Thanks for the video, I found it useful. I have a 2022 BMW F750 GS and I fitted the TN5129 today - keep everything loose until all fitted. A few points that may help; 1) I find it strange that Givi provide a mix of bolt types - Hex, Allen Key, Phillips - silver and black !! Horrible ! When we know BMW use Torx almost everywhere, 2) I did not have to remove the right side fairing I just eased it out of the way and covered the edge with a thick cloth to get to the T55 bolt, 3) I reused the original T55 bolts with the Torx heads - they have over 15 turns of grab - the one issue I had was the rear T55 bolt has a washer that cannot be removed and will not fit in the new Givi spacer, they apply the washer then tap the bolt so you cannot lose the washer ! An Angle Grinder fixed that ! For the front T55 I left the washer on. 4) I reused the lower bracket Torx bolt as well - man is that one done up tight ! and thread locked !. Reusing the original bolts looks so much better. Thanks to others for notes on the torque settings 84 - no way !!
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 Год назад
Thanks for the notes! And yeah, that 84 spec on the torque is STUPID high. Anyone that torques to that will strip the case threads.

I realize this is an older video, but I did watch a few times when looking for crash bar ideas on my '21 model. For anyone with a new '21, be aware they won't fit even though everything on the bike is basically the same. The O2 sensor on the exhaust was moved forward a little bit and won't allow for the bracket to be attached (my guess is emissions changes for Euro 5 ??) . I did find the SW Motech to fit OK.
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 3 года назад
Great tip and thanks for sharing with everyone. Yep, makes sense as a lot of Euro5 bits are exhaust related. Shame but GIVI will likely figure it out.

Update on my previous comment - oh man there are always one or two bolts that do not mate up ! Today I fitted the left side and could not reuse the BMW Torx bolts up top due to the spacers. Fair enough. I re-used the lower one. The bars left hand top 2 bolts were quite tough to mate up and I had to jack the bars from below keeping everything in play. Also I could not use the two locking nuts on the left as they just would not slide into place. Then there was no way, even with two rachet straps, I could get the pieces together in front of the radiator - it would fit easy either side but not both, grease no help. I had to remove both bars completely, join them together and then slide in place from below. It worked but threw a few other bolts off - which required a rachet strap - which exploded - supposed to take 270kgs of pressure !! So another 3 hours today and it's done. I had previously fitted Givi bars on my Royal Enfield Himalayan and that was an easy job, hence why I went for Givi again. I'm going to need a GoFundMe if a Mechanic ever has to take them off ;-)

Thanks for making this, it was super helpful and saved me a lot of time. Didn't need to remove the plastic like you mentioned, also managed to get the center connected before attaching the left side. My instructions called for the lower brackets to have torque of 23Nm for the smaller screws and 48Nm for the larger ones instead of 84. The engine bolts in the upper brackets were still 84.

sounds like they updated the instructions which is good. the original torque specs were intense.

Hello Adam,, Installed the same Givi Engine Guards for my BMW 750GS same color but with ESA. And funny I got the same Sargent Low Seat in exact same black. Trick to getting the bolts up front is to bolt those on after lightly fitting both sides. I lightly unbolted gear side bars, lightly tightened both front bolts to connect the two sides. Finally I tightend down the front bolts and then the engine side bars. Like you, I used medium thread lock for insurance. Rock solid bars and they don't hinder the look of the F750GS. Happy riding.

Thanks for the video. A good reference before attempting the fit on my F850GS. Very happy with the end result... I even managed (after much effort) to get the final screw in on the connecting bar. P.S. The European documentation recommends 84nm for upper brackets and 48nm/23nm lower brackets.

Great vid. I had very similar issues when installing this same set of GIVI crashbars on my F850GS. I figured that the high torque spec on the right side lower crashbar mounts was a typo - it seemed way too high for those bolts threading directly into the engine. I, too, could only get one of the screws linking the left bars to the right to fit.

