GET THE OFFICIAL BOOM AUDIO STAGE 1 OR 2 FRONT AMP AND SPEAKER VIDEO HERE: gumroad.com/l/boominstall
This tutorial video will work for 2014 & newer Harley Davidson touring models with either a batwing or shark nose style fairings & equipped with the Harley-Davidson Boom!™ Box Infotainment System. This video is for installing the Harley-Davison brand Boom Audio Stage 1 or 2 front amp & speakers. We do run the separate wire harness to the rear in this video for the possible future additon of lid/rear speakers & amp. Even if installing the additional lid/rear amp & speakers on your project, this video will likely get you 95% the way there & it will just be plugging in things at the rear. This video covers every aspect of front speaker & amp installation & in great detail.
Note: With a Harley-Davidson brand Boom Audio amp & speakers install you will need a Harley dealership to "flash" or "re-program" your Boom!™ Box Infotainment System to send the appropriate signals to the amp and speakers after install. DO THIS PRIOR to turning on the system after install of amp & speakers or you can damage it. The progrramming software is proprietary of course.
Save your money and do this project yourself right in your garage or on your patio right on the kickstand. No fancy motorcycle lifts, jacks or tools needed.
The video is very thorough and we show you different options for routing and managing wires. We explain what each component actuallydoes and armed with this knowledge the project is a breeze.
As usual, the paper instructions provided by Harley-Davidson with the amp and speaker kit will confuse and frustrate you. That is where this video comes in by breaking it down and showing you exactly how to do each step and why. You will watch in high definition and at the best possible angles. You will listen to actual bikers explain and show things in a way that is easy to understand. It is as if you are right there with us and can reach out and turn a wrench or plug in a wiring harness! This is a video by bikers for bikers. You simply won't find a better Harley-Davidson Boom Audio amp and speaker kit install tutorial video out there.
We suggest mounting your cell phone or music playing device to your handlebars or control cluster using a Biker Gripper. You will certainly want your MP3 player mounted so you can get the most out of your new Boom Audio system. shop.lawabidingbiker.com/colle...
You need only basic tools and can do this project right on the kickstand. So what are you waiting for? Don't waste your money by taking your Harley to a mechanic for this project.

Hello, I have a 2017 ultra limited with the stage 2 boom audio. it has been working fine but now all of a sudden I can not advance to the next song when connected to the flash drive music. Works with the radio as far has changing stations and will work if i blue tooth to my cell phone and play the music on it. I tried a new flash drive and have the latest software version. Would you have any ideas?

Can I remove boom from a 2019 roadglide cvo. And reinstall into a 2016 streetglide? Will I need to do anything or is it all plug and play?

Howdy Ryan! Thanks for putting up all your great, informative videos. I just bought a new 2015 FLTRUSE CVO Road Glide last night. It's got the Stage II sound already on it. My bike has a removable tour pack with the rear passenger seat speakers. My question is, can I add saddlebag lid speakers easily using the wiring that's already in place when the rear tour pack is removed? The guys at the dealership were saying I'd need to buy a new amp as well - but that doesn't make sense to me since there's already an amp powering the front and rear speakers. I just don't need the rear tour pack on the bike, so it will be off almost all the time for me. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. If I can get the lid speakers from you guys, I will. Also, is there any appreciable difference in sound quality by just replacing the speakers only with aftermarket performance speakers? Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. BLESSINGS! Sam

+ace1usmc Rick from LAB here. Look in the 2016 HD catalog and you will see there is a whole page dedicated to what you need depending on the model of the bike. It breaks down what is needed for each model and lists parts numbers. In short based on what you are saying here you will need an app, the saddle bag speakers, the saddle bag lid and of course the amp and speaker install kit. Again, look at the matrix in the catalog and it will walk you through it. Rick.

Hey Ryan, considering the 630 watt xxr on a 2016 road glide ultra cvo. Is the video applicable to my bike? Seems the amp changeout could be a deal without some guidance...

We always caution those with CVO's in every way. They do some really crazy and different stuff. And often times it's not listed in manuals etc........I'd say get the video, watch it and see if it will help for your bike. If not, then kindly email us saying such and that I told you to try it and we'll gladly refund you.

Most likely that the dealer didn't flash the system correct. That happened to Lurch's bike. The dealer put the correct flash in it and it worked awesome. Ride safe & Ride Often! Hey guys, quick question. I currently have harley's boom stage 1 audio installed (harley's 4 channel amp, 2 boom fairing speakers, and 2 fairing lower speakers). I'm upgrading from the 4.3" radio to the 6.5 infotainment, and my question is in regards to getting this radio flashed. I don't want to do any damage, and thus I'm wondering if I can install the radio, and ride it to the dealer for the flash (as long as I keep the radio MUTED). Thanks!

Hey Ryan. I installed the Boom Audio Stage 2 upgrade a few years ago and since I'm debating on swapping out the stock radio for an aftermarket. Do you know if I can do this and still retain the Boom amp or is it proprietary to the stock radio?
@RyanUrlacher
@RyanUrlacher 5 лет назад
There are H-D plugs specific to that Boom Audio System. Don’t think you can work it w/ an aftermarket radio

The Boom Audio Stage 1 and 2 kits are for 2014 and on for models equipped with the Boom Box infotainment system. So pre 2014 is different.

+John Sanchez We can say the Stage 2 we put on the 2015 RGS is impressive. You can hear it fine wearing a full face helmet at freeway speed. The Stage 1 isn't as loud though...
