Basically correct, although you miss out a lot of problems that can occur. One critical final step is to print a bed level pattern with a square in each corner as well as the centre and use the 'Baby Z Step' option from the Tune menu to get a perfect 1st layer. Then adjust the previously entered Z Offset by this amount and re-save to EEPROM. Then never touch the bed levelling screws again. Works brilliantly!
Thank you for making this video it really helped me out, I wasn't going to leave a comment because I have nothing constructive to say but I thought I would help drive some engagement by leaving this comment. Well done sir!
Thank you so much man! The provided documentation for the CRTouch was pretty awful, but I followed every step in this vid and it's working flawlessly now. My newest 3 prints have come out fantastic without needing to touch the bed knobs one bit
Once you change the z offset, what happens if you move the printer and the height of the bed changes say a levelling knob loosens a bit. Do you have to do that whole z setup every time? Is there a way to fix the bed so it’s true self levelling?
hi couple of questions , which version of cura are you using to flash as all the vid ive seen say you need to use the version that came on the sd card . also did you do a manual be level before you installed the bl ?
my install same as yours. The probes to the right stop a long way from the right edge of the bed and it would seem it should be doing one more ,probe further to the right. Have you been able to solve this?
Hello, I have the same printer. I installed the bl touch with the same procedure but when I try to print the nozzle doesn't go to -3. Do you have any solution?
How did you do this? Mine homes to the Center, and, is 11.3 above the board. When I choose to MOVE Z, it's at 0, and I have to go to -11.2ish, to get it to the paper. If I set my Z OFFSET to -11.2, it grinds into the glass. I've been trying to figure this out for hours....
I was about to give up and remove the bl touch or use a custom fiirmware because my V3 would print in the air. After setting the z offset initially and then start a test print, it would still print in the air. So I stop the print, confirm that I have a z-offset and it was showing -3.08. I click the auto home again, then move Z-axis till it paper catches, and I get -3.08. So I back out. I start a test print again and while it’s printing in the air, I go to TUNE > BABYSTEP Z. I adjust the Z-Offset till filament is sticking to the bed while it prints. It was -1.0 to get it right. So I click stop the print and go to CONTROL> MOTION > change the z offset to -4.08 to add the -1.0 I just recorded. Go back from menu and Push SAVE SETTING. I re-start the print again and finally it prints to the bed. Hope this works for you too!
can anyone tell me why there are a dozen different "official" creality websites that all completely different from one another and none of them have the Cr10v3 firmware
Hey, nice video, i have a problem with the extruder when the filment is going back up a tiny bit it gives a scratching noise as if 2 rubber forcely sliding into eachother give it a scratchy sound but when it is going down there is no noise of that just when it goes up everytime, i dont know what to do and it really annoys me, thank you in advance
When I try to install custom firmware it says there is no connection even thought there is a cable running through it, I’ve tried different cables and different computers, and Mac and windows, and nothing works
I'm only planning on buying a CR-10v3 and BLtouch, but I do have an i3 mega - and that one requires a driver for the PC to be able to talk to it. Did you check if you need a driver for your CR-10?
no its already wired from the X back to the motherboard, no need to open the umbilical control box, just remove the screws holding the little black cover on the X by the stepper and plug in the BL Touch or in my case the CR Touch. works for either.
Ungh. This video is not helpful. No showing what the V3 screen looks like to adjust the Z offset. No description of how to get the V3 to the point where you set the Z offset...
it misses out quite a lot , such as you must set the bed level before install with your paper at 4 corners . you must have the correct driver installed to make your computer see the printer , you have to initilise the eeprom during z offset
