The Insta360 ONE X2 is a wonderfully fun tool to create with. Attaching the Insta360 ONE X2 to your drone allows you to capture some quite fantastic footage, the adapters seem well designed and are sturdy, however I did notice the DJI Mavic 2 Pro gimbal vibrated quite a lot, as you can see that didn't affect the footage in anyway at all, nor did it the flight. I prefer using it under the drone as I can then look down with the camera, with it mounted on top of the drone the viewing angle was somewhat useless to me as all I saw were props or sky. Taking off and landing is a little awkward and you need to hand launch and hand land. For $16 it's a great little kit.

Congratz on the 30K Phillip, 50K is not too far away! The footage of the One X2 was too die for, my mind is still trying to comprehend what it just saw and how to ' read' it. A laughing mirror was the first thing that came to mind. The sphere images....fantastic! Cool video as always.

Congrats on the 30K subs. I found that watching the 360 footage a little hard as it was giving me a bit of motion sickness. I had the opportunity to try the DJI FPV and I got the same sensation. I'm sure it could be something that I would get used to with practice. Amazing potential though.

I'm afraid I tried, but it felt so unstable I grabbed it out of the air as I felt it was going to crash. So if you do want to attach it, buy the DJI Mini handheld attachment, I did a video on that about a year ago.

Sure, I did, Seemed to work fine, when mounted on top I noticed I had problems in some cases calibrating the compass.

GPS was fine with the X2 mounted underneath the drone. I really don't see any point mounting it on top, unless you have something very specific you want to shoot above.

Thank You!! Yes, the more I use it the more I love it, especially the app! I've found the audio to be okay, I've also tried it with the adapter, of course that's much better with an external mic, but annoying to have to plug all of it in.

Thank You Rick! DaVinci is basically the best out there, and it's free, however I prefer the workflow on Final Cut Pro X, but you need to be running IOS for that.

It’s possible, but the Mini 2 has it’s own attachments that will fit it.

@@PhillipSkraba thank you. I just looked it up amd couldnt find anything for the mini, vit i found a cool one for the Air 2s. The Air 2s has an adapter where you take the 360sphere apart and mount one lens on top of the drone pointing up, one on the side of the drone and one lens below the drone pointing down. This makes the drone invisible when the images are all stitched together. I can't find anything for the mini 2 though on the Insta website. Is it a similar design though?

The Sphere has incredibly bad stitching, so beware of that. The Mini 2 has attachments you can use for this, such as the handheld attachment, it has a 1/40 20 you can screw this device into, and works just like it does here.

Hey Luis! The Mini 2 does a great job, much like the Mavic 2 Pro, but the potential of the Insta360 is insane, total different look, so I understand it's not for everyone but I feel it has a strong place in cinematography and capturing certain shots.

Hey Phillip. Consider buying some genuine DJI gimbal dampers and replace the soft rubber ones issued with the camera with DJI’s. Much better quality rubber, which absorbs the vibrations better.

I CAN'T SPEND anymore money...haha. I just bought the MINI 2 with a ton of accessories. My 'MINICOPTER 2' has had one flight and it's way quieter, looking forward to a nice day to fly.I still need to get on track with FCP...I am still way lost. Anyway...entertaining video. The looks you can get with the Insta 360 are amazing. Question: Did you attach the 360 to the MINI 2? I might think it would be too heavy for the little guy.

Well, I flew it in Sports Mode on the 2 Pro, so 70km speeds, and it seems to be fine. It can be damaged if you hit something or let it auto land I guess.

Cool video and effects but the doubtful design of the mount. It is not aligned with the center of gravity [of the drone] which causes the drone [gimbal camera] to wobble. Still it's another option when recording arial photos and videos.

Yeah!...but needs a different adapter...so far the only one I’ve been using is on top of the Mini2...either way the effects are amazing tho 🤙

So, the GO 2 I'm quite excited for, Insta360 said they'll send it to me towards the end of the month, so hoping to get it soon. I did try attaching the ONE X2 to the Mini 2 and it's good I have quick reactions, it basically went crazy and I had to catch it before it hit the ground. I mounted it below the Mini 2 for best view and it just couldn't handle it. I'm guessing the GO 2 will be no problem though.

I dared to put the insta 360 OneX2 on the DJI mini 2... it worked, in non windy conditions

@@PhillipSkraba haha, I couldn’t find the right bracket for putting it on the bottom. It would definitely make for better footage though. Anyway I’m surprised that the mini 2 can handle such weight, I think the Insta360 OneR would work much better because of the shape. The one x2 is too tall.

How can you go to all the effort of testing a 360 camera on a Mavic and only be interested in the gimmicky effects and miss the whole point in using the shots to fake FPV. i suppose gimmicks attract gimmicks...

No! I hated them too!! Didn't see the point. When I first used the Insta360 ONE R though, I changed my mind. They're just fun, so much fun. The crazy things you can do with them is just wild. Have a go, I'm sure you'll change your mind.

@@PhillipSkraba That's the thing. I don't see the point of shooting a 360 video and most of the time it's confusing. But the ability to choose every perspective you want after filming doesn't sound too bad...

Well, I'm with you on that, I don't see the point in 360 video either, plus I have quite serious motion sickness so it's not for me, but being able to pull and choose frames from a 360 video, that opens up a whole different world for me, totally true!
