In this informative step-by-step guide, Ron King will walk the viewer through the necessary steps to quickly and safely install a large, 5-foot-wide windmill-type ceiling fan.
Don't waste your time trying to figure the process out alone; let Ron show you the DIY tips and tricks needed to get your fan installed quickly and efficiently the first time.
One of the more difficult aspects of the rustic windmill-type ceiling fan installation is connecting the windmill bars. Ron will show the viewer a quick and easy way to accomplish this task.
Ron will start by unboxing the 60-inch Harbor Breeze Henderson ceiling fan, explaining what each part is used for. Don't make the mistake of starting the installation without the correct parts.
Mr. King will also explain what tools you need and what safety precautions you should take.
Ron will also explain the differences between an AC-driven and a DC-driven fan motor and which one you should buy for your home remodeling project.
Do you know what ceiling fan box you need for your ceiling fan size and weight? Ron will tell you, and he will also explain how the downrod lengths work so you can install the correct downrod.
And most of all, Ron installs the DC-powered, 5-foot-wide ceiling fan by installing the blades after the motor housing is hung in the ceiling cradle. So you can do this yourself, and you can do it alone if you don't have any help.

Just put the same exact one together didn’t even have to read the instructions because I saw your video and you lead me through the whole thing. Thank you so much for such a great video!

My sincere thanks to you for taking the time & posting this video! I'm much more a visual learner & as you said yourself - the instructions were less than clear in some areas. This was a tremendous asset to my installation ! Thanks again!

thank you for this video! I have two of them to do tomorrow on 13ft ceilings how long did it take you to do this from unboxing to completion? I am guessing I could do them in about 2 hours each maybe?

It was around 2 hours, I did a 9 foot one the same day. You will have an advantage getting to see one installed so maybe that will help you complete it quicker. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@@UltimateDiyer perfect yes for sure with you video tutorial it will be faster thank you for that! I expected probably around 2.5 hours each fan before watching this video but at least 30 minutes less watching this video. It sucks on this one you have to do most of the work on the ladder I am thinking *maybe* it could all be done on the ground but might be hard to balance and bring up on the ladder.

@@UltimateDiyer I did the two today the first one took about 2.5 hours the second about 1.5 hours. Even after watching this video (and you did a great job) it was still not easy. Would have taken me much longer if I put the blades and crescents on while mounted on ceiling already. I did ALL the assembly on a table/workbench before mounting and wiring. But I was working with a 2ft down-rod so that made mounting it after blades on much easier.
