This is a straight forward and very easy to follow tutorial, thanks. What is a concern to me, is how for the life of me, there are six people who gave it the thumbs down. WOW hard to please everybody. Maybe they expected you to actually do it for them!
Hot Tip!! If you don't pull the covering off correctly & break a clip (I broke 2 of them) don't despair! The snap clips are used by Honda in a LOT of applications & you can get them from any Honda dealer parts counter - it's a very common part, for 88 cents each! Next tip - I used zip ties instead of the pop clip - much easier to install & remove - just snip it! The part is called a Snap Fitting Grill Clip, part number 90666-SDA-A01
Jim Colbert - first I used zip ties & when I found oboist the clips, I bought them, took it apart (cut the zip ties) & did it correctly. Zip ties will work no problem but I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to design things. Hope that makes sense.
I installed a Cee Bailey windscreen with vent on my wife's 2014 CTX700 DCT. I wish I would have seen this video before my install about a year ago. Great Job.

After all this time, this video is STILL useful! I used it to install a GIVI wide shield. How would I have known about the pop-pin locations and removal without you? I have a suggestion, though. It's REALLY easy to drop one of the second set of pins if you're holding it with your fingers. (One of those pins is down in my lower cowling somewhere.) Using pliers to grip the pin in removal would help prevent that. So here's my thanks, Girl.... Stay safe!
BTW I also installed a center stand, hyperlights, screaming banshee air horn and throttlemiester throttle lock. The CTX is a great bike and wife has done a 700 mile day on it and never had a problem with it over 8000 miles.
+Brent Wahl A 700 mile day? Holy smoke. That's testament to its comfort I guess. I am wavering over whether to swap my 2012 V-Strom for one of these (so when in a city I don't have hand pain changing gears manually all of the time). That 700 mile day thing.... that is encouraging.
Hi, I got my CeeBailey windscrenn, but when I pulled the front cowl off, the little while clips that help hold it on broke. I took it off slow and easy, but still broke 2 of the clips. Found out that nobody stocks these clips, so had to order them and wait 3 days to get them. I would recommend that people go ahead and order these clips a few days ahead of time just in case. The clips were on 57 cents each, so a good idea to order ahead. By the way, great video, it helped me a lot!
Thanks for this video! I just installed my Cee Bailey windshield on my CTX700 today and it was very easy -- except getting those clips back in on the front fairing bit with my big ol' hands. Big help!
Excellent video. Just installed my Cee Bailey in about an hour. The button fasteners on the front cowl are a trick to replace. That step alone took as much time as the rest of the install. THANKS!

Great video. I just started riding a little kawi eliminator but am already thinking about my next bike. The only grip I have had with the ctx is the small wind screen. After this video I might have to take a serious look at one. Thanks. You earned a new subscriber, hope to see new videos soon.

If you're looking at after market options, the two biggest contenders are the Cee Bailey and Madstad. I've go the Madstad. The Madstad screen is adjustable with respect to length, angle, and distance from the mount and is supposed to be less buffeting, but who knows if that's true unless one has tried or ridden a CTX700 with each one. The Madstad is not as wide and so does not have those cut outs to miss the mirrors. The Cee Bailey gets better overall reviews. The base of the Madstad mounts pretty much like the Cee Bailey, but then you mount the actual windscreen on the base. I can't speak for the Cee Bailey, but the Madstad creates zero vacuum or buffeting, but there is an issue with the Madstad, so be careful what size you order. The biggest issue I see with the Madstad is that they recommend on their website screen sizes that are too short to be effective for those of a particular height: those up to 5'10" get the 12"; and then graduated up after that to 14" and 16". But I"ve seen posts on forums where riders as short as 5'8" got a 16" and they love it. I wish mine were 16", because I look way over the screen when I have the base of the screen rolled down low, and if I roll it up higher, it doesn't help, because then it's up too high relative to the base and so it doesn't tunnel the air up over ones' head like its supposed to. So the Madstad, adjustable screen is a good system, but it would be for shorter folks up to about 5'10" with the tallest screen only, and I would not recommend anything below the tallest screen unless one is 5'6" or below. To get a replacement 16" will cost me around $200 after shipping, and so I just keep riding with my 12" which is still far better than the stock shorty screen or the Honda tall screen from what I"ve heard and read.

Looking to purchase this bike 2017 CTX700 DCT ABS with larger windscreen. How is the wind/weather protection when riding on less than perfect days? 1 hour commute each way 5 days a week.
What height is the screen you put on, how tall are you as the rider, and would you still recommend that screen height? Looking at CB's site, I am truly on the cusp of the short shield to the next size - I'm 5' 8".
i have a ctx700 and I was always curious as to why the side panels look like they could house a speaker. what are your thoughts and thanks for the video
How many miles can you get? Just bought 1 Got 205 miles still have more gas. 2.99 gallons was only used Just put crash bars on last week Waiting for puig windscreen, cuz cee baileys does not make these anymore I even called them. Sad I want 1 of these few more inches taller

That screen looks just the business on that bike doesn't it. I got the feeling that that last piece of fairing (the dark grey plastic with what looks like speakers in it) hadn't gone back on properly... the bit you pushed your thumb down onto toward the last moments of the video. That stuff is damn tricky. I have the same system of fastenings on my Suzuki, and I am never quite sure if everything is secure :)
+staninjapan07 can you add a speaker in that? I was hoping she flipped the panel but she didn't. Most likely it's possible to add a marine speaker if it had the opening.

If you can do this job including all the push clips and panel removal in 2 minutes, you are THE fastest mechanic I have ever encountered. I challenge you to video yourself doing this in 2 minutes, otherwise I say bullsh*t and your are just a d-bag. Put up or shut up, busybody1
