X2 is better than going for the One R (twin edition)? Is the One R's 4k lens a lot better than the 360 lenses given that you can use the X2 as a normal front facing cam? Thanks in advance!

If I tell you in a week - there will be a huge discount on One R Twin edition, if that change your mind? So you can get cheaper One R basically. At this point, One R and One X2 is almost identical - yes One R is missing this feature - 3D audio, but you can upgrade later with an external Mic like Zoom H3-VR

I was waiting for H3VR to be sprayed by the sea, but it didn't happen... The microphone in the camera is useless if it can't reduce the wind cut。 I use H2n + Qoocam 8K,There is no big difference between H3 VR and H2N? What do you think? And Did you use auto Limiter? I am worried whether this will make the surround sound effect less obvious?

I wish Insta360 ONE X2 has auto limiter or I can control the input volume. The wind noise clip the audio ... Zoom I really dail the input audio down so it sound a lot better. H3 VR has height info - listen to the water hitting the tripod up close - you can not capture that height info in H2N. And water did hit my H3 VR base lol - I just did not use that part of the video as I rush to the mic to save it!

@@hughhou a side track on audio. Qoocam 8K VS X2, I wonder the workflow between these 2 and their strength/weakness comparisons. Hmmmmm I deciding which is better to purchase for video purposes. And workflow is really a big concern for me.

Thank you very much for this comparison of the different camera mics / mics. ... Ambisonics is a big, big topic. I was totally surprised that a so high end software like Davinic Resolve doesn't support this old and well know audio format. ... VR is a big topic for the future. ... If you know a workaround to create VR content in Ambisonics while using Davinici Resolve for editing it would be a brilliant topic for a future episode of your Davinic Resolve series. ... A shame that the H2N or H3-VR record in ambisonics (input) and Davinci is only able to deliver a stereo audio as current output.

How do I capture spatial audio with 4 mics ? I've tried but sound always come from front also if I move around camera while speaking...

Spatial audio (which includes stereo and surround, not just ambisonics) derives its image from differences in volume and arrival time of sound waves. In other words, how loud something is and how quickly that sound reaches the mic . If you're speaking near direct on top of the mic capsules there will be little difference of either, and thus little "space" to capture. This means that If you're speaking close to the mics, you won't hear a huge difference. Move farther away and you will notice more of a difference. Your issue may also be decoding the spatial audio. Ambisonics need to be decoded to provide that spaciousness - much like a 360 camera needs a special player. Lookup decoding spatial audio to get started.

Yes, it is 4 channel mono in the lrv file too - you can layer then easily in Premiere

Very nice video but noise of waves is a little bit too hard. Really have to focus to hear you properly at the start of the video. The video quality is decent for a consumer level 360-camera

At the beginning is spatial audio as well, try to turn around / move around to find the loudest direction of the audio coming from :) I intentionally make it that way so people will realize to move around the frame :) Thank you for the feedback tho!

Are you sure you are on 5K resolution - please make sure switch to that quality as RU-vid will not default give you the highest resolution.

Super this test, and we can see that the Ambisonic sound is relatively well managed by the Insta360 One X2, even if the sound is still a little "Metallic" and not very natural (big defect in Insta360 in general), and that of the GoPro Max is rather weak in sound level, and more deaf. On the other hand, the sound of the Micro Zoom H3-VR is bluffing of Audio quality and spatialization !!! PS: On the other hand, the image of the Insta360 One X2 is just beautiful and super detailed, compared to the GoPro Max !!!

Yes, in well lit places - One X2 is better. Also higher resolution than MAX.

The audio is not good at all on the OneX2. Seems they have an incorrect software processing happening, it is very muffled. Zoom is best.

What a piece of junk, the Insta360 one X2 !! Had I known from the begining that you need to connect the camera to a phone( in my case An Apple Phone because my $1'000 dollar samsung Note 8 that accepts everything refused to connect by bluetooth to this camera. Maybe you should make consumer aware of the pitfalls of investing in junk like this and not so much what a 360 video looks like.....( as far as tools go...) its garbage and can not stand on its own..
