I have the exact same pool since last year. What I miss here are two things. First one: every legs should have been placed on concrete slabs or something similar. It is very likely if you did not do that, the legs will sink in the ground. Another thing: you should have been in the pool once it had 2-4"of water and then kick the liner with your heels to the legs. Now the bottom is all wrinkled which is not nice but most of all dirt and algae will collect in the wrinkles and it will be difficult to remove. I hope everything will be fine but I suspect you will run into trouble with the legs sinking 2-4" inches at least into the ground and not every leg will go in as much, so the pool will probably look uneven.

Bad thing being a salt water pool, usually that will lead to rust right on the "T" joint where the pool is unlevel.
@Serenoj69
@Serenoj69 3 года назад
@@logarin Well my sis has a 4 year old version and has rust an dhad it pretty quickly. Mine is 1 year old and there is just an almost invisible amount of rust at one T-joint. I mean you really have to look up close to see just a fraction of it. In the end it is steel and it is probably inevitable but for now it looks to progress really slow. May be it is better to cover these joints with flaps that float when water gets too high due to rainfall but stay down when the level is below the holes surrounding these joints? Something like that should be possible, even to make yourself.

Harbor Freight sells tarp spikes. I used tgem on the corners of my tarp to keep it from moving so it wouldnt have wrinkles like this from dragging the pool around. Pulls the tarp tight too. Also....yes on pavers under the uprights. It will become unlevel every time it rains.

9:12 9:34 thanks for the clear view of drain valve. I want to prepare area for the pool before buying it so I got to know, where all connectors are. Valves for filter are always shown in manuals I was able to find over the Internet and I can't find that mysterious drain valve in every manual I found and all videos I watched about setting up such frame pools. So this size pool has minimum 2 drain valves. I'm going to buy 20" pool so this guy would have at least one of them in probably the same place. Actually I was thinking the drain valve has to be in the middle of pool, so all the water may come out, now I understand this is wrong))

I just ordered one smaller than y'all's (18x52) and since it was on sale for less than the salt water piece I could add I got the pump/salt water combo (pump is larger and supposedly it's easier to use..idk. Am I suppose to throw salt into the water AND the salt water gadget? If so I gotta get a lot more and it ain't easy to find around here (online it's outrageous and shipping is more than the product) I read that water softener salt works just as well (Morton clean & natural softner had the same ingredients as the pool salt so I got some of that). Also I'm having trouble finding sand for the pump, had anyone here tried the "fiber balls called cotton balls etc? I read they work great & less stress on the pump; any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm so glad I saw your video along with the comments below. I've read through them & see some really good tips (pavers under the legs etc). Btw I am a lil confused, some folks say to put sand under the ground cover, some say put it on top of the ground cover and some don't use sand. We just moved to our land and some ground work still has to be completed but I want to be sure I get it right the first time. Thank you so much for sharing this video & thanks to all the pool folks out there, your tips are awesome!🙂

Nice pool but I agree with some of the comments. I’ve had a pool for many years. Mine is not a intex. First one was metal and my newest is a saltwater pool. I’m just saying if you don’t put pavers under the legs you will have trouble and the legs will bend and you will have a collapse. I would drain the water and put pavers under each leg. It will be worth it. Also you have to get the wrinkles out before the water fills to two feet. Or they will always be there. I just saying be I wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt. When my first pool collapsed because of rust and it was old, no one was in it thank God but it goes fast and I belief any of us were in it then it could have been our life. Scared me so bad that the second one we made a cement collar for the walls. A lot of digging for a foundation but I actually wanted something more sturdy than even pavers. Which pavers are just fine but having been through a collapse I know it can happen. All this being said with the way this one is set up without any pavers you will eventually have a collapse in my honest opinion. Please for everyone’s safety I would drain it and redo it with pavers and kick around the wrinkles to the edge before the water gets two feet high. I know it’s none of my business but I’ve lived through a collapsed pool. Reason I’m saying all this was because they day before the collapse my 3 year old great nephew was in my pool. What if it had if collapsed the day before while he was in there. This child wouldn’t be here today. Please please drain it and put pavers under the legs. There’s all kind of RU-vid videos that show how. A pool is a lot of fun please be safe. I am happy you have it and hope you get many many years of enjoyment out of it. After you put pavers ears down lol God bless you and have fun.

You should fill the pool up to top level and then put 10 bags of salt and try to disperse is with a pool brush. This way you can easily bleach out the liner which can make the liner looks white without these printed tiles and it will also be weakened on these spots so it may get ripped there.

@@BigCountrysWay Oke. Winter. I don't know how winter looks where you live. I live in The Netherlands and winter here is 15-30 cm of ice on pool/ If you have winter like that you'll NEEd to lower the water below the in and outflowconnections. Than my advice is to buy a big tire (tube) and pump it up. buy a plactic vase or something similar that sticks in the central opening of the tire. Fill that with rocks or sand so that the tube sinks half way (say 10 cm or 4"above water and the rest below). Now...when the winter comes and the pool freezes over the ice won't destroy you liner. Because of the tire (in the middle of the pool) there is room for the ice to push against the tire. So you have some leverage. It worked out perfectly. I also have the exact same saltwater system (and pool). So before you put the cover on it, remove the pump, lower th water etc. Than go around the pool and add anit algae and I think pool shock. than immediately afterwards cover the pool. We did so in october and now, in May the water is crystal clear. No algae whatsoever in it. There are probably other ways to achieve it but the tire costed me 7-8 euro over here in The NEtherlands so that is a good and cheap way to prevent the ice from damaging your liner. Have a nice summer and enjoy your new pool. I can tell you that with our kids etc we enjoyed it a lot!

The salt is marked up to $24 for the same reason that your salinator from Amazon for the same reason that the pump and salinator are marked up to $600 from about $100: People will pay for it. I would avoid tilling. You want solid ground, but luckily your buddy compacted it cheap. Instead spray grass killer, wait to die, weed eat, rake up, dig down to level, level off with as little sand as possible if rocks are not an issue. Installers use pavers on the legs to guarantee level only. If you are level enough, then the legs will not push into firm ground. If your yard has washout, then that could be a problem, though.
