We installed a 1” body lift kit into a 2011 Prado 150 series. There’s not a great deal of information available online about doing this and the process is relatively easy as long as you plan what to do.
We located where all the body mounts were located and removed what was needed to access areas in the body and framework of the car such as plastic trims and the bull bar.
The hardest ones to do were the rear mounts, the rear cargo area plastics need removal and once done there’s little to no room where the bolts slip in and out, but it’s achievable with some patience.
What I didn’t mention in the video was that we had to do a radiator relocation which was part of the kit and was a bit fiddly to do but again, achievable with some patience.
We did lift the body from the underside jacking points with a trolley jack and some blocks of timbers, unfortunately I wasn’t able to take photos of it at the time to show where we lifted the body from but upon inspection it’s easy to find.
We did remove the rear bumper, but again, once the body lift spacers were installed, the bumper sat back in place with little to no fuss. Although others may not find this to be the case.
Please feel free to ask any questions about the installation, the kit used was a BBK branded one suited to an FJ cruiser and worked well for us.
Enjoy the video and subscribe to follow more… Cheers.
