As my steering was getting progressively worse, I install the track bar/sector shaft brace from Synergy. The HD tie rod and drag link really helped, but this made driving a LOT better. Honestly, this should've been one of the very FIRST mods I did.

I've enjoyed your steering upgrade videos. I was about to order Synergy TR, DL and sector brace but after watching you vids in reconsidering. Hows the Rustys TR and DL working out? Curious about the TB sector shaft brace as I've read that there were issues with the brass/bronze bushing spinning/not being able to take grease subsequently causing noise issues when turning. Thoughts?
@ShockWaveOffroad
@ShockWaveOffroad 4 года назад
So sorry for the late response. Sometimes this app doesn't give notifications. So, to answer your question about the track bar brace: they've updated the instructions to include the red loctite on the bolts for the sector shaft. I have gone back and done that, and I've not had any issues. Honestly, when I went back to do it, they didn't (seem) like they'd loosened up at all. But, better safe than sorry. All that aside, I STILL believe this is a MUST HAVE for JL/JT owners, JMHO. The Rusty's tie rod/drag link are bad ass. Love the system. Any other questions, fire away. Thanks for following the channel!!👊🏻

There’s an updated version of the instructions to use red loctite on all the bolts/screws that go into to the aluminum brace. The two bolts on the side and the bottom retaining screw. There’s been several instances with them coming loose.

Yes, this is something to check periodically. I had my pitman arm nut loosen up. All of a sudden I had alot of play in my wheel and a funny creak when the wheel was turned. Turned out the pitman arm nut loosened up. Disassembled it, cleaned everything up and made sure everything was aligned properly. Loctited the pitman arm nut and installed it and ran it tight with impact and then double checked it was torqued to spec..and beyond. Then reinstalled the aluminum stabilizer and loctited that hardware and have been good since.

Hey Shawn from Florence Ky/Cincinnati area. I have a question. I installed a RC 2.5” lift on my 15 jku, I added RC adjustable lower control arms front and rear, RC adjustable track bars front and rear, RC track bar brackets front and rear, RC spring perch correction brackets and spring retainers. My question is this. My RC 2.5” lift gave me a decent lift in the front, and on in rear, and I got a JK learn to passenger side. I am adding coil spring spacers to the lift since I just spent a lot on the lift I have now and can’t afford a bigger lift kit. I will be adding 2” to front passenger, 2.5” to rear passenger, 1.5” to front driver and 2” to rear driver. That is giving me eventually 1” all the way around, and the extra .5” to 1” is to fix the lean and level the look of the lean. I have order and in my garage the RC 4-6” extended brake lines front and rear and RC 3-6 high steer drag link flip kit for this spacer add. I have 20” KMC rims and 33” nitto trail grappler tires. I have factory bumpers, no winch and the 20” rim and 33 tire on the rear with the MORYDE tailgate HD hinges so no weight. Is this a ok idea, I know it’s not a suspension spring lift but it’s the cheapest route for now. I am not a hard core off road wheeling guy, it’s my daily driver, I just hit easy muddy trails, bumpy roads, and minimal articulations. Mainly a mall crawler until I pay it off and can afford better parts. I am eventually going to 35-37 tires and a regear. What am I getting into or overlooked
@ShockWaveOffroad
@ShockWaveOffroad 3 года назад
Well, for now, it's a relatively inexpensive way to get the desired look you want. If you're mall crawling, that set up will suit you fine. The "lean" is normal for JK's and JL's because of fuel tank location. Moving forward, if you're eventually going 3" or more of lift, you're DEFINITELY gonna need the exhaust spacer kit. Front driveshaft would be a good idea, too. Make sure whatever shocks you go with are for the amount of lift you have. For a DD, you should be fine. The one caveat is this... (IF) you ever do decide you wanna get a little more serious about your off roading, you'll end up changing everything you're doing now, LOL! Seriously. You've already spent a decent amount of money, so consider this as you continue your build. If you've already got adjustable control arms, if you want a true spring lift later, all you gotta do is get the springs, and adjust CA's and Track bars for that amount of lift. JK's aren't as sensitive to caster as JL's, so get close, and you won't even notice. Enjoyed reading the novel, LOL! Any other questions, feel free to hit me up. 👍🏻👊🏻🤘🏻

You shouldn't need track bar brackets if you have adjustable track bars, the brackets are for the stock track bar's to keep the axles centered, and since you have adjustable you don't need brackets to center the axles just adjust your track bar's. Over a year I know.

Depending on the track bar, sometimes when you turn to lock, the track bar MAY hit the bracket. Turn your wheel all the way and check clearance between track bar and brace.

@ShockWaveOffroad
@ShockWaveOffroad 3 года назад
@@GevoA1 I would CERTAINLY recommend the Synergy track bar and sector shaft brace. I did a video on that. As far as tie rod and drag links go... the Synergy ends seem pretty good and the people I know that have them, have no complaints. I do not regret going with Rusty's. The ends are bad ass and the customer service is outstanding. I've "heard" some negatives about Synergy customer service, but cannot confirm or deny. If I had to do it all over again, Rusty's or RPM would be my choice.
@GevoA1
@GevoA1 3 года назад
@@ShockWaveOffroad appreciate you taking the time. I have seen your other videos and that's why I asked. Also because I wanted another opinion. Currently I have Synergy track bar, tie rod, drag link with rusty's front track bar bracket. Personally I havent been pleased with the synergy stuff. Nothing seems to stay tight, the ball joints spill the fluids and they flop around going over bumps since they dont have those different seals that Rustys and some others do. Plus, the track bar squeaks like crazy. I've been trying to gather some info before I choose a new company to change everything to. Appreciate your help
