In this video, I will show you how to install any smart doorbell on your siding. Installing your doorbell on siding is not easy because the manufacturer does not provide any type of siding adapter. Sure they provide a wedge or 2 to change the angle of the doorbell but they will not help you install your smart doorbell on the siding. Your siding is not flat so you will need a special adapter to install your smart doorbell and make it look awesome while not damaging your siding.

SimplySmart123 ✅ Yes, thank you. That was my concern, because my Alexa shows my calendar stuff and reminders, which I wasn’t sure if Google hub Max did, but I want it (whichever), to keep my family safe an ease of use, via voice commands. Thank you!!

I want the Google nest but it’s not compatible with Alexa, in that the AI won’t announce nor say someone is at the front door

SimplySmart123 ✅ Apologies for the repeated question, I just want to be sure because I have the echo show 8 but am wanting a bigger screen. My main want is the AI ability to do face recognition so I wasn’t sure if I should get the Google hub Max or just get the bigger echo show 10, but want to make sure it does the introduction of who’s at the door.

My original doorbell is located high on the siding rather than in the middle of it, will this still work for me?

It should. It takes up the entire siding from top to bottom.

Any need to worry about wiring behind the siding that may interfere with the screws?

My wires come out near the center. But of course, do not screw into the wires.

Any suggestions if there is no stud behind the siding? I assume the vinyl isn't strong enough by itself to hold the doorbell.

Most likely there is plywood behind your siding. If a screw doesn’t seem sufficient into the plywood you could use an anchor that would expand when the screw is installed.

@@SimplySmart123 Didn't find any wood at all (it's a very narrow section of wall between the front door and a big window). We had already purchased one of the 3D printed mounts so we ended up using permanent outdoor mounting tape on the back. Thanks for the feedback!

Doorbell locations can vary. You wouldn't want to use this if it's not mounted directly onto the siding.

Help! Anyone who can tell me if I 1. do I have to connect my existing wires from my doorbell to the doorbell camera? 2. If so how do I securely connect the doorbell camera mount to the aluminum door trim? That trim extends out without and backing wood! Its probably more than a inch! Also whats to stop someone from popping off the camera and stealing the mount and or camera?

Yes you will need to connect your doorbell wires to your doorbell camera for power and also to send the signal to make the bell ring. You could drill a pilot hole into your siding and screw into the siding. If you use a longer screws eventually you will get into the plywood underneath your siding. The mount screws are screwed to your house underneath the doorbell so they would need to remove the doorbell to steal the mount and doorbell. The doorbell also has a screw securing it to the mount that would have to be removed to steal the doorbell.

@@SimplySmart123 thanks! I just needed somone to state the obvious lol. We are leaning towards Arlo! They have a wireless version as well. and now my wife said we could install it inside the foyer side light windows. My greater concern is my crappy WiFi reaching the door. The Router is the latest version and its only about 20 feet away. We tried a less expensive Wyze camera and it would not connect. I just ran a Speed Test with my phone and it was 93 Mps! Also i have to update my crappy Samsung A01 16 gb phone from Verizon. Between them and Samsung i am out of storage and cannot install any apps! You need friggin aps to do anything these days! I love how they use tech to beat us over the head and rape our bank accounts! Sorry for the rant lol.

If you are using the router from your ISP I would buy your own! I just got one and it is totally awesome. I can be way far away from my house and still have Wi-Fi and 5 GHz Wi-Fi throughout every single room with no issues. May also be time for an upgrade on your phone. Arlo will connect to smartthings as well!

Eric states in his video 3 years ago how the vinyl siding square at Lowe’s is an *expensive* $15 but his Ring Pro 2 adapter for Dutch siding is $35!! (as of today 2/10/23). Thanks but no thanks. i couldn’t comment on his videos because he turned comments off……

@@SimplySmart123 update: after messaging Eric on Etsy, the price could go up to $75. It’s not worth the cost and it’s nice but not “way” better. The light fixtures on siding also have a vinyl base so the doorbell will match just fine. My original comment was mainly pointing out that his product is not a money saver as he eluded to in his video. And with some Ring doorbell models currently $40, it makes no sense to spend $35-$75 on a mount.
