I have my Great Grandpas original from 74 on my 71 CJ5. Thing still works like a champ! Replaced one wire end once, and top the oil up after use.

That's amazing, it's stories like these that I hear that make me glad I went with a M8274, still learning my way around the winch but looking forward to testing it out soon as well.

Thank you Ted! I remember when the ad came up I basically jumped in my Jeep and drove to pick up the winch the same day. I can't wait to see how it does on my property with some testing before really putting it to use out on the trail.

Have you considered swapping the front bumper for one with a built in hitch so you can still move the trailers? I put on on my LJ and I love it.

Hey Forest, no I haven't but that is a really good idea actually. I've seen a couple of designs where people have custom made front bumper that lower the M8274 and I've been debating going that route and making a custom from hitch for the lowered bumper as well.

@@RustyAutoholicGuy I don't have the welding skills for fabrication so I went with an Olympic brand bumper. Easy bolt on installation.

I have Jeep TJ also and just got a Warn 8274 winch and was looking at the Warn 38671 winch mount also. I am concerned about this mount holding up to use. The way it looks with only those two bolt so close together to the frame I am concerned about it getting bent. Do you think this winch mount will hold up? Thanks in advance.
