Was wondering if you use iPhone or Android first file transfers I’ve had massive problems with the x3 so I’ve taken it back to Costco today for a fefund do I’m up for the x4 now where can I buy a package tomorrow please

Hi, do you know if the X4 will work with the original wireless go? I am not sure why the jack adapter would present a problem and the original mic is still thinner than the camera so should fit into the stitch zone. I may have to get one and try it but trying to check beforehand.

Hi Darren, I bought it as I saw that the video quality is so much better now. The big benefit is that you can select the perspective later and it looks like you have used two or three cameras in parallel.

I have the X3. Struggles in low light. How is the X4 in low light? Like the resolution bump & the lense covers. Great cameras though. Use it skiing & biking.

resolution bumps means each pixel has less light to work with due to same size sensor

Hey man, I trust your opinion. I have the X3 currently for filming group bicycle rides at night. It struggles with low light. Do you see any improvement over the X3 with night-filming? What do you suggest for filming streets at night? So far, an iPhone seems to get the best footage, but its a struggles to film AND ride. Thanks for any suggestions you might have. Thanks!

Not much better in low light if better at all. The Ace Pro is better in low light but it's not 360, of course.

We defo need some sample footage in Lakeland conditions. All the videos I’ve seen to date are filmed in bright sunlight, but here in the LD we know it’s challenging to get bright shiny footage 😂😂😂

Im on the fence with this. Never impressed with x3 low quality and fisheye . But x4 looks a big upgrade on both parameters. Looking for an all round motorbike camera . Since selling the dji mini4 pro drone I have the dji osmo action 4 on a chin mount. And this would be another good addition to the kit. Without actually seeing the product from my local jessops or wix its a bit of a punt and the large bit rate and post processing kinda puts me off. But i guess its another evolutionary step in the 360 game so probably gonna take a punt

Well worth the upgrade. Everything just seems to work better. Especially the powering on. I have x2 x3 rs 1 and the rx1 thus is the best in my opinion

Insta has addressed the two main drawbacks for me. Quality imagery and screen protection. I scratched my X3 by just touching a tree branch. I had the damage coverage and I am glad they replaced it but I had no camera for 3 weeks. The previous sticky lenses were just unusable so I am glad to see that they added an easy to use apply and remove protection. I understand they provide plastic ones in the box and Premium lenses sold separately. Have you reviewed with both?

There's a channel that reviewed the standard and premium. The premiums had more glare but image quality wise there was no difference

WHYYYYYY are interval options removed in the 8K Timelapse mode in X4?? It is literally worse than the X3 on top of the minimum shutter speed now at 1/40 instead of 1/30. WHYYYY???????

Buyer beware on all these videos - this is RU-vidr influencer at its HIGHEST - the embargo has lifted - there are 50 videos out there about this "ACTION CAMERA" - and what NONE OF THEM TELL YOU - is that these lenses are DELICATE - like you WILL SCRATCH the lens in snow - or on a bike trail - or a dropping it on a table - and then - it will cost (at least it did on previous models) $99 to fix it - or all your footage will have a smudge from the scratch. Also - you have to write an email to them explaining it - then wait 4 weeks for a reply - then fill out a form and pay the $99 plus shipping - to CHINA - then - wait another 4 weeks - until you get our camera back.....ALL of these videos got a FREE camera - and then went snowboarding - and if they had to pay $500 for the camera - then another $99 if they dropped it in the snow - which WILL scratch it - they would not use it. The lens guards dont work - in fact I had one scratch my actual lens when the camera hit the ground while not even snowboarding - SLEDDING on a bunny hill! BUYER BEWARE! These are just commercials for free cameras given to influencers.

So my friend am a subscriber of your RU-vid channel Here's the thing I started of with the gear 360 But upgraded to the x3 witch I found to be just ok for a RU-vid video so my question to you does the 360 footage look way better than the x3 cos on the x3 for a 360 video really isn't that good the pictures are outstanding but the video on the 360 is Will say not that good I already know you get payment for making videos for them but am still not seeing a 360 video unedited 360 video From you or anyone else

It's definitely better, but that's just my opinion. "Way" better? Not sure. Define "way". True 8k spread across the sphere compared to 5.7k over the same area is a significant improvement. Question though: How many platforms support 8k 360 video? And how large is the audience for 360 video in any resolution? You don't see much 360 footage from ANY camera because very few people actually care about it. Most viewers are still primarily interested in something close to the 16:9 aspect ratio (or its vertical counterpart due to the popular platforms). And even cropped-in 8k footage will also look better than cropped-in 5.7k footage.

2:07 - Insta360 X3 also exports in 4K - just have to slect "Custom" when you are exporting.

Exactly. So does the X2 and likely the One X. However, none of them are true 4k. They upres from the cropped image.

The 8k is a noticeable improvement and probably the best , if you use slow motion a lot then the 5.7k looks the same. For me I’ll just use 8k

If scuba diving is your thing don’t buy the X4. The X4 has a dive case preset which has 8K video. Today I wanted to try my new dive case during a snorkel. I was surprised that it stopped because of ‘over heating’. Or so it notified. Very frustrating for sure. I suspect this overheating problem will be ironed out in the X5.

When shooting video in HDR mode it does not allow you to do 8K. It lowers to 5.7k

Yes it’s capturing a 8k image on both lenses which allows you to crop in and adjust the main image output. The 5.7k exported at 1080p after a 5.7k capture

@@falutvtarjan7772 But what if you do not want very wide angle shots?. Whatever you do, you cannot change the basic maths involved. Sure, you can spread the sensor pixels out into a 4k export but you are not getting 4k resolution. Not even with the X4.
