Installing 2nd Set of Headers on my WS6
After installing a cheap used craigslist set of headers I decided to buy a new set. I could have bought Kooks or ARH but didn't want to spend that much money. Those are great brands and I used ARH on my ZR1. I decided to buy a set of 1 7/8" Speed Engineering Headers. I can't tell you what a great bang for the buck these are. Great welds, Nice thick flanges and quality stainless. They also have velocity spikes which my old ones did not. I would for sure recommend. Let me know what you thing. What is your favorite header?
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!

Just subbed a few days ago and watching all your vids, I’m completely envious of your garage. Hands down, you have the best 3 cars imo. F body TA, Zr1 and the ctsv. You have the best of all 3 worlds. Think all you’re missing is a Fbody Camaro SS. Plan on doing any vids modding the LSA? Those engines have so much potential, helped a buddy of mine put a zl1 lid on his not too long ago. Im a old skool guy and we didnt dremel out the cars contact points on the actual cars body/frame ect...we used a ball ping hammer to dent the header until it fit. Man I wished you had dyno'd the car before and after..or maybe you did! Id like to see what the difference was. As far as sound goes, it does sound better with the lowered back pressure and I also agree with a reasonable exhaust that is quiet or less loud but still gives the same power. Now back in 1984 when i was in high school I loved headers and cherry bomb glasspaks that wud wake the dead!!! BTW in 2001 I had a very very rare 1978 triple blue trans am ws6 hurst edition with shorty t tops and factory 4 speed M21 RPO code but I kick myself everyday for selling it...Now Im crippled and poor I still have my 2002 Trans Am WS6 Blue Convertible Auto bone stock. Its stock cuz im broke.... I want intake, headers, and exhaust. Im going to keep it "just bolt ons". These cars will be rocketing up in price since the low sale production in 2002, plus its the last year of them ever, and in 2022 just 2 more yrs and a month they will officially become a CLASSIC...BTW what did u do with ur old headers and y pipe? Id like to have them if they are just sitting somewhere not being used. It sux being broke :)
@TWAMotorsports
@TWAMotorsports 4 года назад
No I didn't dyno before and after. These cars usually see 20-25 rwhp increase with longtube headers. I sold the headers to make way for other parts. As for the value I try not to worry about that as I just love the look of the car and don't ever see myself not owning one. Bolt ons is a lot of fun and these cars are still very quick because they were way ahead of their time.

I got them on ebay, they’re “perfomance racing” the shape it’s similar to the speed ones that you installed, but i think mine’s a lil bit bigger cuz it’s just one tube that it’s hitting and doesn’t give me enough clearance and i really don’t want to removed the oil pan to have more clearance since will be a long process...

You can remove the hanger for old factory exhaust, with rubber bushing. (By tunnel brace.) Dead weight. I thought your car was fully tublar. I see now just looks like frame connectors. With a aftermarket k you probably wouldn't have to unbolt knuckle. You should look into a k member upper & lower @ arms and some strange coil overs up front.

Nice job. I can't wait to get my Kooks system installed. It will probably sound just as good. Have you been looking around for a turbo kit. I was looking at this setup www.airpowersystems.com/fbody/tt.htm when I originally was thinking about turbo's. I've changed my mind and will be getting a Procharger F1 series supercharger instead. They are less of a headache compared to turbo's. What I like about APS is that they have the turbo set low. So you don't have excessive heat in the engine bay. I don't know how much you paid for the Speed Engineering headers but Texas Speed have a really inexpensive set and when it comes to F-bodies. Those guys are second to none.
