According to the wishes of some subscribers - a video showing how we changed the reflectors in the driver's and passenger's door to warning lights that turn on when the door is opened.
As shown in the video, Chinese substitude No. 8KD 947 411 were used. By default, they were equipped with a black case, thanks to which they held better in the door trim Original lights from audi (8D0 947 411) bought at online auction (dirt cheap) unfortunately did not have such casing and after mounting in the door they were loosely fitted to the trim.
The film shows how to remove the door trim, how to connect the warning light wires to the door's control unit and the coding of the unit.
So the above-mentioned lamps are needed, and also connectors (No. 000 979 009) for cable fittings and connecting in the door's control unit plug.
To unscrew the upholstery, you need a Torx T30 screwdriver.
According to the wiring diagram, the lamp wires should be connected to pin 16 ("+") and pin 5 ("-") of the door control unit. The video shows the connection to the controller No. 5Q4 959 393 B.
A soldering iron may also be useful for connecting the lamp cable ("-") to the minus cable from the controller (if the cables are soldered).
NOTE 1: Although Chinese lamps often have "-" wires with crimp eyelet terminals to screw them to chassis, such connection generated controller errors. That is why we also recommend connecting "-" wire to pins 5 of the door controller.
NOTE 2: In the same way you can install warning lights on the VW Golf VII.
