I pulled up a 2021 Street Glide and swapped out his stock exhaust for a new stainless steel Bassani Xhaust. The instill is simple and straight forward, and Bassani makes an exhaust that delivers the sound and power a rider wants.

I got a 2/1 Bassoni on my 21 RD Limited. Love the performance & look. Every HD I owned has had 2/1 pipes.

I love the way you explain things, I think you must have had a good example growing up 😁 Actually, I'll never forget how impressed Mrs. Reyes was with the way you explained things back in K. You're just awesome and I'm so very proud 👏

Nice man. Good to see you getting more content out and keeping bikes moving. One thing to add, if you'll copper crush washers on the bung plugs you'll greatly reduce the chance of leaks and/or the plugs backing out.

Damn...I was hoping to see what kind of trick you were doing to install the gaskets. Getting ready to put a Bassani 2 into 1 on my 12 Road King, going to be the 3rd exhaust I installed on this bike and the front gasket is always a pain in the ass. Sounds good though.

Hey nice Street Glide man. I sold my bike earlier this year and got the itch again to get another bike specifically a Harley bagger. I've always loved the look of the Street Glide. I wanted to know do you regret getting the standard over the special? Becasue honestly I think the special is over hyped. You still get that harley sound with the basic version.
@GilstrapGarage

This is a customers bike, brotha! The standard is still waaay nicer than anything I’m rolling at the moment 🤣

Fast forward, I bought a used Bassani pipe, and it’s in great shape. The guy I bought it from said there is no bracket for the cone to attach to the frame. Just the head stud bolts, and where the cone itself bolts to under the saddlebags. Is that correct? If not I don’t want to start this project on this long weekend and come to find out I need a bracket, and now I’m fucked
@Johnnylove15
@Johnnylove15 Год назад
What did you edit out at 17:24? Did you have to reposition or remove the exhaust and try again? I have the same exhaust on my Ultra, & the pipes are a real challenge to line up to the ports.
@GilstrapGarage
@GilstrapGarage Год назад
Taking the time to line them up is all that was edited out, probably. It’s been so long it’s hard to remember. I also have to edit out a lot of interruptions from my kids and stuff 🤣

I noticed you said using the original hardware for the bracket will strip the hole. If you did use the original hardware for the bracket, does it immediately strip the hole ?

If it didn’t bottom out in the case, then you will probably be okay
@a.r.o7697
@a.r.o7697 2 года назад
In your experience, would that exhaust fit on a Road Glide (2016) that has 14" suspension in the rear? I've heard that the axle nut could hit the muffler even with a mid pipe system.
@GilstrapGarage
@GilstrapGarage 2 года назад
To be honest with you man, I haven’t installed a 2-1 on a twin cam bagger, but with 14” shocks you might be more likely to hit the bottom shock mount bolt than the axle nut. After I did the pipe for this guy he installed a crazy air ride set up on it and didn’t use the correct bolts, so the bottom one hit the top of his pipe when he aired it all the way up. It would probably be a safer bet to call the manufacturer and ask for someone’s opinion on the tallest shocks you could run with whatever pipe you want.
@a.r.o7697
@a.r.o7697 2 года назад
@@GilstrapGarage I appreciate the response. I wanted to make an informed decision before pulling the trigger on an expensive exhaust only to have clearance issues. I ended up going with a Trask Assault straight exhaust for the Twin Cam. It'll probably show up before my RWD shocks do at this rate.

Did it come with the gaskets or did you have to purchase new ones? Also, what’s the tool you used to pull them out?

I had to purchase new ones. The only exhaust I’ve ever purchased that came with gaskets was D&D. But I use a small o-ring pick to grab underneath the gasket and pull it out

I haven’t seen it happen to anyone running a shorty exhaust yet, but I imagine it could happen. I’ve noticed my luggage slightly warmer than normal sometimes on my dyna and I run a full length exhaust
@Ishootfilm412

Just installed this exhaust the flanges won’t sit completely flush I just don’t understand what is wrong maybe I’m using the wrong gaskets? I bought a new pair of OEM tapered. I even bought New c clips since the old ones got super bent. I don’t think I feel a leak but they’re not sitting flush one night is way more time than the other one.
@GilstrapGarage
@GilstrapGarage Год назад
You can get the flat style gaskets rather than the tapered style. But as long as they seal and you get get them torqued properly, they don’t necessarily have to be flush with the heads.
@Ishootfilm412

@@GilstrapGarage bassani said it won’t sit perfectly flush :) but my issue is the one nut when I try torque it to spec 120 ft lbs it keeps spinning but not getting tighter I’m scared to strip the stud
