Glad mine were already installed, great info! Just a tip on your top bunk mattress and blanket touching ceiling. My previous toy hauler bunk mattress was touching ceiling causing stains on ceiling from condensation. I made sure I have clearance on my Momentum 21G. Thanks for posting.
I’ve been having a problem with my driver side door falling out when I opened it or when pulling into the garage. Your shim idea is perfect. I think I will shim both sides top and bottom just to tighten up that pivot joint. I’m going to look for something other than a wood shim just because these are doors and could be exposed to water. If I find something acceptable as an alternative I will come back to this video and post it. Thank You

In spite of all the problems, we got these installed with our toy hauler because of how they open. They of course have the huge gaps and let in bugs - and mice eventually I bet. Do you think we might be able put a screen like yours into our toy hauler with these doors? If so, what screen would fit? Any help would be appreciated! Your screen looks like it was made for this match with the doors!

In Brief: 1. Trim upper and lower wall molding and Install tall wall (floor to ceiling) side rails - channels, pre-drilling all holes, using 1" self tapping black screws. 2. install top cross ceiling channel between wall side rails. 3. install black Styrofoam panel into ceiling & wall channels, hold it in place with blue tape. 3. Position and hang door top cross channel between wall channels - measure and trim its length if needed. Hold it in place with lots of blue tape. 4. fit door hinge frame rail -channels into wall channels and check fit and trim of doors for gaps top and bottom, centered, center latch works. 5. Pre-drill 1 hole on each side wall channel into door hinge frame, fasten with one 1/2"" black metal screw. re-check doors fit and trim. 6. Pre-drill multiple holes on side frame channels into door hinge channels, install multiple 1/2"" screws. 7. @@dmanda24 I ordered through the Grand Design Dealership. LCI had to Make the doors as they were "out of stock". More likely, they give priority to new trailer construction, over owner requests...
Cause if the makers of your trailer never put them in any of their toy hauler they can't order them from. Lippert which in that case your dealer can't order them
It came with our trailer when we bought it in July 2019 as 3 season doors were not available on 25G's untill midish 2020. (But our trailer is a "2020" model year. The rool down screen is much like a window shade, with @ 1.5" metal Tracts on both sides that the screen slides to the floor in. Problem is if you get a decent 🌬️ wind, it blows the screen out of those Tracts, allowing bugs to get in anyway. It's a handy 2ndary defense for the 3 season doors, which do also allow bugs in. I would look into something more like a Velcro, or garage door type screen if you just want the good view, not to go out onto the "patio". Search the G.D. Toyhauler groups for "toy door screens" as others have had some GREAT 💡 ideas!
I own 2016 Heartland RoadWarrior 420 toy hauler and can’t find a 3 season patio door. Heartland says it’s not available for my rig. Anyone have suggestions on where to buy?
Lippert didn't start making the glass "3 season doors" for any models untill late 2019 - early 2020, to fit into the newer model trailers. So for pre-2019 models they would not have made any for them. Best bet is to find a newer model trailer with the exact same interior dimensions as yours 8" back in from the toy door & frame, with also the exact toy door frame dimensions, and see if they ARE making 3 season doors for it now. If yes, get the part Numbers for it, and have them order them, risking they would fit your older trailer. Other option is call a GOOD home glass shop that makes custom glass patio doors, to see if they might custom build them for you. Even with the correct Lippert doors, those things get the worst "back seat of a rollercoaster 🎢 Ride" and get the "L" SHAKEN out of them on every trip. That's why YOU MUST put the upper glass panels down, to keep them lower, and hopefully not popping out😢.
Yes, I did get the glass too. My Doors were $1600, glass $400 shipping $400, but they have had multiple price increases since!🙄 The wooden shipping crates made for a new garage wall shelf, and camp firewood 😁
@@mikesvideos3050 That's a good deal. The only place I could order from was $2,800 with shipping and it is full screens--no glass/plastic. But, I plan on using tinted plexiglass for windows. Mine weighed 120 pounds and was a big cardboard box. I ordered it the first of November 2021 and got it yesterday.