So I just spent hours trying to install a set of updated model GIVI crash bars for later bikes, P/N TN5129, on a 2022 F750GS and it does not fit. Even with everything still loose, the right side bars are a long way off from fitting the lower mounts by at least 6-9mm. More critically the rear right main engine bolt replacement bolt from GIVI (120mm stated and re-measured) is too long and bottoms out in the engine thread before being even close to be able to tighten. With the new GIVI supplied 120mm right rear engine bolt bottomed out (i.e. threaded all the way in) there is still 4-5mm of visible thread between the new GIVI supplied spacers, washers, and the mount itself when fitted. It's all be more than quadruple checked and is correctly fitted. It just does not work. As Adam mentioned, the tube joiner in the front lower of the radiator is way off from joining. Mine is way worse than his (Heather's) was from a distance apart perspective. The instructions are terrible. There are no bolt torque figures listed, nor do they list all the tools required. I'll be getting onto GIVI distributer tomorrow, but I'm expecting a "goat rope" of a time sorting this out.
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 2 года назад
This is because the 2022 is EURO5 compliant so the entire lower portion design changed by a couple of inches. You’ll have to purchase a newer model from GIVI that works with that revision. It was a silent change that made crash bars, skid plates and aftermarket exhaust for F750 completely not fit. Happened right after we bought this one so I’m sorry for misleading you.

Does it protect the upper plastic (around the bmw sign) ? Could you lay the motorcycle on the one side on the ground and check?
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 4 года назад
Heather already dropped the bike going up our driveway. The upper fairing didn't touch the ground the but the outside of the handlebars (bark buster covered) did get pretty scratched up. The bike was completely on its side. In my opinion, no uppers are needed. If you crash hard enough to need them, broken fairings are probably least of your issues.

Adam, I have not been able to remove that motor mount bolt @ 5:27 more than about a dozen threads. Tried warming the engine up, putting lift under the engine as I unscrewed, heat, breaker bar nothing has worked, it feels like it might be catching on the frame as the threads of the bolt hit the steel of the frame. Did you run into any issues? None of the others put up a fight. Any suggestions. The dealer is about an hour away and want $$$ so I was avoiding that for the inconvenience and I'm a diy guy anyway.

Please notice that even TN5129 won’t fit on 2022 model. After 7 hours struggle, I still can’t fit 3 screws in. 1 in the middle the other two are lower front on each side. Sadly I messed up with painting and one screw hole, so return won’t be an option for me. I do have them installed but in a very unstable way.
@AdamChandler86
@AdamChandler86 Год назад
Givi screwed the pooch but I also sort of blame BMW. they took a very low-selling motorcycle and after 1 year on the market, they modified the exhaust and made every skid plate and crash bar no longer fit. Then companies that only had sold maybe 25 copies of their protection had to revised them to make it fit with the new one and a LOT of companies chose not to modify their stuff. So if you have a 2020 or newer F750, most stuff doesn't fit.

For our kind of riding, they're fantastic. I just had to remove them for some other work and they're really easy to remove and just keep the brackets on if you're doing work on the bike's side. When the bike lays over, they keep all plastics off the ground except the Barkbusters. But I should disclose that as soon as AltRider releases their crash bars & Skid plate combo, I'm going to be going with that because I love their products and they're the strongest out there. But GIVI is definitely my 2nd choice. Very strong, nice powder coating job and perfect fitment.

These are fantastic tip-over bars. We've used them at zero speed on some lost footings and they have done the job. no issues. I'm not sure I'd trust them to do more than that...most likely your handlebars will take more of the impact so a good set of bark busters is advised.

Hey Scott. there are I think 3 screws inside of the plastic (at radiator behind wheel / forks) and there are a few more screws at the top of the fuel tank at top of triple tree. then there are some light fasteners that you can just pull on and it comes off. I'd just be careful your first time. If I did it again, I'd go slowly and if you meet resistance, look for a rogue T25 screw holding on.
