This quick video shows the motor mounts that I got from Summit Racing and they are part of the Frame Brace Kit (#SUM-770810) and they are very simple to install.
Would never put side motor mounts in . My 55 hdtp has a 396 4 spd for 40 years . Uses stock mounts . Never broke any , changed them in 2003 when the motor was rebuilt again .never broke a mount !
Are you talking about the two mounts that bolt to the front of the engine? Getting ready to install a 350 in my 55. Seeing all these videos of installing these side mounts but didnt think you had to do that. I think the mounts in the back were for the original 3 speed trans. Do you still use them or did you have to install a different transmission mount? Thanks for any info you can provide.
@dbwaggoner the two studs in the front go in the rear holes for a s.all block , the front holes for a six cylinder or a big block . Just use the stock mounts for the bellhousing. No Trans crossmember. It works fine . If you install a turbo or newer automatic Trans then I recommend putting the side mounts and crossmember kit .good luck
@@bad66chevelles i have power disc brakes on the car ! With a dual master cylinder ! All gm impala parts . Before there were kits we went to junk yards and found parts that fit .
I purchased the Summit Racing Frame Brace Kits (SUM-770810) and they came with it. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them available separate from the frame brace.
